  1. Fantastic from the fans - jimmy say i to a killie pie - brilliant support for the team as well. They encouraged them at all times during the match - but there's always one ass**** shouting abuse at his own players - this plonker seemed to hate Rooney - before he left he called Rooney a B--tard - some supporter ye

Maybe he did'nt like Jimmy's pie

Jimmy says i to a Killy pie

Well done to the true fans ye

  2. I was at the match on Saturday and have to say I really enjoyed the entertainment - the team tried to play football and it was a joy to watch. I think the weather had a lot to do with some of the changes we missed but at least we created chances and got the 3 points. ( Big Positive )

I thought the new guy Duff done really well in midfield - he just done the simple things all the time pass the ball and find a player - also noticed he was trying to encourage the younger lads on the pitch. Hayes and Rooney were brilliant and Sanchez did well trying to find the pass.

So well done to the team and management and hopefully we will have a good result this week.

    Happy Fan

  3. All i can say it well done to all the lads you gave us a great day out and showed us just what football games are all about.

It would have been nice to bring the cup back - but once the 1st goal went in against us we lost our way. We sat back and let Dundee come at us. Hayes was great at getting the ball into the box just what Rooney needs - we need the same balls coming in from both sides though.

I think Sanchez went of with a injury but in saying that we did need someone in midfield. Anyway well done to everyone, including the supporters so lets get behind the team and let them hear us for the rest of the season.

  4. Now lets not have negative comments the team won and we got 3 points - we need to take each game as it comes and work hard.

So well done to the team and management. The last time we played Airdrie we only drew so its nice to get another home win under our belts. And going into next weeks game it should give the lads more confidence.

    ;)

  5. EH?

    Why is Rooney dropped?

    Why drop Rooney

Maybe something to do with the fact, that apart from scoring a rebound from a poor penalty, he'd did absolutely nowt for the whole game.

Apart from that same team since we dont have anybody to replace Bulvitis

What about Proctor at CB and keep Tokely at RB?

There you go again Renegade - running down Rooney were you at the same game? Rooney played his heart out yesterday for the team he was everywhere. The problem with the game yesterday was a lot of the other players did not do the same. He scored a goal thats 5 in 3 match's so get over it

You obviously never saw Proctor at CB under Brew in the SPL. He was awful.

  6. Well done Rooney - at least today you have shown what you are capable of given the chance. I also think Foran and Rooney play well together - Dougie gave in some good crosses today and well done to the team and the management.

At least now we are winning against weaker teams which we were doing up to this. So roll on the good times and get top of the league

Always knew this boy had claSS

  7. Esson

    Tokely-----Bully-----Munro-----Golly

    ---Proctor---Duncan*---

    Imrie-----Sanchez-----Foran

    -----Rooney**-----

    * Maybe McBain as I've never been totally sure about Duncan. I think he is good enough, but prefer old reliable Roy, plus he can naturally give more cover to the left side with Procotr able to help out on the right.

** Barrowman perhaps as more of a poacher and we should be looking to press them.

I think Proctor should always be looking to be prepared to tuck back to allow Tokely freedom to make his runs.

Cant fault the 3 of Foran (hat-trick) Sanchez (3 assists) and Imrie (goal plus general ability to create)

Hayes and, in particular, Cox are still young. They will get their chance soon enough. Odiamhbo could be and interesting change to make but needs to get some time in before he starts IMHO.

Why would Rooney be replaced? did he not score as well ? Id go with the same team - more experience it this side than ever - I can't remember the last time we scored 5 goals.

    Can't wait for Saturday

  8. Don't think "effort and desire" have been an issue and would like to ask one question of those who were at the game.

Did you get the impression that we relied a little less on a rigid game plan and more on cutting the players loose a little and letting them just go out there and get on with doing the job?

Well - I think that we did go with a "plan" and that was to keep it tight at the back - basically ensuring that we had at least five outfield players behind the ball at all times - Granty and Bulvitis were evidently two and only went forward fer dead ball ploys - Golly was evidently told to stick and Proctor and Duncan holding as well - that gave Rosscoe a bit more freedom to move forward.

It looked like the ploy was to play Imrie and Foran as wide as possible which gave Sanchez the room he requires. I thought Rooney did a great job and practically kept their two central defenders on the back foot all the game.

