IMG_20190430_145624.jpg2-0 @ Half Time to ICT

Two quick goals just before the break, Morrison and MacGregor. Matheus the architect of everything good, smacked the crossbar in the build up to first goal and great run along line to help set up second. This boy is absolute quality.

Well worth the lead at the break.

Should have been a third just after the break, ball across face of goal just missed by forwards and Matheus shoots just over,  corner for his effort.

Second half goals from MacGregor and MotM Matheus Machado completed the scoring at 4-0.

Matheus at it again with another superb chip. What a star.

Maybe not being able to import talent twice a year like County will bear fruit in due course.

The most successful and promising crop of youngsters we've had in a long time. Well done to them and the coaches.

I noticed this game was on earlier this afternoon but unfortunately too late to go along.  There was a note posted on the ICT website yesterday saying that a win would secure the U18 Performance Tier League title for the lads.   So, seeing as they won the game, they must have won the title so huge congratulations to the youngsters and to the coaching staff for what is undoubtedly a very impressive performance.  It's just a shame I didn't know about this earlier or else I would have gone along.

Let's hope the club is doing all it can to ensure those deemed good enough to get contracts with the first team squad are signed up on deals beyond a single year and with sell on clauses.  Having achieved what they have, some of them will undoubtedly be subject of interest from bigger clubs than us.

Problem being that there is a huge gap between u18s and 1st team...Really missing reserves now.

maybe we should be looking at a reserve team next year, keep the best from u18 squad and add the best of the u17's. It would also give valuable game time to 1st team squad players not getting a regular game.

Good result even if that wasn’t near their best performance. When they hit top form they can really pull teams apart but today definitely wasn’t their sharpest. Be good to see them progressing as a unit because they have a great spirit about them.

I hope one day we can afford a reserve team like these other clubs.

How many of them run U18s? Ayr, Queens do ....Livingston sometimes turned up...the others I’m not so sure. Very interesting position to address next season!

all these teams bar Livi and Ayr are lower league. where are all the Prem and Championship reserves playing?

There are two reserve leagues. Last season there was 3, a premiership and two which were split east and west. My point was, if teams like East Kilbride can or Queen of the South then we really have no excuse.

Article makes a lot of sense for the bigger clubs but we have absolutely  no pathway for this group of u18's. Loans to highland league?. Why not do a deal with Clach as a feeder team. Our boys could play against men each week and if they mature quickly enough they could come back into our first team squad.

The silence on the wider development side since Danny departed is a bit of a concern.

The club now only has one coach left who holds the qualifications to be Academy Director and no announcement seems to have been made on this.
