Scottish cup tie v Livingston

The BBC has a very good article on the second coming of Livingston.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51368590       After the Alloa cup victory there was a sense of 'winnable' after the next round draw. We have a very good cup record especially under Robbo, but after Livy savour their trip tomorrow to Dingwall, we certainly do have an almighty cup tie this Saturday when they make their second journey up the A9 in a few days. Livy start as massive favourites.

We could be in with a shout of winning. Who knows what they'll prioritise, cup or league, but what seems likely is they won't play a fully fresh squad. Here's hoping that C*unty give them a good run about tomorrow night...

We aren't winning. We can't even beat a part time championship team.

Ahhhh   the pre-cup tie optimism...

As jaggie says we cant break down part time Alloa at home!  But it is the cup and hopefully the players will not need much prompting to get fired up and get stuck in to Livvy ( i hate Livvy )

So Robbo will surely get a freebie for Dungwell tonight and spy on the (both) scum.

Five wins on the trot for Livi going into this game so you'd imagine they will be feeling confident although it doesn't look like they've got a good record on grass pitches. The significant majority of their wins have come at home. The last time they won away on a grass surface was back in August against Ross County.

Livi won't need to bother watching us as we haven't changed our style of play since last season.

Doom and gloom merchants love this forum, maybe consider Rigs post and think positively for a change.

Allloa in case any is doubting were the form team in the division when we played them on Saturday .

2nd in league , semi final of challenge cup and one game away from quarter finals of scottish cup , not too bad a season imo.

I think we have enough to compete with Livingston and remain confident, but ffs Gregor.  Maybe if you didn't spout the whole "Jordan is a God" position (when he's clearly not) the whole fecking time then people wouldn't push back so hard in the opposite direction.  Give it a rest for everyone's sake, you're starting to sound like one of those embarrassing parents you happen upon down the park when the kids are playing.

We are underdogs on Saturday but have a good cup pedigree so we have every chance.

Lets hope we get a decent home support, perhaps even some vocal support from the YT, and the team rises to the occasion.

Reading the piece on Livingston on the BBC Sport website, they are strong at home but struggle a bit away from home. That should give us confidence that we can compete with them and get a result.

If Welsh is fit enough to start, that bolsters our midfield and gives support to whatever our defence ends up being. Hopefully Rooney and McHattie both make it, but if we need to turn to Harper that does not worry me as he has looked good when I have seen him, and Tremarco has covered at centre half before.

So I am responsible for the doom and gloom merchants now lol, behave yourself Buster.

The post above was your reply to my post below.

At least stick to the subject in the correct thread.

2-0 C*unty. 57 mins, Billy Mckay both goals. Either they're playing a weak team, or are just rubbish...

Or perhaps RC have players better than us hence why they have poached our best talent and are relitavely comfortable in the league above which will likely continue given the strengthening they completed in the Jan window? Polar opposites to ICT, when it was only a wk ago folks were creaming themselves about (the highly unrealistic scenario of) wanting BM back on loan from RC..............

We can be guaranteed that livi will come back on Sat looking for an immediate response and will be in our faces from KO, in contrast we will no doubt start with our usual pedestrian tempo and making slack passes and gifting the ball away, if this is the outcome as feared were in for an extremely difficult afternoon

Livingston last 6 results on grass this season

Lost 2-0 to Ross County

Lost 2-1 to Aberdeen

Draw 3-3 with St Mirren

Draw 1-1 with Hearts

Lost 4-0 to Celtic

Lost 2-1 to Motherwell

Won None

Draw 2

Lost 4

Not exactly world beaters on grass so Caley can certainly match them imo

Prior to last night County had won 2 out of their last 17 games and fans were seriously questioning replacing Kettlewell and Ferguson. They are hardly comfortable.

Plenty worse than county in their league, their problem has been at the back, tighten that and the rest of their team starts to look better...now they have vigurs & draper fit they have a much healthier outlook.  Like Livingston , win your home games and the rest takes care of itself.
Livingston will be hurting after last night , if anyone thought we would catch them cold will be sorely mistaken.
They will be well motivated for this game.

Was proper confident last week but thinking about how poor wev actually played this season and tbf the last 3 seasons might stick a £10 on Livi 2-0 maybe big Dykes first scorer least that'll pay for my tickets and pie! And if we do actually send shockwaves round Europe by winning £10 nothing to a man big in O and G like myself
