  1.

Our best ever result at that ground? Always good to see the team make a bit of history.

Not quite - we actually recorded a 4-1 win back in 2006/07 when a certain Richie Foran was in Motherwell's team!

Grant Munro, Ross Tokely, Craig Dargo and Rory McAllister scored our goals that day.

Not quite, we beat Gretna there 4-0 in 2007/08 season  Wyness, Cowie, Wilson and McBain the scorers

  2. If striped tops would sell as well as the non-striped tops I'm certain the club would go down that route. The fact is they don't and at the end of the day ICT is a business aiming to make money and if the who are going to buy the top prefer non-stripes then that's what they'll provide.

  3. Going by that logic gordie, why don't we start selling off the shoulders and arms like this Norwegian club and make 'loooads o'money' to compete at the top?

In fact why dont we just sell off our name like TNS did so we can play in the champions league? FC Orion Group sound alright?

On the other hand FC United of Manchester have managed to raise over £50,000 over the past month through sponsorships, revenue schemes and many different supporters groups and activities. FC United once again showing the footballing world how to make money without having to sell your soul or identity through further commercial exploitation!

I'd happily have sponsors over the majority of the top if it meant we had money to go sign a higher quality of player.

As for 'selling our soul' what an absolute load of rubbish, this FC United rubbish is a heap of Man United fans so there outreach of 'fans' is much larger than ours.

  4. Ffs! I realise it's extra money for the club but thats now a main sponsor, short sponsor and now a 'back of the shirt' sponsor. Cringe!!! How long before we start looking like a Japanese pro-league side, all for a little few more pennies

Given the financial state of Scottish football imagine the club trying to earn some much needed money. Absolutely shocking.

  5. They also had more home games against Celtic and Aberdeen to boost the average.

Actually, they only had Aberdeen at home once, whereas we had the boost of two visits from the dons fans.

They do have Dundee United as well and Hearts took a massive crowd there on the opening week(s) of the season

  6. Last year I played an 11s game at airdries stadium that we hired out. 22 of us paid something like a tenner each to play in a professional stadium with a ref. the quality of the artificial pitch was very decent I thought and if we were to rent out the stadium very much like what airdrie do then it would be a good bit of business. With them having so many clubs around them it is always in use. We tried booking it last month and it was constantly booked with teams like Motherwell and st mirren training on it.

I've also played on that pitch at the Excelsior and must admit it is great quality, as has been mentioned pitches like that can be rented out and used constantly, and in the long term will recoup the money spent on it

  7. I've got no problem with the keep the ball on the deck, working from the back mentality. That said, this philosophy only works if the team, especially with 5 in midfield, play with width, that way the players in the middle of the park can get going into the pockets of space and create the play from there. We play so narrow it means that in a space that should be 2v2, 3v2 it's actually 4v4, 5v5, meaning there is no space for midfielders to create anything thus going back the way before a long punt.

  8. 'Apparently' in his first day of training with us he walked into a group of players, including Foran, and offered a bet on whether he'd score a hat trick on his first start for us or not.
