The online club shop has soft-launched this morning and as noted:

"The shop is currently set to "Browse Only" mode as we do our final checks and prepare to activate the online shopping cart. In the meantime your are welcome to place your order by telephone on 01463 227451 or 227452 where Jack and Laura will be happy to assist you."

One excellent feature of the new online shop is the postage rates !!!

It is perhaps not evident until you are finalising your order but now that the club have brought everything back 'in-house' rather than having an external company supply the service, the postal rates are excellent, and based on the actual cost to post the items rather than any weird formulas or additional tariffs the 3rd party companies may have used to drive up costs and maximise their (but not the club's) profit.

The club stipulated at a relatively early stage their preference for the postal rates to be based on standard Royal Mail charges. There are no additional fees added for shipping or packaging etc and no commission paid out to 3rd party suppliers. You pay for the items and you pay the standard cost of postage based on size/weight.

Its all great news for those of us in far flung places outside Inverness as we will no longer be gouged by service providers with no real interest in the club .....

There is even an option to avoid all the delivery charges, order online and "collect in person" !!!! Great stuff !!!
