Aberdeen would the obvious choice.

Probably not just the obvious choice but the only choice.  He came to us from Hereford where he made only 1 appearance and before that it was a grand total of 6 for Shrewsbury.  He'll not exactly be a legend in the  West Midlands.  He's from Aberdeen and started his career with the Dons.  In any case, the Dons now have plenty of free weekdays to fit a match in.

Who has all had testimonials with the club?  Ross Tokely, Roy McBain and Grant Munro are the ones I can recall.  Did Russell Duncan get one?

Russell and Granty's were a joint effort.

Plus they pulled out of the pre season friendly.

Rot Weiss Essen not an option!!  However, Ryan's substitute role for Scotland against the USA offers a chance for cameo appearances from some interesting former players:

Scotland: Gordon, Alexander, Weir, Pressley (Steven Caldwell 45), Webster, Dailly (Gary Caldwell 45), Fletcher, Hartley, Quashie (Maloney 74), O'Connor (Brown 74), McCann (McFadden 63).
Subs Not Used: Douglas, Anderson, Smith, Riordan, Esson, Murray.

Booked: Dailly, Steven Caldwell.

Very often not a first pick between the sticks during his years with us but had always been dependable when called upon and has contributed on the coaching front in more recent seasons.

A well deserved reward. Like others, Aberdeen would seem to me to be the obvious choice as opponents. As DD alluded to, they would appear to be at a loose end on Thursday evenings for the next few months.

Hopefully not Aberdeen, well, because we've played them that many times it'd be like any old game and probably not a lot to remember it by. Hopefully a trip to some country, Spain or France or something like that. Or maybe, next season, as it's our 25th Anniversary, a European Tour, have his Testimonial on the final day of the Tour...at the Nou Camp vs Barcelona "B" (Gone for the "B" team, because we would want a challenge but not so much a challenge that we concede over 100 goals)

A testimonial will never be an away game.

It kind of was for Russell Duncan and Grant Munro who both played for County in the first half of their joint one at the TCS.

Because they no longer played for us so it was hardly going to be at Dingwall. Plus it was a committee of volunteers that pushed for it because the club showed little interest and also with (particularly Grant) being told they weren't wanted so close to the end of the season.

How to show players they are wanted and appreciated. Unfortunately, we still seem to be good at that.
