Scotland Under 21's

Good to see Cammy, Robbie and Roddy called up for the friendlies next month. Also nice to see Daniel in the squad to,  even if the SFA cocked up and has him down as a Caley player and not Hibs.

u21 call ups for Caley Jags four

“And similarly, the work John Robertson and his staff have put in to further develop the boys and transition them from the Academy into first team players and stand outs at that, has been exceptional. Robbie Deas has also come into the ICT team this season and has been exceptional from start to finish, even playing out of position and excelling at left back. He deserves the recognition. Seeing that ICT are second only in numbers to Rangers in the Scotland squad gives all of us such a great sense of pride.”

*Dan is of course still an ICTFC player until his contract expires in June and I’m sure that he acknowledges that this call up has truly been made in Inverness!

Many congratulations to our boys, including Daniel even though he’s not officially still ours.   A great result for ICT back room staff working and bringing on our local boys.   Well done to these youth coaches.

A pretty exceptional achievement for a second tier club to have four boys named in the Under 21 squad.  I can't imagine this has happened too many times in the past.  I just hope that this encourages the club to continue to invest in the Academy and that we can see more local boys breaking into the first team and hopefully gaining international recognition.  Well done to Charlie and the Academy staff for continuing to unearth and nurture talent given the fairly limited resources at their disposal.

That’s great for the youngsters and the club. All the more so as all the Scottish based players are with top league teams apart from our four and Rudden of Partick Thistle. Hopefully some of them get game time when the matches take place on 2 and 5 June.

Regarding Dan, the * section of the article copied above explains why he is recorded as our player.

Terrific achievement from the players and coaches.  And what an inspiration for the youngsters coming on behind.  It has been such a challenging season in so many ways, so this is wonderfully positive news with which to end the season.

A great credit to our youth coaches and the boys themselves.

We have done all right over the years trawling the English lower leagues and non league for talent but, for all sorts of reasons, developing our own talent is by far the better option.

For anyone wanting to go cheer the lads on, both games are in Dumbarton on the 2nd and 5th of June at 3pm and 2pm respectively.

Unfortunately it's too early for fans to be allowed in, but apparently it's not too hard to see into the ground from outside...

Dumbarton is in level 2, thought you could have 500 fans no questions asked, more if you asked and had an acceptable plan? If so, this is pretty poor from the SFA.

No live stream for the game?

Tremendous experience for the lads to have had no matter how much game time they got which should boost their confidence and benefit us greatly.

Couldn't be a better advertisement for tempting young talent to our club - a grand job by all involved in the Academy youth development, well done all 👏

so they take in 10 new boys but our three not deemed good enough despite two of them playing week in week out, and playing very well. No wonder Scottish football never progresses

Central belt bias writ large.
