Cup Final Ticket Allocation

THe biggest game in the clubs history and hardly a cheep about it from the club in the local press , they should be shouting from the rooftops to try and encourage as big a support as possible but if your happy with that then more power to you .

I agree with DoofersDad about the importance of Sunday's tie against Dundee United. It tends to have been reduced to a routine sideshow due to preoccupation with the League Cup final and how many tickets we've sold. We've very important games between then and now. This season's Scottish Cup affords us a realistic chance of going all the way to the Final.

Not convinced the League Cup final is the biggest game in our history - although I'd agree it's certainly our most high profile.

Although a matter of opinion, I'd argue our Scottish Cup semi-finals were bigger games and certainly the crucial final game of last season in Dingwall where it was in our hands to secure 3rd place in the SPL and a guaranteed European spot.

We can all play our part in making this a recruiting success, wear your colours tomorrow, go and buy your transport tickets in the Eastgate centre, be seen in your colours, the United game is on tv. show the armchair specialists what a noise we can make.

As for the final 5,000 fans or 10,000 Im going to have a great day, don't loose focus on why you want to go. were all going to support our club and our city.

A huge amount of pressure is being placed on the Dons team, they are going there to see a cup being won.

Im going there to support my team.

By the way extra tickets have now been released for Aberdeen, Im assuming their own top sections.

Well said.

Just a wee FYI, you unfortunately can't buy match tickets at the Eastgate tomorrow, just tickets for the train (or bus if you've booked).

Think some players were on MFR just now to be fair, they've been round some schools schools recently I think. There was a thing on North Highland Radio last night I believe, some buildings are to be lit up in blue and red I think, the league cup is in town tomorrow. No idea what is or isn't in the local press as I never buy or read it.  I simply get most of my info through social media and the web as it's free.

The players have been out in local schools this week. The club has been encouraging local businesses to get involved by dressing their windows in ICT stuff and the castle/bridges will be lit up as Fraz states. Lots of stuff going on but I don't think the club can control what's being reported or not as the case might be.

Not living in Inverness any more, I've not seen the local press coverage, but assuming this is true, then I couldn't agree more. When Aberdeen were reaching finals regularly in the 80s, the P&J was a real fan sheet - my memories might be distorted through the prism of time, but the build-up seemed to go on for weeks. Given that there is a Highland edition of the paper, and that this is our first major final, surely they should be really pushing how big this day is for our club and encouraging everyone in the area to get behind us.

Re Sneckboy's post above, I reckon that, for the fans at least, this is definitely the biggest day in our history. It's true that a high finish in the league, or a potential Scottish Cup final appearance, might mean more to the club in terms of finance, but we are one game away from having our name on one of the three major trophies in Scottish football; a trophy that has been competed for for 70-odd years (I think); something that even a well-established, regular top-flight club like St Johnstone has never won. Walking into Celtic Park at 2.25 next Saturday will almost certainly be my best experience as an ICT supporter to date; if Richie Foran lifts the cup at the end of it, it definitely will be the greatest.

Touch enthusiastic, maybe wait till the Sunday to turn up?

Good to see that we've near sold out our initial allocation. Hopefully we'll hit it and get another few thousand sold to the last minute chancers. I also imagine this figure would have been from close of business yesterday so we might have sold through now. Friday could be pay day after all.

Still eagerly waiting on my tickets in the post. In fairness I only bought them on Wednesday night ha ha!

Just had a look at the website and tried to purchase a few tickets just to see what seats were left.  112/113/114/115/ were all sold out with 3 seats left in 116.  There was plenty to choose from in  117/118.  Not too sure how accurate this is but if true then i think it'll be a decent turnout.ohplbs.jpg

7000 is 7000 and everyone who has bought a ticket should be proud but for a cup final it's pretty disappointing if we are all being honest

Remember County took 17k to their cup final which is more than double what we are taking

I honestly thought we could have mustered 10k but unless there is some late activity this sadly does not look like being achievable

When you consider the amount of incomers that bolster that 7k you do wonder how many actual Invernessians will be in attendance

Anyway it is what it is and 7k will still add to what should be a wonderful day and atmosphere and one I'm looking forward to greatly

Bring it on

'Their cup final' was the Scottish Cup. If we get there, we'll certainly mobilise more fans than for this game.

It's not the ICT support that's "missing" it's the neutral following.

Despite this being the SPFL's  Show Piece, there's still an (almost) full weekend of fixtures across all the other leagues.  So, unlike what happens in the Scottish Cup, you won't have much by way of a neutral attendance....who historically, tend to get behind the underdog (which we seem to be for this one).

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.....which I think applies equally well to both the team and the fans when it comes to ICTFC.

I'll be very happy with a support of 7-8k. Obviously there will be a few non-ICT supporters among them, but I think the large majority of that number will be genuine ICT supporters. County taking a support three times the population of Dingwall to the Scottish Cup Final just reflects the amazing curiosity value that game had and says nothing about the respective size or status of the clubs, Yoda, a decent County poster on P&B, gave a pretty good insight into what it was like to be a genuine County supporter at that final:

Having the hardcore support there is probably much better.  It was great seeing 16,000 or so people in the County end but when people don't have a clue as to which player is which ("Which one is the one that scored against Celtic?") it became unbearable, particularly when they started streaming out at 3-0 without having the respect to show an appreciation of what the team had achieved in making the final.

I'd far rather be surrounded by supporters who really care about the game than being swamped by an additional 10,000 people who don't really know or care what is going on. Would be good if more of the 7-8k stay with us and swell the home attendances after the final though.

Just seen on Facebook someone shared an AFC link and comments openly about people that are supporting Aberdeen who have already bought tickets for our end. Let's hope they get found out and removed. Can't seem to post a link just now. Search for AFC page and you'll see...
