Inverness CT -V- Partick Th

Have to agree that was the worst performance at home so far. Lost soft goals and never created any chances. Scrambled goal to give us some hope with 12 mins left however you didn't think we could do it. There keeper didn't have a save to make. Very disappointing following good win at Ayr.

Getting pretty sick of posting the same comments after almost every home game!

That first 45minutes today really was the worst I can remember from an Inverness side. Absolutely pathetic!

Why McKay wasn't hooked at half-time instead of Rooney is a complete mystery.

The only positives I can take from today are that we learned that 1. McKay isn't a central defender, and 2. He's no a right back either! :swear::swear::swear::swear:

Having safely got home having  a glass of red all is at peace in the world the sh----t that I had to endure for 90 mins is now thing of the past or until the next home game. What is going on they are not a team they look like a group  of strangers.

Hahahahahahaha…………

I've only seen a handful of ICT matches since our cup win : each has been more depressing than the last (the cup win v Dumbarton being an exception albeit the quality was still pretty low).

Looking at the posts, seems things haven't improved...………..

You would be hard pressed to see a worse game of football anywhere today . Absolutely shocking no wonder the stands were empty.

One team completely played a hapless referee with their time wasting and gamesmanship the other tried to play route one football very badly and could not muster one decent passage of play the whole 90 minutes.

Roberston talks of mounting a promtion challenge then delivers this utter garbage .

Aimless punting balls forward in old school 442 formation. Apparently it is Jose that football has left behind.

People keep asking why people are staying away. Half way through the first half I suspect most at the game wish they had.

I try to be realistic about my expectations and I have enjoyed a lot of the football we have been playing this season.  Even when we have failed to win we have had spells where we have dominated, played some good attacking football and created several chances.   But not today.  Today we were simply dire from start to finish  Partick must be about the worst team to have come visiting this season but they were a lot better than us.

I can only assume that Tremarco and Donaldson were on the bench because they were not match fit.  But to be honest, it looked as though a good number of those who did start were not match fit. Maybe Austin and Rooney are also carrying injuries or not match fit as they were two of the better players in the first half and it seemed bizarre to take them off.  Young McDonald had a game to forget  and was rightly subbed, but to be fair to him, he got no help from those around him, and no protection from the referee against the physicality of the opposition.  Trafford at least offered some energy and urgency when he came on and McCauley added a little bit of much needed attacking flair.

Five minutes before the end ,McCauley was announced as the sponsor's MOTM.  But he only came on in the 70th minute. I think that rather sums it up!

I think its fairly obvious to us poor fans sitting through that 90 minutes how poor the coaching is this season last season  at least we had Rice this year it is just rank rotten. What does it take for Brad to get dropped his dithering cost us today he is not a central defender and defo not a right back. Lack of leadership from the dugout once again they stand leaning against the dugout like 3 cardboard cutouts. One other thing can the coaches train Brad to be on the pitch side of the lines not the stand sides cause then he is off the pitch DUH!!

Poor team selection, poor tactics, poor application and poor, verging on irrational substitutions.

The only comfort we can take is that our rivals for that final play off, which appears now to be our only realistic target, fared no better. However, even that final play off place will be beyond us if we continue to play as badly as that. On current form, Brad McKay is not a Championship level player.

John Robertson...."We've got a problem at home. We've won two, lost three and drawn the rest. Away from him, we've got a small band of fans that get right behind the team but at home they don't seem to do that."

There we have it folks.....it's all our fault. WTAF :slapme:

Give us something to get behind and we'll get behind you! But all we see the same abject lifeless performances every other week!!! That's a ridiculous comment to make. Don't think I'll bother turning up in future if I'm only going to be a hindrance to the team! Raging! :finger:

Was surprise by Robertson reacting yet again to the fans behind him in the main stand. After one of many attempted crosses which went wide, a fan uttered his displeasure. Robertson turned, offered the fan to come and do better, shouted that the player managed it in training all week then told the fan to '**** Off'.

I don't like fans abusing players, managers etc, but I think the pressure is really getting to Robertson and no wonder. One of the worst teams I can remember seeing,  absolutely bollocks at home all season and there are more empty seats around me each week.

I really feel for my team as I think the future. Looks really bleak ?

Truly awful comment to make from a management team that are pure and simply not upto the task.

Its down to him to get the tactics , formation and motivation right for every game ,home or away. Absolutely no passion on or off the park and that unfortunately carries over into the stands.

Stop looking for excuses and face up to the facts that we were f*****g awful today.

