Wait for it when we go crashing out early doors the happy clappers it's a nonsense cup who wants to win this! I'll be buzzing if we win it

As I've said before, I don't believe that any cup is a nonsense cup.  Sure, some may be more important than others, but the effects on a team's confidence of doing well (or badly) are very real.

Winning this cup in 2018 initiated a great run-in to the end of the season.

This is the games we should be encouraging youth, start with a couple of the younger lads and lets see what they can do. After all if we won't do it in these games then when will we?!

I agree there's no such thing as a nonsense cup but it's about priorities and this one surely ranks lowest of them all so make it work for the good of the squad if nothing else.

True story put a couple of the young guns in dunno how many are left? It does rank low but winning games builds confidence and flip side no easier cup to win than this also chance of a good away day hopefully we'll go the distance COYC!

Have we many young lads left? Apart from the ones who make up numbers on the bench do we actually have any left?

What ever happened to the foundation that was being set up to help fund the academy and increase opportunity for our youngsters?  Surely the aim of that foundation isn't to ship them all out en masse for others to look after?

Indeed what has happened to the foundation? Little has been said about the replacement for Danny (seems to be Charlie)

Project Brave has no place for over 18s and we are not in the Reserve League. If we don't 'ship them all out en masse' they will not have any football to play apart from friendlies.

Does leave a question as to whether it was a good decision to give contracts to 10 development team players if there is not a route to first team football for them??

Utter dire draw. Can't they just seed the Championship sides and prevent same league draws until later in the cup?

Look on the bright side. Playing a championship side means it’s less embarrassing when we lose!

Seriously though, I hate the concept of seeding. The beauty of the cup competitions is the opportunity for the wee teams to sneak their way into the latter stages of the competition and have the kind of big day out against the top teams that fans will talk about for years to come.  Seeding is just another way of making it more likely that the big clubs will be the beneficiaries of the more lucrative big games.
