Replacement Striker?

Concerned that anything now would be a panic buy - Balotelli for Liverpool springs to mind. We do need a striker, but not just the dregs. Celtic and Aberdeen have strengthened, but Dundee United are certainly weaker: what an opportunity for Europe! Billy - we need you for 4 more months! Oh we'll, I suppose we'll guddle through with Watkins and Ferguson, but what could have been!

Looking at the bigger picture, good to see lots of money coming into / being spread within the Scottish football ecosystem. Old Firm apart, long gone are the days of Scottish clubs wasting silly money on transfer fees for foreign players.

Presumably Hughes sees the need for a striker given the unsuccessful bid for Southend's Lee Barnard.  Was that the contingency?  Having made it clear that we were looking for someone, not to get anyone will clearly represent failure in that strategy.

Personally I'm not convinced that our style of play needs an out and out striker but it does need players to be more goal aware and be looking to shoot a bit more often.  We have several players who are capable of scoring and playing a fluid system up front should give several players opportunities to score.

Mikael Antoine Curier released from Hamilton. Worth a punt?

How can you just name another club's player so dismissively, and call it a 'punt'? As if it's a right to take who you want! It's not Football Manager or whatever it's called these days!

Would you be pleased to read on the Hamilton Forum a speculative post suggesting - Draper at inverness - should we take him?...worth a punt?

Disgraceful post.

Edit. And another poster has jumped-on with the arrogant assumption that he can be our player if we simply snap our fingers!

Haha, calm down. He's not another club's player anymore which was the whole point.

If Hamilton were trying to sign Draper I'd probably give up on football altogether.

Was watching the Rangers on the T.V (yep,T.V!) yesterday.

Such a poor, hesitant team; Maybe some bright, upwardly-mobile prospect might be willing to cut his salary to play for a much more talented and spirited team with a brighter future.

                                                                             NOT!

Why? Because  the Rangers mystique is still a potent force in the mind of young players  who are living in the past. The financial debacle and the poor quality of their players indicates that thy are nothing like the teams of the past.

Falkirk reject bid but can't access their website to see who assume Hamilton.

"LOY BID REJECTED

The Club can confirm they have turned down an improved offer for the services of striker Rory Loy from Hamilton Academical.

Director Ronnie Bateman told the Official Website that they had considered the offer carefully but it was not in line with the Club’s current valuation of the player.

Bateman added, “We also took into consideration the contribution the player might make to our quest for promotion and  success in Scottish Cup games.”"

That is the statement on the Falkirk website