If Robertson said that he has gone way down in my estimation. Trying to deflect the blame from himself even though his team selection, tactics and substitutions were horrendous. There was absolutely nothing to get the fans excited about watching that today. Taking on a centre half and defensive midfielder when we are two down hardly helps. Embarrassing comments from the manager.

That's as bad a performance as I can remember.  Just when you think we might have turned the corner, we  manage to produce a truly woeful performance. I can't remember their keeper making a save. I have said it before, Robbo doesn't have a plan B, and it's obvious now that he doesn't have a plan A either. It was the wrong team selection and wrong tactics.  The game was crying out for width and he flooded the midfield with central midfielders,  we were so narrow. We were second to every ball and made a poor Partick team look good. And for Robbo to blame the home support is totally unacceptable,  give the fans something to shout about and they will react, and to swear at the fan for expressing his opinion is unprofessional. It's very hard to pick a man of the match, the only time we played any decent football was on the lead up to our goal, why couldn't we do that more often? Robbo's subs were baffling today, only he could leave Brad on while others were hooked. Surely we can't play any worse this season, but I wouldn't like  bet on it.

the fans want to support the team  but come on that was woeful today   two silly goals  heads went down  no leadership    pointless blaming the fans they pay good money to watch this    sad when mom is named when only on 20 mins   we seem to be lacking width  nearly every home game     com on give us something to get the fans excited again

Oh dear - and for the large majority of this season this forum was more intent on haranguing the Board and off the pitch issues. Our flaws are ON the pitch. What we have to do - no feck that I will start a new thread. Oh and a wee clue - is Robbo safe ?

Another week another poor home game. Robbo can huff and puff about home fans but weve had 2 wins at home in the league what exactly does he expect?

So many things wrong with todays performance a lot of which the manager and coaching staff need to take the blame for and some things the players.

Firstly did we scout the opposition? Anyone who's read about Partick under Caldwell knows hes played that formation yet we set out a 442 against them first half and were out of ideas with how to play through midfield. Why when it was clear to see we needed to change it did it take till the second half to make two subs?

The substitutions were interesting i think clearly rooney was injured and wasn't tactical to play him ahead of rooney. Although with Donaldson pushing on and far more capable on the ball we'd have been better off playing him at RWB.

Taking Mcdonald off disspointed me going 3 at the back could have been a positive attacking decision against a Partick side who weren't offering much going forward. We could have put mccauley on for him and left Chalmers in the middle but no we played the worst Wing back partbership I've ever seen.

When the second half started Jamie Mccart was playing as the right centre half thankfully this was corrected by management after he tried cutting back in and nearly lost us possesion but where was the forsight?

The final sub could have and should have been for a defender why take Austin off 2 down and chasing the game?

Crowds are negative and do pick on certain players; Polworth and White but only due to the fact we know they are capable and should be doing better.

Would struggle to give out pass marks to anyone today. Mackay in goals bar maybe coming for the 1st, Mccart sloppy in possession but swept up well at times and i would struggle to mention anyone else.

I picked the wrong game to take my 7 year old grandson to: that was woeful, and even he knew that.

We started ok, but lost two quick goals, and never really got any control of the match.

I assume Rooney had an injury, but the second half formation threw me and seemed a bit desperate. At times, it was 2-6-2 with McCart and McHattie at the back and Coll effectively a right wing back with McKay ahead of him and almost a target man towards the end. If we were planning to attack, why did we not have Mackay or MacGregor coming on at half time, or McCauley earlier?

Only positives for me were the couple of saves from Cammy Mackay, McCart being solid at the back, even when playing on the right of defence, and McCauley: he is definitely worth a start.

Looking forward, I assume Tremarco and Donaldson will be fit for the cup, and I bumped into Ridgers before the game and he was close to being available today and believes he will make the cup game.

A bad day, but we started without Ridgers, Tremarco, Donaldson, Doran and Walsh, so there is still room for positivity about getting a play off place.

Going away from the ground yesterday I wondered, for the first time since he was appointed, whether John Robertson was the right man for the job. Today, in the cold right of day, I am still not sure.

I hope that, over the remainder of the season, things improve and faith in the manager and his ability is restored.

Disappointing to read both Robbos comments about the lack of support but also him reacting to a fan.  I get it, it’s just not acceptable is it?  I thought Trafford made a big difference when he came on, certainly his best performance so far.  Actually thought White and Austin were linking ok and Macauley looks a good signing.  I’m slightly hesitant to “blame” Cammy for the goal but feel ge was perhaps culpable, but he then made a couple of good stops and I think has done a good job coming in at the last minute. I would hope that the boys are reflecting today and will channel their anger at Dingwall......
