  1. Do we know who the members of the "independent appeal panel" were?

I can only think of two decisions as bad as this one. Zalikuas at Pitodrie in an incident with Lee Miller. Miller fouled Zalikuas, Brines sent the Hearts man off.

Appealed and Brines said his decision stood! Murdo Macleod denied Jason Scotland a work permit.

They go on about the ills of Scottish football and the lack of competition for the old scum. Neutral referees would help.

  2. He'd scored in almost every game up to that. Mark Hughes signed one of the best keepers in todays game in Shay Given; one of the most under rated keepers ever to play the game i recon, and before Lescot was injured, you could say that the City defence was pretty solid. He kept people with the club at heart and made them better, i of course refer to steven ireland, and brought in one of the best players in the world in Robinho.

If Shay is such a magnificent keeper how come he had ten years of carnage in front of him at Newcastle? He was the only constant in that defence.

He goes to City and the same happens. Richard Dunne becomes a "bad" player and gets punted. Micah Richards plays his way out of the World Cup. Lescott and Toure become duffers but according to the pundits he was Mark Hughes's best signing.

He has had one clean sheet in the league since August.

Silly thing to say. Given is a fantastic keeper and the Best in the EPL. To say otherwise is foolish.

I say Pepe Reina is the best keeper in England so I am a fool. You are probably right. Shay has been incredibly unlucky with duff central defenders. Hardly ever keeping a clean sheet is just a coincidence.

  4. Craig Brown or John Robertson.

Craig Brown has had no success at club level. John had success here but remember when he arrived the club were top of the league. Elsewhere he struggled. Between the two I would pick John Robertson but I would pick Pele above the both of them.

  5. TB will help Burley begin to pick up the pieces in japan and MM is more than capable of managing us in his absence.

    There simple eh.

Possibly but he is the full-time manager of this football club and should not be going to Japan if there is a club game.

  6. He will end up at a Highland League club, just like all ther other youth players released by the club over the years.

Funny you should say that. I watched Cove v Buckie tonight and there was six on show.

Stewart McKenzie the Cove goalie plus Buckie's McKinnon, Stewart, MacRae, MacMillan and Zander.

  7. David Shearer, Clach to Middlesboro. He is of course Duncans brother, and was a better player in my opinion.

And what about the guy that played for Bolton and Scotland, thingamyjig, John McGinlay, he started at Nairn County before ending up at Bolton via numerous clubs.

Both born in Inverness according to my mate wiki.

Cant dispute whether or not they were born in Inverness, may have been cos it was the nearest mattie hospital, but they were brought up in Caol, Fort William as was another two I could add to the list.....Donald Park and George 'Pele' Cambell both went from Caley. Parkie to Hearts and Pele to Aberdeen then on to Australia where he's still involved in football.

"Pele" Campbell was never on Caleys books. Caley signed two other Lochaber based youngsters around that time - Stuart McKinnon, who was a schoolboy international played season 72-73 before going to Edinburgh Uni to study maths and Joe Toal, a striker, who packed in football shortly after to concentrate on shinty.

I think Joe Toal died at a very young age.

Donnie Gillies was another Fort William player who played for Clach and went on to play for Bristol City.

  8. I was just on Vigurs Bebo and he said that hes delighted to go back to Aberdeen.

He was never at Aberdeen. He joined Elgin in 2003/04 season as a sixteen year old.

I think he may have been an S form signing at Aberdeen and certainly played for their under age teams before switching to Celtic. Very surprised he has been released and Garry Wood for that matter.

  9. Smith was laughing with the Falkirk players right after the sending off. Totally inappropriate.

Not long after that Morais got nailed and we did not even get a free kick never mind a Falkirk booking.

    You have to wonder.

  10. Sounds like a usual ICT game tbh, especially for Barrowman and Rooney.....had chances, couldnt put them away!

No one seems to have taken over from Rory Mac as the goalscorer in this team. That was a strong team on paper.

  11. Disappointing because I thought Aberdeen were there for the taking. Our final ball was poor.

I thought Morais did well until he ran out of steam. Proctor and Kerr were dire.

I think Vigurs needs to be re-introduced for a bit of quality. He has not had a look in since the change of manager.

At least Falkirk got beat so it was not a disaster.

  12. Lets not kid ourselfs Malpas is the tactician/the day to day football man so to all intents and purposes he is more the team manager than TB.

TB has admitted as much in his interviews. Interviews is TB's forte, he is if you like the PR man.

    Graham

I think it is wrong having the two jobs but at least he did not go on holiday to Majorca like Calderwood!

It is a rod for his own back if we do not win it will become a bigger issue.

As long as he jacks Scotland in after the current campaign which hopefully will be more than three games.

  13. Has anyone got footage of Stewarty's 2nd goal against County in the 2nd game played at TCS after it opened? Sand wedge style chip over the keeper from about 20 yards. One of the best finishes I've seen at any level and shows just what Iain was all about.

Stewarty was the best finisher I have seen in terms of lobbing the ball over the keeper. He scored tons of goals like that.

  14. You can't stick Morais top of the pecking order just because he scored 2 goals against Partick thistle!

    He did nothing against Hamilton

Also Rooney is definitely ahead of Wood

Wood and Barrowman are at the same level for me.

    Wood has done nothing

Atleast Rooney can stick them in the back of the head.

Rooney looks a really good prospect

Wood scored for the reserves this week. Rooney did not. Change in pecking order?

  15. Best wishes to the new manager. Though his overall managerial record is not the best he did very well at Motherwell after they went into administration.

What does concern me is that he has not resigned his Scotland post. Surely the job here is massive and demands one hundred per cent of his efforts. By staying with Scotland he is only creating a rod for his own back.

If we get beat after a Scotland game he will get slaughtered.

I remember Alex Miller doing the same at Aberdeen and that ended it tears. (Was it a dream or did he really sit beside Benitez in the dugout)

So come on Terry give Scotland a miss and you will have more chance of success.
