The other side of the coin is that tha money we could accrue by holding on to them in terms of getting further in the cups, higher up the league, more revenue from TV rights, bigger crowds etc, would more than counterbalance the loss in terms of releasing them when they are out of contract for zilch.

chris, you worry too much, everyone is untried at SPL level until they get a game in the SPL.  Rankin will be as good as what we already have. Most of our present players were only 'first division' players before we got promoted. There is no gap between the decent first division players and players who play for teams like us. Remember Celtic and Rangers pay millions for some of their players and they are not always worth that extra five million pounds.

Poor Charlie, he can't do anything right for doing something wrong in some eyes.  I don't think we have done anything wrong in bringing Rankin to iCT, he will not disappoint, trust me, but don't expect him to bring instant success.  And this is the year for Charlie to be appraised, given a whole season in charge and playing the way he wants the team to.

Tough luck on Rossco.  The buddies will be pleased if he misses the start of the season, but as said above, we have decent cover for Rossco, although I would rather have him in the team than sitting in the stand. It may well be one of those lingering injuries, but lets leave that to the doctor and the medics to decide whats best for him.

Last few games were poor scorers apart from a 50 pointer for Germany Argentina draw.

Frogs were the biggest upset for me, 5 pointer, strangely enough I thought about altering my post to a draw, but left it at 2-0 to Brazil. Semis all European affairs, could be unpredictable, but here are my predictions.....

I see that Beckham is stepping down as England captain................he would be as well stepping down as an England player.

David Beckham has decided to step down as England captain after holding the role for six years.

But the Real Madrid star does want to to continue his international career.
