are at home against Rangers on tuesday night. Venue: Grant Street Park. Inverness. On being asked why not Victoria Park a club spokesperson stated that "the type of grass we grow in Dingwall is not conducive to the type of free flowing football we are trying to instill in our youngsters. It is a type of grass that only grows in very sandy conditions and has a habit of disappearing underground if trampled on too much".

Do these have changing facilities, spectator facilities etc?

Theres a few changing rooms (4 i think) within there stadium. What are right next to the grass pitches. Not inculding the one for the first team. Theres toilet facilities once again in the stadium what they could use. Theres 3 grass pitches, outside all weather pitch and they have the indoor pitch aswel.

Aren't one of those pitches not used by Dingwall Thistle (or something like that) in one of the junior leagues?  If so, then it can be done.

Yeah theres amateur football played on them and tournaments for kids at weekends

Seems to be very difficult to find out the regulations that apply to U-20 league but it may be that the pitches you refer to are not up to standard for facilities, floodlighting etc.

 

Also, do these pitches not belong to Highland Football Academy? If so it may be that they cant guarantee availibility to comply with fixture list.

The is a press release just in from Dingwall explaining County's new long term strategy.

 

It reads 'Derek Adams confirms that his confidence was sky high when a reporter caught up with the Ross County convoy at Ballinluig on the way to their opening day jolly in Glasgow  'It's the opening day of the season, the flag gets unfurled for the champions, and we provide a guard of honour for them.''

 

However, he admits that after the next game against Partick he confirmed that the game was the lowest in his career in Dingwall. 'Our groundsman cut the grass too low and we could still see the sand!'

 

He has now also confirmed he did indicate last week (quite wrongly as it turned out) that 'Richie Brittain can handle the heat' and then after the crushing defeat after some fisticuffs in the dressing room 'Derek Adams challenges senior players to stop leaking goals.' 

 

Derek adds 'After three defeats in a row for the mighty Staggies after a great pre-season jolly to Holland at the millionaire chairman's expense, I said 'Dad, what do I do next?' as I held back the tears. Dad said 'Son, why not play a few games where the grass is always greener.'
