Just got a phone call from the match, apparently the ref is having a shocker.

Well player passed the ball crossed Tokely, went down then a straight red card.

Officials having a shocker apparently.  McBain was dragged down to the ground by his neck, nothing given.  ICT player just pushed off the ball, Motherwell throw in.

Like so many games this season, a complete shambles!

Don't care how bad the refs been, YET Another team come away with a victory without having to work for it

We are now adding needless sending offs, to needless penalties, laughable defending and comical goalkeeping, why don't we just give teams a couple of goals at the start of the game and be done with it.

Thank god I wasn't there, not sure many others will be at at the St Mirren game either

For the first time ever I left a game early today as a result of what was being dished up by ICT on the pitch.

Being outplayed or having a bad day I can take.  Players acting like morons, losing the plot and basically gifting the game to the opposition I cannot.

As I've said elsewhere, our problems are run deeper than what's being happening on the pitch...never before have I witnessed such indiscipline, contempt for officials and 11 guys all looking as they they would take any excuse not to be out there.

If the players aren't going to bother trying then I don't see why the feck I should bother hanging around to support them.

I really thought we had a good chance of winning today.

But no we get gubbed yet again.

Well Brew I hope the old coaching manual has a chapter on making your home ground a fortress, as we need all the help we can get at the moment.

But hey its only a game right  :023:

Shades of the old Brew i'm afraid. Sticking to the old school.  :029:

How can he stick to Caff, Hastings and McBain - and even I am confused as to why Niculae didnt start this one. Proctor had better have been injured after starting him at Castle Greyskull last week.

The interview with CB (now available on the match report on front page of site) is interesting to listen to to say the least ..... He can barely keep his anger (especially about the ref) under control, seems to be struggling to find the right words and absolutely blasts Tokely and has a go at Barry for their roles in today's debacle.

Doesn't auger well for the future does it? The only meaningful contribution Brew has made to ICT has when he's been playing...

The referee was poor today ........................

BUT, both red cards were merited. Bayne committed a foul almost every time the ball went to him. His timing was shocking. Both his yellow cards were justified.

Rosscoe deserved his straight red for taking a Motherwell player out in an off the ball incident - i would like to see him fined by the club for his behaviour.

Can we appeal for this red card?

IIRC, you can only appeal violent behaviour cards and Bayne's was a red for "second bookable offence" and Tokely's was displayed on the online sites as "Professional Foul" for the tackle from behind so on that basis the answer would be no ....

After listening to Brewster, sounds like given the choice, he would appeal Bayne's but not Tokely's

Here's my player by player ratings:

1. Fraser - Played okay and had one decent save touched over the bar.  7/10

2. Tokely - Not bad until he was sent off. 6/10

5. McCaffrey - Oh dear, just not good enough. 4/10

6. McBain - Was pretty poor today. 5/10

8. Black - Not bad until he came off. 6.5/10

9. Bayne - Not that good today at all until he was sent off. 6/10

12. Duncan - Didn't do much at all expect for one decent shot in the first half. 5.5/10

14. Munro - Did almost nothing at all. 5/10

15. Cowie - Not too bad and was given MOTM. 6/10

16. Hastings - Very poor today. 5/10

19. Wyness - As poor as the rest. 6/10

Subs:

7. Wilson - Played okay but wasn't great. 6/10

18. Niculae - He was pretty good when he came on. 7/10

24. Rankin. Wasn't that good when he came on. 5/10

Ref: Chris Boyle -  A pure disgrace for a referee and should never referee a game ever again. 3/10

Overall I thought that this was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from ICT and wasn't helped by the referee who was completely awful and a complete joke.

We were very naieve today. Early on it was apparent that the referee was going to give a foul for any physical play whatsoever - but we didn't adapt, instead we just hoped that if he took enough stick, the @rsehole in the black would straighten out - he didn't and we got punished.

One decision that stood out for me was when McGarry (I think) dived to the ground writhing in agony, when nobody had even touched him, the home fans went mental, the referee blew his whistle, raced over, and gave a drop ball.  :029: I was certain he was going to book him for diving (which would have meant he would have thought twice before he keeled over to get Roscoe sent off later on) but he bottled it, and decided to make up the rules as he went along.

How much contact Roscoe actually made with McGarry was unclear, regardless of the fact that McGarry is a cheating scumbag Roscoe should have the book thrown at him. He let down the team and the fans.

Bayne's first booking was ridiculous, but the second was pure stupidity on his part. The only good that came out of todays game is that he's suspended. He must shut his eyes when he heads the ball because absolutly none of his flick ons go anywhere near an ICT player. And his aerial 'threat' is the strongest part of his game  :017:

I hope the decision to play Bayne ahead of Niculae was to motivate the latter, because if Brewster thinks Bayne is a better pick than Marius (or even Deano) then his judgement has to be seriously questioned.

