Arth....for what its worth mate....i think Rugby League is far more entertaining to watch than Rugby union. But....I enjoy watching Scotland Rugby Union the most if i had to choose one! That fair enough, we all have our preferences. Either that or you play on the wing

I could prattle on about how many games I have played of each code and how many injuries I have had from each but to be honest injuries don?t prove anything other than if you?re a worker on the pitch or not. Not trying to change your mind but it gets my back up when union players are blatantly ignorant and refuse to even show the slightest bit of respect to league, even though league shows a lot of respect to union by offering charity matches and working together in the community.

I've played both union and league, even played at academy level league. They are both great, in my opinion union has much more physical scrums. League there isn't much effort in the scrums, unlike union. Also I like line outs, gets a chance to play territory at times, but this can slow the game right down to an unbearable speed. But if you take line outs and long scrums out of the game like league has its a lot more physical as it?s faster with more contact due to the amount of tackles. League is much faster and the fitness levels are much higher and you?re right though it is the more interesting sport for spectators. League seems to finally be expanding into different areas with new teams like Celtic, Catalan and Toulouse all recently developing the game. Also I hear rumours that Scotland are in the midst of developing a team (Edinburgh I reckon) to play in the SL. The Magic weekend seemed like a success. I like both but do prefer league over union.

Well lets be fair, league on average has twice the amount of tackles (av 280 v 122 per game) and plays (av 85 v 79 per game) compared to union, it has less boring tennis style play kicking, its overall a much faster game with more contact due to tackle counts. Also of the only two union v league meetings league proved to be the fitter and better athletes (Bath 6 v 86 Wigan @ league and Bath 44 v 19 Wigan @ union). On top of that union feel the need to offer stupidly high paged wages to steal league players (Robinson, Harris, Smith, Henry, Orr the list goes on). I think thats enough proof to say which is the best out of the two FFS. I still like union though as they have a great set-up for internationals, something league struggle to sort out. But club wise league is many years ahead of union.

How can you say Thunder is a joke when they got screwed? They got their team taken off them in one of the biggest setup deals in any sporting history just to keep a crappy heartland club going that has not improved over the years since. Hull FC. I think you will find they have improved ten fold since they had to start from scratch. Yes they had a very poor period but they won NL2 and since Steve Mac took over, they have really been impressive. We just beat the best in the division, Halifax 34-28 last weekend. Your right about NRUFC, they can be boring but they are my local team. Ahh rant over. Thanks for the info on hotels guys ;)

haha I hardly ever get to footy games as they are stupidly expensive here at the Maggie empire and the Mackem pit. But I get to one everyone now and again. I get to many rugby games Newcastle Falcons and Gateshead Thunder and no League is not for girls and don't even get me started on that topic 5thStand :D League and Union are both great games in their own right. While I'm on the topic, anyone know any decent B&B's or cheaply prices hotels not to far from the TC Stadium? so I can start to plan a trip next season.