But to me it was the clear direction to try and play football and go forward that was the most encouraging - and not to shut up shop but to go fer the jugular - I was fearful that we would go in to a more defensive mode when we equalised but we went fer it.

I think you got it spot on ! Proctor - Duncan were the holding midfield - as I've said before Foran is at his best on the wing and so is Dougie - Rooney well Im delighted for him to have got a start ( and a goal but then again never doubted that he would'nt score given the chance ) well Rooney's job was to battered and hold the centre halfs so as any loose balls etc could be picked up by Foran, Imrie - and Sanchez well he does whats he good at picking out the pass - I just hope Butcher plays the same team on Saturday.

And lets face it - we had a wee albeit vocal following yesterday - We have surpassed it on many previous occasions but there was the old "togetherness" / the craic with the players and the management. And lets say a few positives about the stewarding as well.

The players were given freedom to express themselves and enjoyed the experience - the same can be said fer the fans.

    Bring on the Tinks

  9. Possibly for the rumour mill but why do you think Dods was at the game? Is he still getting a game for United?

Nothing for rumour Harry. I've seen Darren at other games. He often goes to watch local matches.

As for the game I cant add anything that hasn't been said already. Great three points. I do, however, wonder if Rooney needs some attention from IHE. It seems to me that when he's in on goal some psychological barrier comes up and he bottles it.

Whats ur problem with Rooney ? Only for him last night we would not have got the goal. The only problem Rooney has is not getting enough time on the pitch.

  10. Also, playing along side Rooney and sanchez cant help him very much, the pair are useless and couldnt hit a barn door.

How can you possibly judge Rooney fairly considering the amount of time he's had?

Rooney is always the one that comes on and wastes all our chances. Some of which even i could score.

maybe you should go for a trial as a centre forward and see how many goals you can score when you get from anywhere from 1 mins to 20 mins

  11. GK - Esson

Def - Proctor Tokely Munro Golly

Mid - Imrie Duncan Mcbain Hayes

    For - Foran Rooney

Subs - Allison, Lionel, Barrowman, Eagle, Cox

I like that team but im not sure if i would play Cox in midfield instead of Mcbain. Imrie will be better on the wing as last year we saw Butcher play him as a centre forward but to no avail. Hopefully we get a result The last game was

    a disaster.

Think Foran and Rooney up front will work as they both battle, Foran is inclined to ramble about the pitch while Rooney will be in the box. Come on Caley lets get some goals.

  12. Rooney's a bit strange really. If he isn't right in on goal he doesn't seem to know what to do, and when he has a chance he doesn't seem to know how to take it. Rather have Barrowman myself. If Rooney spent more time on the training field than he does at Starbucks, he might turn into a half-decent player.

Also think that it must be hard to get into the pace of the game when you just come on - maybe Butcher should bring him on earlier and give him a good run if he does not intend to start him. Until such time he gets the same amount of time on pitch as Foran and Sanchez I for one will not judge him - Foran has had 8 starts and 2 goals , Sanchez has had 7 starts and 3 goals and Rooney has had 3 starts and 3 goals - so I do think he knows where to put the ball.

Now I know we all have our own players we prefer to play every week but i think your out order there ! There were 2 other forwards on the pitch for 90 mins ( Sanchez for 80) and they did'nt score. Rooney gets on for 8 mins and your slagging him off about missing - I also know that Rooney does a lot more training then most of the lads at his own expense. But if he is not one of the favourite's ( with the manager) well there is not alot the lad can do. He needs a bit of confidence shown to him by the manager I think. ( Also Barrowman has'nt been given a decent chance.

  14. Don't know exact positions but line up will be Esson, Proctor, Bulvitus, Munro,Golaback, Duncan, Hayes, Cox , Sanchez, Eagles, Foran, and will be playing 4-1-4-1

Sounds like you've got some inside info here, Stevie...

Do you know for a fact that Nick Ross won't be on from the start? If that's the case I probably won't be going.

Duncan and Bulvitis both had nightmares last week.

