  1. We're a bigger and better club than Barnsley :-) They will be relegated next season. Sorry for bumping!!!!! lol we will be promoted next season :) Enjoy league 1 little Bristol
  2. Im sure #fevtruth will be great and not at all an anticlimax :)

  3. Yeah mate just joking, I take no pleasure our of seeing you lose in both cups. You still have good chance of making europe. That miss in the first game was pretty bad though.
  4. We're Gonna erect a statue of Terry Butcher and his dog outside of Oakwell, as big thankyou for turning us down .
  5. I know our forums way better than yours but shood you not be back at tykes mad greeting to yer own lot thanks for coming nothing to see here on move along now Tykes mad whats that.? I have more posts on here than the tykes mad board. Did i actually post on here your were a great buch, sorry I meant some of you Any way good look in the cups and league.
  6. I said at work today that it was much easier for Butcher to move to Engand, I prusime most of his Family and old/close friends are from England and we will probab ly go back there sometime. MO on the other hand (although I dont know the facts) is probably totally opposite and a move to England would be much more of an upheaval
  7. Not sure if you read my other post but I say that the directors were wrong. But TB didn't have to agree to meet them, and he didn't have to take 3 days. It took SOD less than a day to say no, this was a guy who was out of work and didn't have to worry about upsetting the fans of his current club. Butcher uses the excus ethat you are second in the league and still in two cups. Did all that happen within he 3 days or were you actually second in the league and still in two cups when Barnsley approached him. The directors could have misread the situation massively and approached Neil warnock at leeds, he would have said No straight away with no harm done. But TB decided to agree to meet the directors on the first day and then spend the next two days discussing a job he was never going to take. Thats time wasting in my eyes. He said he owed it to Barnsley to speak to them, well not really he owed it to Barnsley and ICT to turn it down straight away. Anyway, we move on and at least his dog is safe.........Until next time
  8. I never really believed we would get Butcher, I hoped we would but never really believed it. But he has really pissed off a lot of Barnsley fans. We really need a new manager and wanted someone in before the weekends match agains leeds. TB has wasted 3 days of our time. Even if it was to do with Mo not wanting to leave, surley they could have discussed this before agreeing to speak to us. Im not sure i could get behind a manger who agreed to speak to another club, even if he turned them down. When Mark Robins agreed to speak to us a while ago, the rotherham chairman put him on gardening leave and gave him no choice relly but to accept. I suppose Butch may have got himself a nice pay rise out fo this though
  9. hi all, Thanks for making me welcome here, you seem a great bunch and obviously on an high at the moment with your team. A bit disappointed we missed out on butch but not really a surprise, our board should really have assessed the situation better. Like TB said in the interview with Radio sheffield, had you been in mid table things may have been diffferent. But he really would have been giving a lot up. Saying that had you been in mid table its debatable if we would have contacted him. Will defo keep an eye on your progress from now on and wish you all the success possible. I guess TB's dog can breath easy tonight :D
  10. I've just dropped his dog back to him....that should tell you everything. To give him one last moment with it before you cover it in ketchup
  11. Craig Davies our top scorer had. 300k release clause. So we had no choice but to sell, although I'm not disappointed to see him go. Would be more disappointed to lose out on Butcher, although my gut feeling is we probably will.
  12. No idea who he is, Couldn't do any worse than Hill im sure If we dont get Terry we want his Dog Terry was all set to sign for you, but I told him if he did I was going to eat the dog. How certain are you that he's staying (percentage wise)?? Depends How much he loves his Dog
  13. It's not Bradford who are in for him, it's Burnley! Its not even Burney
  14. No idea who he is, Couldn't do any worse than Hill im sure If we dont get Terry we want his Dog
  15. Paul Walker ‏@Walkerpw Just got off the phone with Terry Butcher's agent. No decision made on Barnsley job. Talks still planned for tomorrow. #BarnsleyFC
  16. tweet From Barnsley Chron reporter Matthew Murray ‏@matthewmurray87 Barnsley FC are continuing talks with Terry Butcher tomorrow. If TB has rejected, he hasn't told the club so anything else is speculation. ------------------------ Personnally I think its probably true
  17. Owner patrick Cryne has more than enough cash and is a Barnsley fan. The clubs for sale and he isn't asking for his cash back in the initial sale. He only wants it back if ever we make it to the Premier League. Then the new owners will pay it back with the Prem money. To be honest If Butcher decides not to come, i would fully understand why. we're far from a rich club, we have just been well run to appeal to potential buyers Cryne is ill and wants someone to take the club on. The dwindling support is correct in a way, but before our promotion to the prem 8k would have been seen as a good crowd
  18. Tell me a footballer who isn't motivated by money. I always think surly there comes a point wheh these footballers dont need any more cash. But still they move for more money. Sometimes the moves are really bizarre, maybe you think this one is :) but nothing surpises me in football . We are not heavily in debt, Barnsley have zero debt and were one of the only a few football league teams last year to make a profit. The new manager whoever it is will have money to spend, the directors have said that and we are on the verge of selling two players for £450k combined. Hill had a budget but refused to spend it until it was too late, we recently loaned Tudgay, Greening (who's on silly money at forest), sincair and buzacky, all of which Hill planned to re loan if they accepted to come back. we're also releasing mido who was on 4k per week. My first reaction was that he wouldn't consider coming to us. I am still not 100% convinced he will accept but looking at his past, almost every team he has taken on were in the middle of a relegation fight. Maybe he likes the challenge, we're only 4 points adrift and its not an impossible task to save us. Maybe he sees it as a route back into English football and wants to prove he can hack it. Or like you say he may just want more cash
  19. Hi, Barnsley fan in peace, Just read through the page about butcher to Barnsley. Firstly no idea if he will come to us or not and no silly comments about our club is bigger etc. To be honest there are good reasons to be at either club but for me you just have the edge. just like to clear a few things up. SOD was fans favourite and probably the boards first choice, but has SOD himself has stated, they never discussed terms or anything. Its the main view of most fans that he is waiting for his compo to be sorted out with Forest before returning to management. He clearly says its too early. on subject of us selling our best players, Craig Davies was a decent league 2 striker, come to us last year and had a £300k minimum fee in his contract. was ok last season, scored 8 goals this season including 4 against Birmingham and has been crap ever since. his minimum fee has been met and we cant do owt about it, Not many BFC fans are sad to see him go. First touch is very bad, he's lazy and not good enough for championship. The other scot Wiseman is truly Awful and one of the reasons Hill got the sack. Wiseman is a rightback who cant defend, yet Hill played him at center back all season and he has cost us goal after goal. Hill brought him with him from Rochdale and has blindly stuck by him. Theres a thread on our board with everyone in hysterics that Blackpool are buying him. So no were not selling our best players. One plus point we do have is a group of youths who are on long contracts and worth some cash, one lad John stones is already worth more than 3 million with Prem sides already hovering. We actually have a decent team, and if our best players were to be played in their correct positions we could easily climb the league, but Hill has never played the same team twice and at times made 4-5 changes from game to game. I think the main thing in our favour is the success Butcher has had with you lot may give him the confidence that he could save us from relegation and have a real go at the championship. I dont want to put the SPL down, but if Butcher wants to coach at the highest level then the best route to the EPL is via the championship. anyway, whatever happens, Good luck for the rest of the season, great to see some different teams in that second place. Long may it last btw best Barnsley forum is http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk where Butcher is the poll leader
