On the foorball front, I am probably more worried about the effects of injury and suspension rather than Covid which is why, if at all possible from a financial point of view, that we strengthen in the transfer window.

This is probably our best opportunity to get back into the Premiership since we were relegated.

Eh, if the same thing happens as last time, we're up as Champions, C*unty stay up and there'll be Premiership derbies once again. And no better way to go up than off the back of a 6-1 humping...

Caley winning 6-1 away, and Palace beating Everton at home [deservedly] for the first time in years makes E4C a very happy bunny.

Good to see Jamieson and McClear get their first league goals for the club, and Sutherland deserved his brace on recent performances....looking forward to a trip up North of the Border for Killie away in January, just hope I'm not screwed by more Covid restrictions

The havoc will arise from players isolating under the new rules leaving us heavily depleted, or not being able to field a team.

Remember that as well as being together in training and for matches, we have players who house share and others who socialise with each other outside of work so plenty of opportunity for close contacts having to isolate for 10 days under these new rules, even if they don’t have Covid.

All the more reason to stay TOP. Anything could happen to the remainder of the season now, and if they decide to promote/relegate on current results at anytime, then we want to be in pole position at all times.

You beat me to it. Absolutely agree.

Whilst I don't think it's probable, with the effect of the new omicron variant being unknown, there remains the possibility that the season could be terminated early so, as you say, now that we have regained top spot, there is a huge additional incentive to hold onto it.

Staying,or trying to stay top is blatantly obvious...

What Yngwies' post illustrates is the challenge to do that with the possibility of missing several key players at the first positive test.

Our squad is pretty thin and tends to struggle with only one or two absentees.

Paper weightings possibly also contribute. The P&J for example had many at 6 and 7 and Mckay as MOM. I agree Allardice is underrated.

The longer the likes of Allardice and McGregor go under the radar of larger clubs the better.

I don’t think the people who decide these things actually watch the games.

I suspect it works along the lines of ”ICT had a good win, and this guy scored 2 goals so let’s put him in…”

Very true.

Sadly, one of the many morons on Radio Scotland each Saturday, Allan "Biscuits" Preston, thinks nothing of trying to move on his players whilst on Sportsound and he's talked up MacGregor no end by all accounts. He's being watched by other teams and we've turned down bids for him recently as well. Enjoy him while you can.

At least they are under contract so if they get the chance of a bigger club, we will get a transfer fee. Having these guys, and the likes of Carson, on decent length contracts may turn out to be a great move by the Board.

It is a welcome change from the past when we lost good players and got nothing.

I understand that in the English Premiership over a quarter of the players have refused to be vaccinated which may be contributing to the slew of postponements we are seeing just now.

I would hope that at our level such selfish lunacy is much less prevalent.

What’s selfish about that?

If we don't win next week against Hamilton we might have to meet up and talk about cars, lorries and buses instead of going to the home game against Partick Thistle

What you doing next Sunday??

We should get a win as it's my wife's birthday and we are having a family dinner so I don't think I will be able to sneak out!
