  1. I'll probably get shot down for this but here goes. The OP contains so many assumptions that it makes much of the rest a bit of a fairly scatter-gun rant, which to be fair, he acknowledges. I'd be stunned if the club didn't tell fans where and how to purchase kit when the details are confirmed. As far as information and the imparting of it goes, the club is in a position where it can only go public when it is absolutely sure of the information it has, otherwise the label of "second rate amateurs" gets chucked around by the habitually disgruntled and the marketing of the club gets another on line bashing. As far as timing goes, it's only three weeks after the end of the last season, and in normal circumstances an August launch would be perfectly appropriate and acceptable. If anything, there's probably been an under-estimation of last season's achievements when this deal was set up and given that a fair few on here were predicting a season of middling mediocrity is that surprising?  No wonder there's a bit of risk aversion when it comes to publicising things. People on here have moaned for years about the relative inaccessibility of the club shop and its limited opening hours but somehow the retail park is worse. Eh? I fully realise that people want a year round town centre presence for the club but at present (as far as I know) the figures just don't stack up and there are other things that have a more pressing demand on a limited kitty. You simply can't have everything. Except two cracking shirts of which I'll have one of each. Size L.

    absolutely spot on!!

  2. Although the away one is plain white I love the simple black and red hoop detail around the sleeves.

Would have been nice if the home mirrored that instead of the white an red hoops. But that's me being pedantic

  3. I was taking the 'exclusive' meaning they were the only sport shop selling it not literally the only place but maybe I have interpreted it wrong. I would surprised if you couldn't buy the gear at the stadium, pretty sure county and St mirren sell the gear in their shops. I agree it would have been great to launch it tonight in the shops but without knowing the reasons then it's hard to point fingers about why it hasn't. Also being available online is a huge bonus. I'll be buying both tops regardless when they come out.

  4. Even with Wigan in League one now McKay's salary will now be astronomical in comparison to what it was with us. Shame for him it hasnt really worked out down south but Wigan was a sinking ship at best when he joined. He will be a good signing for united (or Celtic B) which will probably come back to haunt us. That is if they dont sell the remainder of the team to their 'big club partner'

  5. First of all...there isn't going to be a sell out crowd because apparently we've still got more that 4000 tickets to sell.

going back to the actual topic, we've always been very late with kits...compared to everyone else anyway! And also, as far as I'm aware, we're contracted to erra for another 2 years. And if the home kit, which won't be changing is erra then the away one will be too...so no Cabrini kits.

Having had a look at the ticket sales online - looks like its edging towards a sellout in my eyes. Apart from Lower G there is only about 20 seats to be had in the main stand, Id say about 250 in the north stand. So unless there has been a huge expansion in the away capacity since I was at the stadium last week then we are looking good.

  6. Wikie is a good source. Atmosphere wise somewhere in Poland I imagine won't disappoint but hey I'll take anywhere really! Glamour tie wise looks like the 2nd round is where the possibilities really pick up.

  7. My main reason for asking the question was surrounding quality. For me personally compared to other manufacturers I don't think errea is up there. This years strip is good I'll give you that but I just would like to see us in something's a bit more solid. Again just my feeling. I never said errea were low profile I simply stated getting a more well known make. if you ask most people to list some kit manufacturers family fortune style I would doubt errea makes the top 5. I appreciate that there are many ways of doing kit deals etc and we've got to go with the best for the club. That's why I also brought up the topic of making our own kit as I thought that maybe more beneficial for the club. But listen I'm not in the sports retail industry but as a consumer I personally would love an Adidas/Nike level quality strip.

  8. With europe secured I imagine contracts will suddenly get pushed forward  - can't see players passing up european football to go anywhere unless that team have that already.

I appreciate that money talks though and with short careers you need to take the paying jobs like McKay. We all do it in our own careers.

Hopefully get Ofere locked down as although he's a few games that have been touch and go you can't argue with the goal record considering he wasn't match fit when he joined, surely only going to get better

  9. Out of interest, how come Aberdeen are entering in the 1st qualifying round? Did Motherwell not enter a round later this season for finishing 2nd?

I thought 2nd and 3rd place enter the 1st round and cup winner enters 2nd round. Not sure if things have changed in recent years as I know that it used to be the cup runner up got it if the winner had secured entry in the league also.

Hoping we get at least someone we have heard of but on the flip side not sure if the likes of Real Sociedad or Lyon will know where Inverness is! All we can hope for is mainland europe wouldn't be much of a trip to Ireland or down south.

  10. Now that we have secured 3rd place and european football I would hope that our profile has risen enough to secure a better kit manufacturer than Errea. No idea what our current deal with them is but would be great to get kits that are better quality. A quick scan throughout the 4 leagues and there are teams out there that have bigger profile companies than us.

