He's being billed as a winger and not a replacement/option up front.

But he has the ability to finish. A very similar player to Walsh but a little more quality. These two paired up will really open the wings up, allow White etc to finish the stuff in the box, and free Polly (hopefully) to start to boss from Midfield. As much as I hate to say it we are missing a player like Vigurs in the midfield and Polly hasn't filled the void left by him completely - he is getting there slowly but we need urgency now if we are to make the play offs. On the whole though, the squad has some real potential.

Somewhat skeptical as it states a fee involved unless we are swapping or offloading some deadwood in return. Afterall we couldn't find money to pay compensation for HL players in the summer.

I wonder if there might be Some spare cash  if  Polly is moving on. I’m still hoping he stays tbh

Not convinced that our signing policy should be based on avoiding players you have never heard of.

Always better to go with the tried and tested when your trying to get out of a league this tough I'm afraid Greg Wylde would've been a good signing he'd have ripped it up u never no tho a lot of decent Irish players out there fingers crossed he's decent!

Wouldn't be too convinced that Macaulay will end up with us.  He's from Derry and still lives there so that's still his preferred option.  Hes unsure about the upheaval for him to move to across the water at this stage in his career. We have offered a better package so this might swing it.

Yes, It could be that our offer will not be sufficient to lure him away from his  home berth. Looks like Derry will get him.

However, if you really want to get-on in this world then you often have to  make brave and bold decisions about leaving home and moving on in the world.

I hope he feels that this is an excellent opportunity for him to  move to Scotland and once again be favoured by a possible future try out for a bigger team than  Caley as he progresses. Timidity + Derry will not be good enough. If he fails again in Scotland to impress then he can always go back to Ireland and spend his days there.

What an opportunity for an aspiring lad  by coming over to join ICT. If he is as good as is reported then when we get back in the Top division  his prowess will shine and he could get a big move..But it's entirely up to him now.

Not often we manage to sign a player when there is competition so well done to the club and the player in risking turning full time at a relatively mature age.

Hopefully, with the TV money we will get from the cup game, we can bring in at least one more before the window closes and push on for a play off place at the very least.

The boy certainly has a good bit of experience and would appear to bring a bigger goal threat than our other midfielders having scored 46 career goals from 179 starts , albeit at a different level than some of the other boys in our midfield. This has to be borne in mind as Trafford has scored 12 goals in his career but not scored for us.

So hopefully his assists are decent too, can’t get details on this

for comparison starts/goals

McCauley 179 / 46

Doran 171 / 32

Walsh 98 / 19

Polworth 152 / 17

Welsh 155/ 14

Trafford 102 / 12

Chalmers 102 / 5

So on paper this is a decent signing , well done to Robbo in securing the transfer.

Gregor what's his strike rate like compared to our strikers?
