FC Astra Giurgiu -V- Inverness CT

decent play but felt a bit like Hughes when he first took over lots of passing but no pace and creativity for goals. We had enough chances to go through over the two matches but at this level as astra showed you only need one and they took it. I expect more players will come before the league campaign but we haven't been humiliated by a team who made the group stages last season but its a missed opportunity as we where the best side in both legs but that lack of cutting edge has cost us. Maybe roberts would have made a difference but we lacked any pace down the flanks and failed to put any balls into the box. We go forward and hopefully we add a few more and have another great season and maybe in 12 months we will get another crack.

Apart from Christie with that beautiful shot we really had no chance of scoring. Unfortunately we conceded from yet another free kick. And that was all that was in the game. If not it would have definitely gone to penalties. Lopez just has no chance of scoring anytime soon unfortunately and i would have still put Roberts on for the first leg.

Also diet County really do play dirty don't they? The usual theatrics from their players just to wind down the clock. I only hope they don't get West Ham to soften the blow for losing.

That was agony but what better incentive to qualify for Europe next season and progress a round or two.

However, before the next European dream has the possibility of becoming reality we really must find an experienced forward.

Thought the Astra manager was an absolute clown too, with his designer jeans and massive plastic orange watch. He had the fecking nerve to insult our players throughout making diving gestures towards them every time a foul was awarded. Oh the irony. He even makes Derek Adams look classy.

Sounds like we were too cagey again.  To win the match without it going to the penalty lottery we would have had to score twice.  It would have made no difference if Astra had scored a goal on the night because 2-2 would have taken us through on away goals.

Never mind.  On the positive side we remain unbeaten on our travels in Europe and have yet to concede a goal.
