If discussions have not already been undertaken some weeks ago, I would approach Graeme Stewart and see if an arrangement could be made for the remainder of this season, with an option for both parties to consider an extra year extension if we stayed up and the ‘direction’ of the team was considered worth-while by the new owners.

You're assuming that we will be allowed to sign/employ new people.  And have the money.  I have no idea.

The administrators will want a cheap option - ideally someone who is already employed by the club who can take on the extra role with minimal extra remuneration.

Charlie Christie would have been an obvious choice but he's now got CEO responsibilities.

Sounds like Bollan and Garden are gone too (Ferguson said "my two coaches have left") so that would leave Kellacher as an option.

There's also the possibility of asking senior players whether they would take over management duties - Billy Mckay has already been involved in coaching the youth teams...

Christie will be involved,  his CEO stint is at an end. Ross Jack to assist.

Sad day but inevitable cuts with many more to follow .Kellacher always seem to dodge the drop now and when previous managers got sacked- has he got something to offer or is he well in or cheap ?

Sorry to see dunc go.

Watched him follow the team out on Saturday, while heading to the dugout he spotted someone in a wheelchair past the barriers.  He separated them and went to spend some time talking to the person then returned to his side.

CLASS. Top man.

Wish him all the best for the future wherever that may be.

Dont know Scott personally although I did work with his brother for many years. Always got told he was 'highly regarded' and started his playing career at Celtic Boys club.

Dunc the man seems ok (at times). dunc the manager not so much and if he was so concerned with others I still cant get that aligned with his silence over the summer when players were treated like dirt.

Yogi rated Kellacher very highly.

All the best to Dunc in his future!

Ancelloti reckoned Dunc was the new sliced bread.

Scotty, let's not get into dunc bashing today when people are losing their jobs. It's been well covered on various threads on here.

Did you see the episode of Still Game when the dignatory with the big scissors was giving a speech prior to cutting the ribbon with jack and Victor and the residents of craiglang watching.

He would say something and one of the wee neds would shout out " naw he wisnae "

He would carry on speaking and the wee ned would shout out " naw he didnae"

Not a day for that.😀

Always good to see a new moderator join up. Or isn't backseat moderating against the rules? 🤷‍♂️

Best of luck to Motty in his new role. Like Scott Young, probably not one he was expecting or planning for but a good local lad wish him the best and hope the fans get behind him.

Not Dunc bashing, and if you read other things I have said, I don't lay blame at his door for the mess we find ourselves in financially. However, let's not canonise him just yet.

He may well have been good at PR with fans, and to be fair he does have a history of showing that positive side of his character at both Everton and everywhere else he went as a coach or manager, but lets balance that very good quality of his with the fact that he uttered not one word after relegation until a bunch of players had already found out they were out the door with not a word from their line manager or - it has to be said - the CEO or any directors. Thats the other side of the same coin.

I wish him well in his future career, I thank him for the positive stuff he did (or tried to do) at the club, and for more recently taking wage cuts or working for free to try and help in some way. It is appreciated. I am sorry he was the first out the door, but he is likely to be one of the best placed to find another job, working PR for Everton perhaps, or back there in some coaching capacity rather than as a full-blown manager.

The P&J is reporting that Billy McKay will be named as Kells’ assistant.

It was inevitable that Ferguson and his entourage would be casualties and I wish them well.

My thoughts are with all those who will learn their fate tomorrow and I just hope all those who learn they are leaving are treated properly by the club.

I think we need to get straight that this is an administration situation where one of the next possible steps is, unfortunately, the morgue. To avoid that, the administrator is going to take any steps he can, however drastic, to cut expenditure, and high up that agenda is cutting the wage bill. We are well, well past thinking about who we would like to see as a replacement and the thought of signing up any new staff to do jobs that can be done from within the existing payroll - and possibly these even at reduced wages - seems inconceivable.

This 💯

Thank you to DF, GB and SG for their hard work and time put in at the club and wish them the best in the future. I'm sure they'll find equal if not better employment elsewhere within the football world. I'm not best placed at present to offer any further opinions especially on DF as it would be ill-placed and I've said a lot already.

It's the hard workers behind the scenes that will find it harder and tougher in the coming days, weeks and months and are so often overlooked in these situations.

It doesn't pay for the new outlets to focus on the unsung behind the scenes staff which is why they'll all gush about DF.