    For Example

    Falkirk 2015/16 - Puma

    Accies 2014/15 - Own Brand/Nike

    Dundee 2014/15 - Puma

    Raith Rovers 2014/15 - Puma

    Queens Park 2014 15 - Under Armour

    Airdrieonians 2014/15 - Puma

Ayr United 2014/15 - Adidas (might be due to be owning by a multi millionaire)

    Greenock Morton 2014/15 - Nike

Would be great to even get picked up by an up and comer of the football shirt market like Celtics switch from nike to New Balance next year or even Warrior or Under Armour. I also like the idea of going with the own brand kit as surely more profit goes back into the team this way. Southamptons this year was a belter of a kit and thats an own brand.

  11. Absolutely smashing kit in my opinion. I think it's a progressive modern top and one of the most stylish in the SPFL. I get that some people may be disappointed in the lack of acknowledgement to older kits/colours but I think it is one we can all wear proudly. Not convinced by the comments it looks like a rangers top. Well done to who pushed this design forward, the integration of the Subway logo has been done with a bit of class rather than slamming it in your face like many kits these days i.e new hibs top. Always going to have people for and against no matter what decision is made.

  12. Carry on the chat from Partick wearing the cancer logo. Would of been nice if we could do something similar with Prostate Cancer seen as the club was the first in the SPFl to back it. Even something similar like they have done down south. Doesn't always have to be about the donation front, the awareness side is just as important.

I do hope the new strip is out before the trip down to Birmingham but its not a huge deal if its not. A craola drawn diagram of what it will look like would be nice though!

  13. Enjoyed the game at Stark's Park yesterday. Our play looked a lot more fluent and we controlled long stretches of the game far better than in the equivalent fixture last year, and as Don mentioned above, the changes in line-up didn't disrupt the fluency; in fact, our dominance became greater as the game wore on. We did lack impact in the final third: some of the final balls were a bit disappointing, and the Raith defence marshalled Mckay well and didn't give him much freedom, despite some excellent first touches. Williams seemed to be playing in a more central role than towards the end of last season, almost in the hole behind Mckay, and he had a very good half. Christie again provided real creativity in attack when he came on, and I really hope that the manager is thinking of him as a first choice starter in the coming season. I also liked the look of the number 18 when he came on (I thought it was Calum Ferguson, but someone mentioned above that he was playing for the U20s yesterday, so presumably it wasn't) - he seemed to have a good turn of pace in wide areas, which is something we could really do with.

The Fleetwood and Birmingham games will probably provide much tougher tests, but there was plenty to be happy with yesterday.

Thought today was a good demonstration of what Yogi is trying to achieve in terms of ball retention and movement....in all areas of the pitch.

What we all need to keep in mind is that these are essentially training games and the main objective/focus (for now) might not be how many goals we can score.  I know from discussions I've had with Russell and stuff we're putting in place for video analysis (first season where we're being asked to produce footage specifically for that purpose) that the team are concentrating on positioning at the moment and both he and John were happy with what they witnessed today in terms of the progress being made on that front.

Raith Rovers are no slouches and having spoken to one of their guys after the game he was both surprised and impressed by how much we frustrated them by not allowing them to get any time on the ball and limiting their options to all but trying to catch us on the counter....and credit where it's due, they just about did on a couple of occasions.

What was also reassuring was the fact that we made 5 half-time subs with a further 2 later on in the game....and every player that came on slotted into the team seamlessly.  That goes a long way to removing the fear I've had in previous seasons where injuries etc have left us having to rely on untried players or players without much match time.

Anyone who's not had a chance to see much or anything from the pre-season games should make sure they get themselves along for the Fleetwood game next Sunday....I have a feeling you'll regret missing it if you don't.

If Yogi and Russell are happy with the performances in terms of what they are looking to achieve then thats good enough for me. I was probably slightly harsh in my review having a bit more time to reflect as there was a lot of positive stuff being played on the field.

Number 18 yesterday was a Chris Brown and I agree looked comfortable on the field. Would have liked to have seen Ryan Baptie a bit more as have heard some good things about him from some of my hibbie friends. I think the real positive we have to see for the future of the club is these young lads coming on and making an impact Christie, Polworth and Ferguson are all up there in my eyes and excited to see them develop at the club.

  14. Have to say that was a pretty average performance in my eyes today. Considering the possession we had 1-0 was poor. I will give them the fact that it did feel as though Raith were playing a 8-1-1 formation at times with every man and his dug sitting in the back. Some good flashes of style today, not totally sold on the tika taka but there was moments of it working, however no one could cross a ball to save themselves. Christie played great and was one of the few actually driving at the defence. Other mentions have to go to Doran and Raven and Shinnie both doing a great job bombing down the line. For anyone that was at the Elgin game overall it was very similar. Will be interesting to see what its like when we come up against a stronger opposition, namely birmingham in august. If we can keep the ball retention up, keep the tight passing and improve the conversion rate I think we are in for another great season.

    Caley Marching into Europe 2015!

  15. Killy use errea as well and theirs has been released and that's home and away and third.....

They are not availabe to buy, only pre order. Easy really when they never change design and have the same sponsor. What really is the problem if the kit isnt out yet? How many of you that are moaning are actually going to buy one anyway?

I don't think the issue is regarding the kit being out or not I think that people just wanting to have a see what it will look like. Nothing wrong with being excited about a new strip being released but hey maybe that's just me!
