Revenue Streams

Life trying to maintain full time top flight football on a modest fan base will always be a challenge.

It occurs to me that one potential source of revenue we may be neglecting is stadium naming rights.

I know that the Tulloch group ploughed money in and worked wonders in throwing up the North and South Stands in record time so we could take our place in the SPL and earned the right by doing so to enjoy the publicity associated with the stadium name but that was a decade ago and they have surely got their money's worth by now.

Maybe we should be trying to sell the rights for the next ten years to the highest suitable bidder. May not be worth as much as shirt advertsing but it's bound to be worth a reasonable annual five figure sum.

But we don't own the stadium or the stands so is possibly not our naming rights to sell?

That shouldn't be an issue. Manchester City, for example don't own their advertising beacon of a stadium and we didn't own it when we granted naming rights to Tullochs either.

Thats a good call and when someone from the legal profession raises the issue you know theres a bit of weight behind the debate.

The stands would have been built by Tulloch Construction which are no more.

David Sutherland  did a great job building up his empire, perhaps he could make a donation to call it the David Sutherland Stand  and name the away end after his wife.

That should see us into 2024.

The Footlong Sub Stadium

Is this the result of downsizing? Is our bench going to filled with 12 inch tall people next season?

The joke comes from the fact Subway, a sandwich chain, are our new sponsors and they advertise their product as 'subs'.
