Don't see why they're not streaming it as a test run ahead of the games later this season.

streaming costs money if the club are doing it. Theres a fair bit of infrastructure (and red tape) berhind the streaming arrangements and copyrights, its not as simple as having someone go live on facebook or similar (although for friendlies I guess it could be).

It certainly does, even if just really a match to try to get some sharpness in before the league starts.

Let’s not expect too much from today’s game. The team has not played since March and we have a few new faces including a largely new defence, so if we fail to make an impact today, let’s not get wild with them!

Good to see Robbo talking positively ahead of the new season.

IMG_20200925_132421.jpgSo, whats new I hear you say.........

Some are brand new to Inverness and some have come back for another shot at it. Coming back again after seven years away is striker Shane Sutherland coming in from Elgin City. Also returning is defender Danny Devine who had been at Partick Thistle and Dunfermline since he won the Scottish Cup with ICT in 2015.

Brand spanking new to the Caley Jags is defender Robbie Deas who was on the books at Celtic but had been loaned out to Cowdenbeath and Alloa Athletic over the last couple of seasons. The twenty year old will be a contender for central defence.  Scott Allardice ply's his trade in midfield and began his career at Tannadice. He moved over to Ireland and played for Bohemians and Waterford.

We will also see more of Daniel Mackay who returns from his loan at Elgin and the likes of Lewis Toshney, Cameron Harper and Roddy MacGregor.

Stepping up to join the big boys are Academy graduates Ryan Fyffe and Harry Nicolson who have developed considerably in their loan spell at Ft William FC.

Sadly, we have had to lose some essential players like Captain Carl Tremarco, Col Donaldson, Tom Walsh, Jamie McCart, Shaun Rooney and Jordan White. The silver lining in that could see more game time for Nikolay Todorov, Kevin McHattie, Roddy MacGregor, Daniel Mackay and the emergence of our young team in what will be a challenging season on and off the park.

I believe that Brad Mackay is injured and might miss the start of the season.

Interesting line up with Nicolson starting at right back and good to see Harper, MacGregor and Mackay all starting along with all four new signings. Devine a bit of a surprise as captain.

Is it a 4 4 2 with Sutherland and Todorov up front?

Do we have any injury concerns at present, given the absence of Mckay, McHattie, Welsh, Carson, Vincent and Doran from the squad?

Think Shane will be a good replacement for Polworth. And great to see 4 different scorers today. Just need to sort the back out and hopefully we will be contenders this season.

Encouraging start. Will be interested to learn our formation and whether we changed it with the substitutions. Looking at the starting defence, other than Devine they are all youngsters and we have more experienced options available.

Good to see most of our youngsters get game time

Hopefully it has helped get some up to match sharpness and it helps Robbo pinpoint what and who we need to work on before the real stuff starts.

Thanks to tm4j for adding the twitter updates in this topic too.

Just a kickabout in the park,  as JR pointed out, don't read too much into this pre season fare...a lot more of the same required to get the bodies back into the rigours of increasingly repetitive activity.

Maybe so but there would be plenty of grumbling and a bit of concern if we had lost 7 goals instead of scoring 7.

Of course it's very early days but, in the current circumstances, I am inclined to embrace the positive when it comes.

The positive is we are back into training & playing,  keeping the squad healthy and injury free while we aim to reach a level where we can begin to see how our team will shape up.

Everyone will get game time,  often out of position just to get the squad rotating successfully.

Without being there it's hard to get any idea of performance aside from second hand reports...which will be very strange once competition starts.

Will there be a commentary set up?

Good to see our main man getting a double Miles obvs hopefully the pennies dropped and Robbo will actually play him in his proper position!

Storey was listed as number 9 today. If this is his new squad number maybe Robbo has seen what you have in Miles Alan.

I saw Toddy listed as 17 so assumed Storey had inherited 9.

The club website still shows last season’s numbers so not totally clear who will have what number. What we know so far:

1. Ridgers

2. ? Possibly B Mckay?

3. ? Possibly McHattie?

4. Welsh

5. Toshney

6. Devine

7. Keatings

8. Carson

9. Storey

10. Doran

11. Sutherland

12. MacGregor

14. Vincent (assumed)

15. D Mackay

16. Harper

17. Todorov

18. Allardice

20. H Nicolson

21. C Mackay (assumed)

24. Deas

Not known unless someone has seen the subs numbers today:

Fyffe

Hyde

Harkness

L Nicolson (from a google search he was called up by Scotland under 15s in 2019 so presumably part of the development squad?)

MacKinnon

Have I missed anyone?

Good to see that the youngsters got a run out today :).

Sounds like Cameron Harper and Roddy McGregor were the stand outs going by the after match interview from the gaffer.

He did hint at needing more firepower if he can so that suggests we could expect a couple more signings before the deadline Monday week, more than likely a striker and Defo RB.

Hopefully he's wasted out wide dunno why Robbo persists in playing him there not as if our strikers have been even remotely prolific in recent seasons Robbo himself would still bag more goals than them

There's a friendly at Nairn on Tuesday night and although these players were not risked at Elgin, (Brad McKay, Kevin McHattie, Sean Welsh, James Vincent, David Carson and Aaron Doran), Vincent, Welsh and Carson should return for Tuesday night's game at Nairn.
