Older version of Dry January

Eh, what?

Good at history and good at splitting hairs as well methinks. A well rounded lad is oor Charlie.

The last thing I'm therefore  going to do  now is mention  Sir William Wallace.

But is it true that one time in his earlier days he was fleeing on his hoss from a posse of English sojers and outnumbered mightily. After  many hours riding hard, he gets fed up , stops his horse and faces up to the hordes behind. Unsheathing his broadsword he leaves 20-25 dead or dying troopers in his wake as he remounts and escapes into the twilight. What a guy. Me?-it's his hoss I feel sorry for....:notworthy:

John Urquhart's shop on Lochalsh Road (now the Post Office) just across from the old SCWS and Farmers Dairy and on the right beside the white car the house with the lucky stone, never worked for me though!

Nah! I think he has just succumbed to the onset of Glaucoma. I can hardly see the page  myself now but that could be too many late nights as well maybe.

It's a neat picture though --I have to say that. , although I don't recall exactly where it is situated and all. There you go--- IHE  is about to tell me I think...... (Ssht! I hope so).

S.P. (Just recovering from his earthquake drama experience a couple of days ago. Phew!--see below--what a way to usher in the new year.

Scarlet, it was out Millburn Road opposite the old Mart, was a very busy pub on mart sale days!  The building is still there and the Domestic Discount Stores is now Lochgorm Carpet & Furniture store and was originally a bonded warehouse (I think)
