  1. From what I watched, Celtic dominated possesion in first half especially but hardly tested Esson, in fact we probably had the better chances. We seemed to give them a bit too much respect first half, defending deep, but second half was much better.

Great save from Forster to deny Sutherland, who thought had a good game. We came close on a few other occasions but didn't really get a break.

We've seen some dodgy referees of late but tonights seemed to know what he was doing, making sure Celtic got through. Samaras was playing basketball, free kick for their second looked dodgy and he was having none of giving our spot kick until the linesman intervened.

Would have liked to have seen Hayes and Doran on longer plus Macdonald but anyway there's always next year!

  2. I have major doubts on it going ahead , more with the travel issue than the pitch, but there's a fair bit of snow coming and it's lying at low levels now.

The police would be quite happy to see it off with the marathon on tomorrow too.

Peter Lawell , John Reid and Lennon are pretty good at blowing hot air though, maybe they could send some north?

  3. Superb result. We looked back near our best going forward and played some nice stuff. Macdonald looked very good when he came in too so good to have options. Delighted also to see Shane get his first goal and it was a total peach too. The standout performers for me were Cox, Esson, Foran and Ross. Essons save at 2.0 was sensational and went a long way to ensuring the win.

On the negative, our defending, at least in the first half was ropey at best, and at a time when Motherwell were dominating possession, our back 4 showed little composure and hoofed it anywhere, usually back to the opposition. No point being too critical given our injuries though but at the moment I think Duff is our best right back available and against Celtic we will struggle with today's back 4.

We've been short of confidence of late so it was good to see once the 3rd goal went in we looked more like the ICT of a few months back.

    Bring on the shame FC.

  4. 2055: As we approach the last two hours of the transfer window, I can tell you English clubs have already broken the ?100m barrier for transfer fees spent this month - and that's before the mooted deals for Fernando Torres, Andy Carroll and David Luiz are taken into consideration. Unbelievable. By way of comparison - just ?29m was spent by English clubs this time last year. I repeat what I said at 1830... English football has gone absolutely mad.

^ from BBC , it really Is obscene money especially given the state the country is in.

  5. I quite like p & b . There's a lot of good posters too and I probably spend as much time in the general nonsense forum as the football side of things. It's got a good variety of forums and topics and usually good for a laugh.

  6. Despite what the gloom merchants will say, we played well and for me, at the risk of sounding like Neil Lennon, the ref has ruined the game. Didn't see the Munro incident but mccardle should have walked and Blackman could also have gone.

With 11 men it would have been very different.

    Keep the faith

  7. We weren't as bad as some would have you believe but still

struggle to find a real cutting edge unless Hayes is playing.

I thought Sanchez played well and put in a lot of effort. Nick Ross was excellent and I thought Duff played well.

Eric really struggled, albeit out of position, and his first touch let him down a lot of the time.

I'd start Russell D , we always play better with him in the team and assuming we get some players in I'd send Sutherland out on loan.
