Inverness CT -V- Alloa

I missed the game due to a family birthday so interested in the views above.

I thought we were poor in last week’s win, and it sounds like we were poorer today.

We are missing Walsh and Welsh. Hopefully Walsh is back soon. Any word on him or Todorov?

Of what I’ve seen of Storey, he is better playing wide, but not as effective as Walsh.

Keatings can hopefully start next week and we continue our success against Morton.

Sounds like today was a good day to be unable to attend, though.

I thought McGregor was the one bright spot today. He was always looking for the ball and looked our most dangerous attacker in my opinion.

James Vincent on the other hand needs to know that it's ok to pass the ball forward. So many backways and sideways passes when we had the chance to move forward.

Thought Robbo hit the nail on the head in his post match interview. The middle were not providing much for the attackers. Too often the ball passed sideways and backwards. How many times did the young lad run into space pointing where he wanted the ball only for it to be put sideways? So few play with their heads up and see the movement ahead. The pace was missing today from the middle and Carson made a difference coming on as he drove at the defence and made space for others.

Having said that we have got to remember Alloa  beat Utd....

To be frank, there has been a lot of uncalled for negativety on this result. Had it not been for one minute of poor play, we would all have been celebrating being top of the league. Even after losing the equaliser, we almost won the game with Keating's free kick but luck didn't go for us. In essence, while we did not play particularly well, we still came so close to winning and if you can play badly and win you have a good chance of winning things.

That said, midfield needs changing and it showed how much we missed Welsh. Vincent and Trafford were poor but especially Vincent who hardly passed forward all day and, again, failed to win or make a tackle all day while Trafford's tackling was beyond poor. When your central midfield fails to function, you will struggle in games.

Final word on the referee who was the poorest we have had this season, and that is saying something. Inconsistent on giving fouls for similar offences, didn't give a blatant foul/penalty on White, ridiculous booking of Carson and how he and the linesman missed the blatant pull on Doran as he was racing through was incredible.

Don't know about the 'uncalled for  negativity' ...a spade is a spade and we weren't good enough in various aspects of the game.

As for blaming the ref for our shortcomings...thats just old firm!

Have to agree with this view of the game.

Whew!

Remarks on here today are deflating. Yes, McCart has always had promise but to blame him so soundly for putting the ball out for a throw -in seems harsh. First of all he's human and will make a mistake. Secondly,  It may have been a lethal play but there must be other factors involved as well :-  e.g. where were the defenders positioned to stymie  the opposite team getting  possession? When the throw -in was taken who was marking  the throwees? So maybe coaching of him and other players must be improved and the fact of a better performance being  essential must be  inculcated into their minds.

But--it's a team game and maybe it was just an overall low performance situation? And, therefore, perhaps  Robbo must  put his foot down and warn the players that this is simply not good enough and changes will take place if there is not a much better and  thoughtful effort. He has a tough job but he's the boss and must instigate a bit of ruthlessness into his job if he can't get through to the players either making bad mistakes or not putting out the effort...…?

For the sake of the future of our club he has to goad the players  and then encourage all of them after they respond. No response? ......Then bring in other players and show them who is boss.

What else can you suggest, eh?
