Josh's Red card

Surprised but delighted. Would have been cold comfort though if our nine men had been overcome in extra time due to the ref's incompetence.

Credit though for the appeal system working and for the ICT fan who apparently put up the grand for the appeal.

Do we get the grand back because the appeal was upheld?

Beaton had a howler on Sunday, but everyone has off days. He wasn't helped by the constant diving and feigning of injury by the Hearts players. Nor was he helped by the constant chorus of hysterical screams from the baying mob of mentally challenged fans in the home end claiming for every decision, no matter how ridiculous, through the entire 120 minutes. If he was guilty of anything, it was of being conned / influenced by those factors. Obviously a referee should be impervious to these things, but human nature is what it is.

Who's to say that we would have scored the equaliser if Josh hadn't been sent off? The sequence of events which followed went our way. In a perfect world Warrens red would also be rescinded, he deserves to play in the final. But from a team point of view, Josh and Danny did a great job at Pittodrie and kept a clean sheet, so we can now go into the final full of confidence. Mr Beaton deserves a stern talking to, but no more than that.

Erm, we were the home side on Sunday.

He seems to have more than most ..... off the top of my head he has had 3 red card decisions rescinded in the last 12 months .. Dundee player Nicky Riley (Dundee -V- Hearts), Jamie Hamill (ICT -V- Hearts) and now Josh Meekings (ICT -V- Hearts). Must be something about Hearts games !!!

Stuart McCall also complained about the 'goal' not awarded by him in the League Cup QF against Aberdeen (for which the ref allegedly apologised), there were two fairly dodgy penalties in the Killie - Hibs SFA Cup QF last year, and numerous complaints of him being 'too quick with the cards' ......

could be worse though .... he issued 12 yellows and 3 reds in an U17 Euro match in 2013 !!!
