  1. If we had scored late on, would his tactics have really been that bad? Blame the players, not the tactics. Plenty talent on that field t create something...it didnt come.

We lost the match because Tokely was sent off.

Playing out of his accustomed position was a major contributory factor...

Was there not a spell quite a few seasons ago where Tokely was tried at CB (presumably because he's big and solid and looks like a CB should look), but it was s complete disaster?

When I listened to the pre-match interview with Terry Butcher and heard him say that he was putting Tokes in at CB (apparently as extra security against an anticipated ariel bombardment), my first thought was oh sh*t, nobody's told him about Rosco's previous attempts at being a CB. I'm sure Butcher probably thought it was a stroke of genius. Then the inevitable happens, he makes a serious gaff, red card, relegation, the nation weeps.

  2. Aberdeen fans live in cloud cuckoo land. they think coz they had 4 years of sucsess (in their whole history), all of 27 yrs ago....they should still be winning trophies!

Behind Rangers....they are my next most loathed SPL team

To be fair, they won the SPL in 1985, a mere 24 years ago, so their expectation of challenging for it every season is surely still justified :030: .

  3. McGhee to dons and Butcher to return to Motherwell........ :030:

Exactly the thought that entered my head about 1 second after I heard of Calderwood's resignation.

The next thought was "I bet, if that all happens, there'll be people touting Barry Wilson for the Caley job" :thumb01n:

I think I'd take Robbo back now.

  4. ICT Relegated by goal difference! :030:

Newcastle Utd....Relegated by one point! :thumb01n:

    Huns win the league! :thumb01n:

Does it get worse than that!

Yeah, it all sucks, but at least Airdrie got relegated. Don't want their sort visiting our stadium.

Also very amusing to see Alan Shearer make such a hash of things...I'd like to see him now return to Match of the Day as a supposed "expert" pundit and tell us all each week how such-and-such a team are getting their tactics all wrong. Sure thing, Alan, and your heroic "rescue" of Newcastle consisted of how many wins?

    • Cheaper ticket prices (hopefully)
    • Highland derbies
    • 2 away games that are less than 100 miles away
    • Standing on the side of the pitch opposite the main stand (hopefully)
    • Starting the season hoping to challenge for the league title, rather than fearing relegation
    • Ending the season in contention for the league title, rather than a relegation battle (hopefully)
    • Playing SPL teams (in Cup matches) will feel special again
    • Playing against Morton and Partick - I like their kits
    • Hopefully getting the occasional big win - particularly if we can give Airdrie a good thrashing, although hopefully they will lose to Ayr today

I've said "hopefully" quite a lot. Looking at the other teams in Div1, we could quite easily end up down the bottom end of that league, but hopefully not.

  5. Chris Harvey the STV Sports presenter on North Tonight said not to be surprised to see Brian Kerr signed up before Sunday or Monday, so i assume he'll sign for us then. Butcher knows that a lack ok firepower is reason we are at bottom so good on him adding and looking at signing forwards/Strikers.

I think it's our very leaky defence is the reason we're bottom. Defensive solidity is what made us a safe SPL team over the past years. Tight at the back, well organised, hard to beat, sneaking a goal and holding on to a lead.

This season, that's gone. We have scored a similar number of goals to the rest of the bottom 6, yet they all have lots more points.

St Mirren have scored 4 less than us, but are 8 points clear. They've conceded 14 less than us. Yes, they're dull as dirty dish water, but they're starting to look safe.

  6. Where are Caley fans getting the notion that Kerr is a) A decent midfielder or b.) showed potential at Motherwell?

Lazy Midfielder, who you do not want in your side when you're up against it. Granted he score a few decent goals every now and then. Only chance seeing him showing up often enough to be decent is if you're live on TV every week.

If Butcher signs him, one can only hope that it's because he knows he's been a good player for him in the past and can still do a job for him.

Hopefully, not just because he's unattached and on the verge of giving up hope of ever finding a club again, so will gratefully sign for any club and take any wages.

  7. They don't seem to realise that there is little or no time to spare. We are sitting at the bottom of the league and staring relegation straight in the face. Can they not see that? What are they doing about it? Why can't they explain what they are doing?

Is this a fit and proper body of men to be charged with the responsibility of running a football club?

You're right. They can't see that relegation is a real danger and have just sacked Brewster for a laugh. From what I've heard, they've all gone on holiday to the Carribbean, which is why they're not attending any press conferences. What an utter disgrace.

  8. John Robertson - mixed record, wouldn't mind having him back, even though I'm fairly sure he'd take us down. I'm secretly looking forward to Div 1 anyway :D

Terry Butcher - did well at 'well but I couldn't bear to watch us lie down 3 times a season against Rangers. Did ***** at Brentford :D .

Derek McInnes - can't see him leaving a club about to join the SPL for one about to leave it :P

Neale Cooper - mixed record at lower league level...maybe if we fall to Div 2 :D

    Steven Pressley - he's m e n t a l :021:

Duncan Shearer - deary me....and Brian Irvine, too :018:

Jim Duffy - not enough going on up top :015: half of the league

Barry Wilson - just what we need, a guy with zero experience :rotflmao:

Derek Adams - spends too much time with his dad :D

Donald Park - not again...ffs, he's just some jumped up taxi driver :D

Stevie Frail - Stevie Fail

    Steve Paterson - yesterday's hero :D

Craig Brown - I can hear him now on the day he takes us down "but we had 3 more corner kicks this season than Hamilton" :D

Ian McCall - wouldn't mind him. He might do well, but even if he didn't, it woul dbe fun giving him pelters from the stands :thumb04:

Gordon Chisholm - yeah, 'cos QOS are doing so well right now ;)

No mention of Blobby Williamson :D ?
