"However, we suspended these discussions when it became clear that the gap between buyer expectations and seller ability to deliver was unlikely ever to be bridged."

Seriously? Should that not be reversed?

I originally read that as Ketwana being the seller - selling his finance services to the club - and therefore the club being the buyer.  That would make sense, meaning that the Board eventually realised that he was a fantasist with nothing behind him.

However, I suppose it could mean that he, as buyer, found out that the club, as seller, didn't have the assets that he thought, such as the land around the stadium.

Either way, we dodged a bullet.  But there's heavier artillery incoming now.

Even if somehow the £1.5m was secured from somewhere, . . . . 'second place finish in the league' ? - not a chance, with the current management incumbents!

ICT had slow starts gor many years, give the boss and team a chance.

Fundraiser now up and running on Go Fund Me.  Currently standing at £10!

I'm struggling with this Go Fund Me malarky tbh. £200k in two weeks? What happens after that? Another Go Fund Me for November etc etc? Don't get me wrong, I don't want ICTFC to die. Those folk at the top that got us into this mess in the first place have more money than me and they're all collectively responsible for it so maybe they should cough up.

Fantastic gesture from Big Dunc - hoping that now even the fans that don't think he is the right man for the job really rally behind him as he has demonstrated he is doing all he can for the club.

My idea for quick injection of cash - glamour friendlies against Everton and Newcastle.

BREAKING .... press release just issued

Quote
The club can confirm Mr Panos Thomas has resigned with immediate effect as a Director and the Interim Chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC's Board of Directors.

Mr Thomas said it was with deep regret that he was standing down and explained his decision was due to a personal family reason.

He said: "I would like to thank my fellow directors, staff and players at the club, the supporters and shareholders for their tremendous support to me during my short time in the role as Interim Chairman.  I will always fondly remember the resilience, tenacity and endeavour of those folk whom I worked with.

"It is now time for me to hand over to others to find a way forward for the club that I have supported wholeheartedly since moving to the Highlands to live.  I wish everyone at the club the very best for the future."

A retired orthopaedic surgeon,  Mr Thomas was appointed a Director on 23  February 2023 and Interim Chairman on 3 August 2024.

The club would like to place on record our thanks to Mr Thomas for his efforts as a Director and as Interim Chairman and wish him the very best for the future. Mr Scott Young now becomes Interim Chairman of the club.

The club would like to also place on record our thanks to Mr Allan Munro who resigned from the board last week. Mr Munro rejoined the board in November 2019. We wish Mr Munro the very best in the future.

We're also pleased to have launched the 'Save ICT' fund this afternoon. The crowdfunding is through GoFundMe.

You can donate to the fundraiser from the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/inverness-caledonian-thistle-fc

Any supporters with fundraising ideas can now email the club on [email protected].

We have reached over £9,000 in donations within the first two hours.

We are also preparing for Monday's Open Meeting, which will now be chaired by Interim Chairman Scott Young, in the Highlander Suite at 7.30pm. We are expecting high numbers and will prepare the room to maximise the space available.

Nice ideas but sadly i think we'd get higher gate monies if he got a huns select from his time there to play us, bring out the Inverness orange pound. Probably more interest in the city than seeing EPL youths and reserves

In fairness he was only appointed just over a year ago, by which time our demise was well underway and most of the damage had been done. He also also shown plenty of willingness to work with and communicate with fans.

Absolutely agree he seems more grounded and engaged than other directors. I understand he has not put a penny into the club, so why is he now in a position to preside over the club given he was in a great position to challenge the previous regimes actions. Was it because he was appointed by RM & SG ???

Over 1 1/2 years. That's a long time to question the CEO who was running the club into the ground by misadventure. He also remained silent at the end of the season when players like Doran were left to deal with their own future and knees. They are all culpable and their lack of conscience is worrying.

Aye Charles, 3,4,5...... Pick a number, add those that are already gone, multiply it by Thousands and there's the answer. This Massive debt is not owned by just one man.

As said before, there is definitely a Netflix move in there somewhere.