Just what I heard Johnboy normally very reliable but wouldn't take it as a def

yep heard this to - looks like the starting team tomorrow after all Butcher said he is beginning to look like an idiot, has'nt a clue - what's this all about saying only the one's that impress in training this week will get a start ? what about the player's that did not train this week due to injury - how come they start - how come the ones that played against this team in training this week battered them - they dont start = get a grip Butcher at least come out fighting and give our team a chance of a win. But oh I forgot sure did'nt this line up 4-1-4-1 work against Motherwell ( I did we win?)

  15. As i stated in another tread, im in Dublin just now and so i have just found out the score...GET TO FECK BUTCHER! I have said it before and i will shout it this time! Feck off. Hes pish. Fecking outrageous and tbh, we would do better with Brewster in this league!

Brewster kept playing Barrowman and Rooney up front and stuck with it week in week out because he signed them, Butcher replaced all the midfield and instead of sticking with all of his new signings, he changed things and bar Duncans error which led to one of the goals and Coxs stray shots at goal, the midfield were very good,

I would say that its now goalie, defence and midfield almost sorted,we just need to tune the forwards and were off.

Go and have another pint at the guinness factory,or go and look at the tart in the cart and the flousie in the jacuzzi.

Just looked at the stats for last season -

    Player Starts Goals

    Imrie 37 5

    Foran 17 3

    Barrowman 15 2

    Woods 14 2

    Rooney 11 6

    Morais 11 5

    Odhiambho 5 1

So I dont see where Rooney or Barrowman played week in week out.

  16. i dont think its down to lack of confidence on the team its down to lack of confidence on the manager. If your told to go back and defend for every corner and free kick then as a player its what you have to do.

Butcher is too defensive and has shown that on a number of occassions.

  17. It is sad to say but the same players will go out week after week - then you do have the one's that don't and are looking after themselves. Yes some of them were out Saturday night, but how can you stop them?

I think the player's usually go back south after the saturday game and then return for training for Monday 12 o clock start.

  18. I dont understand were losing 3 nil at half time and Butcher puts on Sanchez now correct me if I wrong but Rooney would have been the better choice surely - at least he battles and will try to make things happen - if im honest i think Butcher should have put Rooney and Sanchez on.

Great peno - thought we might have got a point from the match. I still think Foran should be played on the wing with Rooney and Sanchez ( or Barrowman) up front. Hopefully we will play better next week.

    Come on Caley

  19. I hate to see anyone lose a job - but I have a terrible feeling Butcher does not know what to do. He still goes out and plays Foran up front ( I think Foran is a good worker and better on the wing ) Sanchez will not work in this league and the players he has brought in are not going to do it for us or Butcher.

If Butcher goes I would love to see Robbo back.

  20. I have'nt commented for a while on how the team been doing. But I think Butcher has lost the plot. Why did Ross Tokely not play last night? The report says he had a strain and Eagle's was dropped. Eagle's was injured in training and there was word that Ross had a few words. Why after last weeks match when Butcher says in the papers he was not happy with the performance and could have made 8 subs etc what does he do he plays Djebi-Zadi up front.

Why after his comments in the papers that the new lads need games because they have'nt played before does he insist on playing them, when we have lads that played in S.P.L last year not even on the bench. We have lads that have experience playing in england and at international level not getting a start. I think Hayes and Cox will be good players ( not Eagle, Stratford, and I have my doubts on Sanchez- think he would be better of in a different league where the work is done for him.

Djebi was dropped a few weeks ago because he was told he was not good enough. Butcher has no man management skills ( and as far as I can see no football management skills either) he may have been a great player but thats does'nt make him a good manager.

I would like to see a starting 11 of Esson, Ross , Bulvitis, Munro, Golalek, with Foran on the right ( i dont think he is a natural forward ) cox, mc bain ( or Duncan) Hayes on the left with Barrowman and Rooney up front. Give this team a run together and let Butcher forget about his ego and concentrate on the job he is paid to do. If he is to be a good manager he has to be able to drop the lads that he has brought in when they are not doing the job. I think Terry should put his feelings aside ( and forget about not liking a player ) this is not about Terry Butcher its about I.C.T football club been promoted back to the S.P.L and not relegated to Div 2.

I for one would love the club back in the S.P.L but it needs everyone to be honest and work hard and no bull *****
