There's probably not much significant investment around any Scottish football, however any increases in ST, fan footfall or even sponsors (of any level) may look at what JR has done over the later part of last season and early this with a view that its a good time to become or get re-associated with the club. Signs that things may be moving in the right forwards direction and the potential benefits that any promotion (or serious challenge) may bring to all parties. Time will tell overall but this bit news has more positives than we've seen out of the club recently.

You would like to think so and I had hoped to see a small increase in our crowds but sadly the continue to fall and we are now back to where our attendances were around 00/01. Hopefully a few more wins and a sustained challenge for the top spot(s) can attract some more bums on seats at TCS.

Summer football Scandinavia style is the way ahead.

Hopefully it pays off. As long as we get a decent cup run (bear in mind, I'm not delusional saying we will win it) in the Scottish Cup, say 5th/Quarters at most, that'd get his new contract off to a great start.

A run in the cup would be a nice bonus. Automatic promotion would be great but, at the very least, a shot at promotion through the play offs is essential this season.

Nothing short of promotion in May will be acceptable, anything else is a fail.  Surely most fans will not disagree!

teams with far bigger budgets and bigger support than us will be expecting the same so If we do go up it will be some achievement

Caman is right. Summer football will save the team  and others. So what's stopping the Beaks from at least trying  the changeover?

Are they inflexible ? Are they stuck in the mud of their dotage.?

Why? It benefits everyone. The players, the staff, and the crowds can relax and bring the weans . Otherwise where are the future ICT fans going to come from?    Only IHE is immortal so if the weans are not introduced at an early date then what is going to keep them . ? They HAVE to get the bug.

Over and out.

I'm not against it, but the obvious problem is that it puts us out of synch with club and national European and World competitions (except for Qatar 2022).

Would also complicate things in the UK if Scotland and other home nations had different transfer windows.

These are not insurmountable problems.  But is there any demand for it in Scotland?  Neither SP nor I are in the country...

As for commenting upon this topic yes, we do live out of Scotland, but maybe we are also  seeing things from a more dispassionate (i.e more pragmatic) viewpoint.  Otherwise it seems as if we in Scotland will always be kow-towing to the Europeans and living by their rules (which are  frankly really archaic).

By switching to Summer football all the advantages  recognised by the U.S and Canadian teams  will be  adopted, the terracing will be fuller with more spectators going to matches, ice creams can be consumed by standing spectators which one would never do in the Winter ) and so on. And the experience of going to an event is much more pleasant. Weather is more predictable also, Etc.

Robbo has extended his contract until 2021. This is a positive move and should give the squad stability and focus that he is committed to the club and getting us back into the premiership.

Anybody know if there are  any clauses in this contract?

Only the Santa Clause that gave him the contract when he's been making **** all progress.  Going to be like Christmas when he walks with a sizeable pay off in the next few weeks.
