He's on about the set capacity being about 400 people. Thought it was at least 2.3k, at least under the 30% capacity rule, or has that rule been thrown out the window?

It's not as simple as taking the capacity and calculating 30% of that figure. They need to ensure that there is sufficient space around every potentially occupied seat, in the aisles of the stands etc. which further reduces the maximum number of people that could attend.

Is this game tomorrow being aired in any way?

Doesn't look like it. As has been said before on here they might have looked at the Cowdenbeath game as a test event for the streaming service but it might come too soon for whatever reason.

Cowdenbeath have first option to stream to fans, but if they don’t then we are still able to stream and all profits are to be split 50/50.

Why would Cowdenbeath as the away side have first option to stream? :furtive: Certainly wouldn't complain if they do as they seem to have something set up and I'd happily chuck them a few quid to be able to see the match.

As RiG says you can't just calculate 30%. As Gardiner explained in one of the podcasts, you can't just use every third seat in a row, as the distancing goes out the window the minute somebody wants to leave their seat and go for a pee. Gardiner was actually talking about removing seats round about. The 30 % would be much easier in stadiums with terracing.

It's all a nightmare for the club.  There is a considerable amount of extra expense involved and yet the club is expected to go about its business when paying customers who account for a majority of the club's income are not allowed into the ground.  The club has gone to the expense of ensuring the showers comply with the social distancing requirements but then get told that it is not considered safe to use the showers in any case.  It is desperately  frustrating for all involved, but regardless of whether or not some of the ever changing requirements make sense to us or not, the club needs to comply with them and needs our understanding and patience.

Exactly. this. If you have one person sitting in a seat then essentially 3 seats around them in every direction need to be vacant to ensure social distancing.

Disappointing the club haven't even addressed the issue surrounding the lack of a stream for the game. A simple "not ready, working on it, hope to be ready for the first home league match" type of message would have sufficed. Meanwhile Cowdenbeath have confirmed it will be a closed door match so no stream from them either.

The club say they wanted to offer the stream for free but were forbidden to do so because of competition rules.

Why would it need to be free? I don't understand this line. Other more  apparently organised clubs like Brora have it in place for this week and are charging £9 odd.  I doubt fans even care much about graphics or anything fancy like that.

Given it's our first home game in months and Highland League teams are managing to do it I find it dissapointing and slightly embarrassing tbh.

If we are to take the club statement at face value it's because of rules the SPFL have set for the competition (See Section 10 of the competition rules). For the group stages a minimum charge for the group games applies (See 21.4).

That said, there are options to charge less than the "Board Minimum Recommended Price of Ground Admission" but it needs the agreement of the away team as well. So we could have charged whatever we wanted with the agreement of Cowdenbeath. In fact, given the definition of "match ground" in the rules it might even be argued that these rules don't apply seeing as no one would be getting admission to the ground itself.

Yeah that's my point. We could have easily charged for it between say five and ten quid but we seem to have wanted to do it for free but not being allowed, decided bizarrely that it's better for nobody to see the game at all than charge. 🤷‍♂️

We seem to be the only club now who has nothing in place yet.

Given that much smaller clubs with even fewer resources have handled this so much more professionally, this is both a disappointment and an embarrassment.

Unlike many part time clubs who have managed, we have a full time, well rewarded, CEO. Just what has he been doing ?

The way I read it was that they are still testing the system so making it free tonight would have been a bonus for fans. At least it sounds like the system is good to go for the league games.

That's the way I read it too. You can just imagine the melt down from some on this site had they been charged for the game and there were problems with the streaming. The quality of streaming from some games has been variable if you listen to some fans so better to get it right than short change fans for a substandard product.

Can't get anywhere near 30% capacity and maintain 2m distancing jack.

He described the maths of it pretty well on the podcast but basically every person is the centre of  a 9 seat bubble (720) and to make matters worse they all need safe access and egress to seats. (400).

Hearts have cemented their status as firm title favourites with a thoroughly convincing victory over Dundee to kick off their league campaign.

All the more incentive for us to beat the Pars. If we are to having any chance of automatic promotion we can't afford to let any gap develop between ourselves and the Jambos even at this early stage.

The game tonight was a really good advertisement for the Championship with some terrific goals from both sides.  On that form, Hearts are going to run away with the league.  Dundee may have got a gubbing but that was more to do with Hearts' very clinical finishing.  Dundee scored 2 very good goals and had other decent efforts.  If they can tighten up defensively they will be very much in the mix at the end of the season.

Without Doran, Carson, Storey or Kennedy available for our opener, we will do very well to get anything out of the game.  The number of pre-season injuries is really pretty alarming and we need players up to match fitness and to stay injury free if we are to reach the play offs.  This will be a difficult season for us in so many ways.  Hopefully Togetherness will see us through.

Hearts will finish 20+ points ahead of us this season. It’s all about the playoffs and Dunfermline will likely be right up there. It’s a pity we are playing them when we aren’t ready for the season to start.

That may well end up being the case but the wonderful thing about sport is it's unpredictability and I don't think that we, or any other team in the division, should be regarding that as inevitable before we have even kicked a ball in anger.

Somewhat off topic, but any word on a sponsorship of some sort with the local Audi Dealership? Saw an Audi on a Car Transporter heading north with the club crest on the plates, which IIRC were "CA11Y J46S" or something along those lines.

One thing which doesn't quite make sense is why it was coming from down south (if it was already in ownership by the club) rather than heading to to the local place in the Longman?

Might be over thinking things here...
