  1. Im sorry but if i was living up in Inverness i'd still be a season ticket holder. It doesn't matter how bad the club is we still need a support otherwise our club will be on a further slippery slope. Obviously i can get to only one game a year but its a commitment for me and we need to do the same. It doesnt matter what quality of football we play we still need to back our side.

  2. Yeah thats true, its just a great shame to me, Football is losing its loyalty and almost Tribal status. The only loyal element now is the fans (and even some fans are supporting the best team at the time). Its a great shame, and Redknapp personifies that. I hope for Portsmouth's sake their next manager takes pride at being their boss.

  3. Honestly who could we get that is better? a 7500 seater stadium and 1 point off relegation, were not gonna attract Mourinho or Rikjaard. Brewster is decent and id be inclined to want him to stay, for stability's sake at least!

  4. I honestly believe he should stay. Hes kept us up and I trust it will stay that way. I dont think he should go this season unless we drop into relegation. As far as im concerned given the size of the club and the finances we have available we are doing exceptionally well. Lets not kid ourselves, were no Rangers or Celtic.

  5. If im totally honest Burley's reign has seen a step backward. I know Alex Mcleish left to manage in the prem and Walter Smith left to manage Rangers but honestly they left Burley with a confident side after the Euro Qualification and hes done little with it. I know we need to retain managers but Burley isnt really the man for the job. Weve got to end this wretched stretch without a tournament and find someone who can really take us to the World Cup.

    Alex Ferguson anyone? :rotflmao:

  6. Of course Pompey fans are pee'd off. They've just lost a good manager.

But their a small team compared to Tottenham and if Redknapp wants to manage in London again with a big club before he retires then fair play to him. He's probably taken Portsmouth further than most ever imagined possible and left behind a very good squad of players.

Aye hes done well. Theres no denying his management credentials and grudgingly im 100% sure he'll keep spurs up. I do think hes a shifty character mind, and i do think he has delusions of grandure. Hes not up there with Sir Alex and Wenger, and he never will be. I think Spurs should have kept Jol, i liked him, and hes done wonders with Hamburg in the Bundesliga.

  7. Its been a tough run of late but to suggest Brewster should go is a touch hasty.

Look to last season at this stage we were on a 7 or 8 game losing streak. At least its an improvement. Which is surely what we want.

With a club our size, with our budget what really can we expect to do? How much an improvement should we be making? How much progress are people after?

I say Champions League winners in 5 years.

Really, honestly, without serious investment and a huge fan base increase we are doing fairly well and cant expect fairytales all the time. From what i hear we gave Celtic a real run for their money.

This site used to be a fairly bright, optimistic place. Why all the doom and gloom. Is it really that bad?

Nah your right, we should be more optimistic, the fact were even still in the SPL is impressive. As i say i dont think Brewster should go, its extremely early days for that. We can (and i think will) turn it around and i dont think we will get relegated if im truly honest. I think Hamiltion Accies will occupy that spot. Doesnt mean to say our season is perfect, but for now, lets look at the positives!

  8. I'm here in the fervour of Redknapp leaving (living in Portsmouth) and no matter what Moneybags Redknapp and Sky Sports will have you believe, Portsmouth fans are P*ssed. I feel for them, 'Arry isnt the most Loyal of folks. I hope he sinks with HMS Hotspur as at least it will bring his ego down with his club, and maybe even his payout! :rotflmao:

  9. On one hand all our losses this season have been by 1 goal and with a few breaks we could have won/drawn all of them. The margins really aren't that big.

Its all very well losing by a goal to nil and saying 'oh its fine we almost did it it'l be better next week' until we find ourselves bottom. Its a tight league but that in itself provides the impotus to get results because otherwise you'll be left behind. Yes we did have a decent game against Celtic but honestly thats not enough, not when yer a point of relegation.

I dont think Brewster needs to go, yet. The jury is still out for me, who can we get that will do a better job? He's kept us up before he can do it again, were three points of fourth. Its doable certainly and id trust Brewster to keep us up, in honesty.

But that said we do need to buck up our ideas. We cant be complacent and end up last. Again Motherwell was a game we should have got a point out of. But a late slip up cost us. We need to tighten it up at the back and then ill be convinced of a better league finish.
