Must be dearer for the clubs with the youngsters not paying but there would be many who couldn’t afford it I’m sure and we could miss out on a gem. A double edged sword really   No easy answers

I think the whole Project Brave has been a "jobs for the boys" exercise at Scottish level creating lots of extra admin jobs in the central belt and is costing small clubs a lot of money they can't afford.  Is it any better than what clubs had in place before?

I very much doubt it.

a great turnout at the supporters meeting tonight, a lot of good information was said with a lot of clarity. it definitely puts my mind at ease with regards to our financial situation and brought a lot more understanding to our youth setup aswell.

  • Thanks 3

Interesting the figures Duncan Shearer quotes. Much less than the club are claiming and I didn’t realise the youth themselves have to pay  as well.

Presumably though the costs Shearer will be familiar with are pre Project Brave so there might well have been an increase in costs since he left the club?

Apparently it was mentioned last night that 3 players have already told the club they will not be renewing their deals when they expire in the summer.

Thats not actually what was said. 3 players have rejected offers to resign at the moment abd want to wait

Yes must agree with OCG at no point was it mentioned that they wouldn’t be renewing and Scott Gardiner was saying they will still be having talks with them. Whether successful or not time will tell. I came out last night feeling positive and our new chairman really does seem to have the club at heart which was good to see.

Is this assuming we don't lift the title?

In terms of gratitude, as supporters we owe a great deal to those who have worked very hard and achieved financial success, and then in effect donate to their football club. Imagine where the club would be if that was not the case. To the outgoing chairman and his associates, we owe them a debt of gratitude. What is important going forward is a clear need to return to good stewardship.

Wonder who it is 1 of them be big White since we never sold him to St Mirren should've sold him if he wanted the move tbh! Surely not Doran ?

Have a feeling it's going to be him, Carly and Coll. Carl, probably more likely to retire than move on elsewhere, as he's pretty settled here with his family in the last 6 years. Doran, I don't know, he's a big wage player, and he's almost in his 30s, and been here for just about 10 years, so he might look back home to Ireland or somewhere down south, but that said, he's been settled here since 2011, he might stay on, as I doubt he'd abandon us for C*unty considering the time and dedication he's put in for us. And Coll, again, relatively big wage, but he's promising, so has potential elsewhere.

Can't really see anyone else rejecting a contract extension, doubt it'd be any of the youngsters like Dan Mackay or Roddy, cos there hasn't been any significant interest in them from any other club, so they'd be throwing away their career by rejecting a new contract. All the rest seem pretty committed to the club, can't see it being Ridgers, Trafford could potentially be one, maybe Brad.

Realistically, we have to be looking at the bench warmers for the contract refusers, as there are a bunch who are regulars on the bench and rarely see game time, and would likely be looking elsewhere for game time.

TBH, given that there are some who have never really broken into the team or cemented a place they shouldn't be offered contracts at this stage (things may yet change as he season progresses for all parties) unless the club are going to use them to replace a know departing party otherwise give youth a chance.

It has always been my view that those who want to leave should be allowed to go.

No. The first £250k is made up of various folk including current directors.

Thanks. Hopefully more to come to give stability for now but, as others have said, we need a robust plan to avoid this recurring.

Before we can get a 'robust' plan, or any kind of plan for that matter, those who choose to 'invest' need to know how the funds are being distributed at the moment as there are too many sets of random figures going about that don't add up.

Let's just hope the days of behind the scenes squabbles or pi55ing contests are behind us so that we can begin to formulate a plan based on correct fiscal details.

Time for Alan Savage to stop sniping from the background and put some investment in.

Totally agree. Time to put up or shut up! Or at least tell us if they dont intend to invest why.