In a bizarre twist, the only decent performer for us today was Michael Fraser. Some excellent kicking and a world class save where he tipped it over the bar near the end. Shame he got nutmegged to spoil it.

Bayne was never going to last the 90 minutes today and I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.  That was partly down to his own inability to jump for a ball without leading with elbows like a clumsy oaf, and partly down to the hoof it up the park at him tactics which meant he had no option but to keep challenging for the ball in the air.

The only people who got even close to pass marks today IMO were Hastings, Fraser, Black, Duncan, Cowie, Wyness and the subs.  I hope the rest of them have a fecking miserable weekend and return to training on Monday and are lined up to receive a kick in the balls for their attitude and behavior out there on the park today.

The referee was bad, but it was consistently bad and as professional players they should be able to deal with that and adapt accordingly.  When you know a ref is going to blow for a certain scenario, you don't keep throwing yourself in to it.  Even more so, when he has already booked one player for getting mouthy and warned numerous others....YOU DON'T KEEP BLOODY ARGUING WITH HIM.

The referee was poor today ........................

The referee was an absolute ******* disgrace, a blind, idiotic, cack-handed, moronic, incompetent **** of seriously dubious parentage with a Motherwell accent. Boyle? Wish someone would pop the ****. I can think of several grounds where he'd have needed a police escort, and if he puts in performances like that elsewhere he'd best think about getting a helicopter to land on the centre spot at full time.

The team just didn't show up. Hastings was the only player I felt put in anything like a real performance in the first half, although Dennis and Graham worked hard throughout, and Grant and Caff both played well for my money. Bar a couple of decent dead-balls, Cowie was painfully anonymous and played better at right back after Ross's moment of madness than in midfield. Whoever gave him motm must have been drowning their sorrows in style up in the Kingsmills suite. Russell's back to his feckless best when passing the ball to anyone but an ICT player, Roy put in a decent shift but I'm baffled that he didn't get hooked instead of Blackie at half time.

Brewster looked absolutely flummoxed after the first sending-off, let alone the second, but then he never has had much of a clue when events on the park depart from the script. It was screamingly obvious to everyone I spoke to that, with one of Jim Henson's finest running the game, Bayne should have been subbed at half time and Niculae brought on to avoid a sending-off. Brew, that was your fault pal, swallow the pill - aye, the ref was a complete wonker but it's up to you to see stuff like that coming.

We played better with nine men than we did with eleven, but the opposition had twelve from the start.

Gutted, gutted, gutted, that I didn't stay at home in the warm. Off to rant somewhere else  :rolleyes02:

That was a complete shambles from start to finish. Motherwell completely outplayed us.

We couldn't string two passes together all game. When Bayne plays, we just hoof it up, and it's dire to watch. The trouble with that tactic is that Bayne is complete *****. He got booked for consistent fouling, then made a stupid lunge for his red. Hopefully he'll be out for a while. Same for Tokely, his sending off was totally deserved and I hope the both of them get some form of punishment from the club for their actions today.

Aye, the ref was crap, but both sendings off were correct. The only players who did ok in my opinion were Caff/Munro at the back, and Blackie in midfield. Presumably Blackie was injured at half time? If he wasn't then it was a shocking decision to hook our only decent midfielder.

Some players were so bad today, it was shocking. Duncan, Hastings, Tokely, and Cowie(how did he get MOTM??) were awful.

And the less said about Bayne, the better. It's no coincidence that Dennis has gone off the boil since Bayne's come back in is it. The bloke is rubbish. No control, or pace, and it's a total lottery where his flicks end up.

That was embarrassing today.....there'd better be major changes for the Midden game.

brewster doesnt have a clue when it comes to subs and when to make them.

tokely is an absolute disgrace.has never been up to SPL standard and never will.same with duncan and mcbain.could argue bayne isn't either.but tokely!!uch!good on brewster saying what he did after the game.tokely is a ****** and should never play 4 us again!!not just coz of today..but just coz he is ****!!

everyone was shocking today and brewster should think about seriously reshuffling the squad for the st mirren game.

the atmosphere as usual was electric 2day!!well done to everyone who helped with that.

referee was a disgrace.should never be allowed to ref at this level again. :33: :33: :33: :33: :sillywave: :sillywave: :029: :018:

Aye the ref was baaaaad !!

But that was purely incidental to us being absolutely shocking !! Can't blame the ref for today i'm afraid.

Worst thing for me was that at 2-0 down at home and down to 10 men.......the inactivity in the dugout was frightening !!! :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008: :008:
