I actually like the standing on a railing bit and fair play to Cove not having segregation. However this ground must be in the worst situation in Scotland in the middle of industrial estate

I know what you mean -Aye its fine if you get a space on the railing  but if they get a few more fans ( unlikely ) you'd be blocked as there is no /minimal raised terracing. They don't need segregation because they've so few fans! We didn't know there was anyone hiding in the gloom until they scored - well done the young team belting out support.

Where was their previous ground, in Cove itself?

Cove Bay. There’s actually a Barrett Homes development called Allan Park.

I don't think the ref fancied extra time, maybe had a train to catch.
The sun sets on our cup run for 2024-25.

Stupid of someone to set off a flare at kick off.

We did play very well but failure to benefit from some good chances meant Cove gaining confidence in the final 5 minutes of actual time.  For Cove's penalty the highlights do actually seem to show Danny turning his back on the shot that seems to slam into his hand.  A penalty would not have been given if Josh Meekings had been in a similar situation.

Longstaff was booked after four Cove players took it in turns to kick him. When their Captain being the fourth to attempt it buckled up the ref decided Longstaff's jump to avoid damage caused the injury to Boyle.

End of November and we are already out of all 3 cups and have absolutely no chance of winning the league. Worst season ever in that regard, yet we still have so much to play for!

Given how thin our squad is, I would say this was a blessing. I understand Savage was taken off injured, was it serious or precautionary,... with Davidson and Ewan out, we are just a Devine injury away from a major crisis

He was holding his lower back in the first half a few times and seemed to be his back they were working on when he went down before coming off. The bench had shouted over once or twice in the first half, I'm guessing to check on him so wonder if it was an underlying issue, hopefully just a pull or strain.

Thought it was a very scrappy game not helped by the referee who seemed to blow for any little thing to the point my daughter was asking what the fouls were for and she's 10. The near side assistant wasn't any better, totally arrogant tbh. A couple of times I forgot I was sitting in the main stand and was a bit vocal towards them.

It wasn't a 2v0 game, nor did I think they created enough to win, one of those where either side would have been happy with nicking it. My general impression was that if we could have got the ball in behind them for Louis to run onto, he would have had a far better chance of getting in on goal. Instead everything was played in front of them for us to try and get through and it generally didn't work, we needed to mix it up a little. The one time I remember a ball being flashed across in the second half, Billy was inches from the header.

How do suspensions work for red cards in cups? It seems Devine did get sent off after full time so is the suspension now only in the competition the card was issued in or will he miss Saturday’s game?

Depends on what he was sent off for. The screenshots below are from the disciplinary website from a few seasons ago so may be a little out of date. (if hard to read, click on it for a larger version). The data on both the Scottish FA and SPFL websites is hard to find and the list of suspensions on one of the sites only goes to 2023/24.

Thanks Scotty, he was booked in normal time but I’m not sure if it was a second booking or a straight red he apparently got at full time. It was presumably for saying something so, from your file, it looks like a one match cup suspension either way.

Automatic suspensions for all competitions tend to be for violent conduct, spitting or other offences on the more egregious side, so unless he lamped the ref in the tunnel or did something serious then it would be the next Scottish Cup match.

One of those games where it just didn't go for us. Their keeper was on good form (as was ours) and denied us a couple of times with great saves.

Still parts of the game we can tidy up and work on but we'll win more than we lose playing as we are I think.

I think it was a straight red? I didn't see the ref show a yellow before the red.

Cove home to Forfar in the next round, but if we had won I think we’d have been ball 19 and home to Clydebank.

That was the first time I've had a real chance to see us play under Scott. I was quite impressed and we didn't deserve to lose that the way we did. I agree with The Mantis whereby the rep didn't want extra time and gave the very soft pen. I hope these lads keep their heads up and no concentrate on climbing that table. Injuries may hit us but here's hoping none are too serious. Also was my first visit to Cove.

If only we could score a goal or two...🙄

Wee bit depressing seeing the draw and some tasty fixtures while realising we’re not a part of it, however, we have more important matters to concentrate on so onwards and upwards…

Tonight Dumbarton are playing their game at Alloa that was postponed 10 days ago. They beat them in the cup on Saturday so hopefully Alloa get revenge tonight.

We actually want Dumbarton to bite our heels so that it adds a bit more to our desire to win games. Sooner or later 'he will score when he wants' and Saturday at Montrose is when he will start scoring again.

I really hope the team won't be so complacent as to settle into 2nd bottom slot and assume they'll get through the playoffs.

Promotion playoffs is still a realistic aim for a full-time club in a mainly part-time league.
