Dundee -V- Inverness CT

Good result against one of the best teams I've seen at TCS this season. Also quite an achievement to keep Clarkson at bay considering he's scored in his last 8 consecutive games. Sounds like we finished strongly, despite having a midweek game. Fitness levels must be high! Positive substitutions also paid off. Good work all round.

Great result for us after going 1 down I think the pleasing aspect of recent games is that we are bossing the games in terms of possession and attempts surely now time for those who doubted Huges to start backing him, although I don't see many games from what I gather we are playing the best football that we have in years and getting the results to go with  it

Delighted with this result, gutted I couldn't be there to experience the joy of a late winner. I never miss a game at Dens but somehow my daughter's birthday party got arranged for this afternoon, grrr. Just glad that it was Dundee's defence who were playing musical statues.

Fantastic result for us. I don't think we played that well but to not perform that well and still get the three points is a great outcome. Good chances for both sides seemed to be few and far between. Dundee, as others have said, edged the first half whilst we had the better of the second.

Disappointing goal to concede for the opener from an ICT perspective. Free kick looped to the back post and we seemed to lose track of the ball and the Dundee players which let Stewart steal in at the back to side foot home. We didn't really get going in an attacking sense in the first half. Perhaps our best chance was from a Tansey corner which was met by Meekings and his header crashed off the bar.

I'm still not sure how we equalised to be honest. Mckay found himself with space to pick a shot which Bain seemed to save then it came off Mckay and / or a Dundee defender and ended up in the net.

After this we upped our game and the substitutes swung it for us. Doran and Christie gave us more of a spark up front despite and the latter grabbed the winner when Watkins beat McPake to a ball down the touchline and crossed for Christie and it looked like he stuck out his foot to poke the ball in beyond Bain.

Aside from our goals and the Meekings header I felt we were relatively toothless going forward. Especially after our recent attacking performances against Motherwell, Hamilton and Saint Mirren. Dundee marshalled us pretty well and I felt we did likewise with the likes of Clarkson barely getting a sniff.

Good, accurate account from RIG. Speacial mention to the Beckhamesque audacious effort from 50yards which almost caught the keeper out for 1 - 3. I thought we were quite poor for much of the game giving possession away time and time again. Dundee seemed to pick up all the scraps in midfield and we were not always that committed in the tackle. All in all strange considering recent form. Great performance from RIG, Maryhill,  GovanJ, Redcard et al.............kept my wee nephew and neice well entertained...........they are now practising some new phrases, chants and insults that they never knew before

Well done ICT

An exceptional result today , this was great after listening to the radio all the hype about Dundee United in second place and if they beat Aberdeen the can challenge Celtic for the title!  Now we are back in second place, well done again to all the team.

I hadn't been aware of that stat - Clarkson netting in 8 consecutive games!

Although Billy didn't score in our back-to-back cup games with St Mirren, he has now scored in 3 consecutive league games (4 goals). He's back!

Great win today - and the first time we've come from behind to win, on the road, in over 3 years. (November 2011)

Billy Mckay scoring with a great left hook. I've always said Willie Collum was a top class referee.

Dundee defender tries to hook it clear and it comes of Mckays hand and goes in. Certainly not deliberate so Collum got it right.

Thought we looked a bit off it yesterday, but having said that I always felt that we were doing enough to not lose the game. For me the big difference was that at 1-1 Dundee were happy to play out a draw, but we were trying to win the game. Thought that we controlled Clarkson pretty well, and Christie's goal was an absolute peach. Thought his booking was a bit harsh, didn't strike me as a particularly over the top celebration.

Fantastic away day to be part of yesterday and a late winner to boot, thoroughly enjoyed my time

Game was not a classic in terms of quality. We struggled to keep our shape and found it hard to get in behind Dundee in the first half. They are not much of a team to watch themselves, relying heavily on set pieces to create chances which they got their goal from, players like Tansey and Williams were struggling to get time on the ball to knock it about.

2nd half saw us making better use of the wings, huge chunk of luck for Billy's goal but when you play well you get the breaks like that, the introduction of Doran and Christie was well timed, we really took the game to Dundee late on and grabbed the chance that came our way, good ball in and a great finish from Ryan to create some late scenes in the away end.

Given his current form Clarkson was in the thinking im sure but thought Warren and Meekings did well to keep him quiet. He showed some decent touches but never got a sniff at goal.

Signs of a great team when you play poorly but win, we ever stopped trying and got rewarded for our efforts. Yogi deserves credit for the double change. It's what won us the game.

Pace of the game was a bit slower, mainly because Dundee had to overload the midfield to snuff us out. That and the fact that it was really windy out on what was a pretty scabby looking lumpy pitch. We did really well to win this one. It seems Ryan Christie got booked for leaving the field of play whilst celebrating. Presumably Mr. Collum didn't see how greasy that area of the pitch was and if Ryan had tried to stop or turn he would have been on his *rse in double quick time. Never fear.

So why wasn't Stewart booked for leaving the field of play when Dundee scored? Getting a bit sick of Gollum making it up as he goes along without sanction.

I suppose it comes down to 'interpretation'! And Willie Gollum probably realised he'd not booked one of our players with only 2 minutes remaining!

Here's the official ruling on celebrations:

Celebration of a goal

While it is permissible for a player to demonstrate his joy when a goal has been scored, the celebration must not be excessive.

Reasonable celebrations are allowed, but the practice of choreographed celebrations is not to be encouraged when it results in excessive time-wasting and referees are instructed to intervene in such cases. A player must be cautioned if:

• in the opinion of the referee, he makes gestures which are provocative, derisory or inflammatory

• he climbs on to a perimeter fence to celebrate a goal being scored

• he removes his shirt or covers his head with his shirt

• he covers his head or face with a mask or other similar item

Leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal is not a cautionable offence in itself but it is essential that players return to the field of play as soon as possible.

Referees are expected to act in a preventative manner and to exercise common sense in dealing with the celebration of a goal.
