Matchday Thread: Dundee Utd -V- ICT
I'm sure we took 6 off Gretna once or twice... ....but do they count?
-
CaleyJags sign 9 stars of tomorrow
Some of them look promising but that Christie lad on the left looks too wee for the professional game.

Season ticket bought -
This is the SPL, but it may as well be called the GashPL.
-
Tokely destination
Latest I've heard is that top clubs like Brazil and Spain aren't interested in him afterall. So Toke's World Cup dream is over for another lifetime.
-
Can ICT win the SPL?
It's not so much whether we can win the SPL that concerns me, it's whether we can win the Champions' League the following season.

Clachnacuddin 1-6 Inverness CT (FT)
Did this kick off at 7:30pm?

Talking Tactics
We lost the match because Tokely was sent off. Playing out of his accustomed position was a major contributory factor... Was there not a spell quite a few seasons ago where Tokely was tried at CB (presumably because he's big and solid and looks like a CB should look), but it was s complete disaster? When I listened to the pre-match interview with Terry Butcher and heard him say that he was putting Tokes in at CB (apparently as extra security against an anticipated ariel bombardment), my first thought was oh sh*t, nobody's told him about Rosco's previous attempts at being a CB. I'm sure Butcher probably thought it was a stroke of genius. Then the inevitable happens, he makes a serious gaff, red card, relegation, the nation weeps.

Calderwood gone
To be fair, they won the SPL in 1985, a mere 24 years ago, so their expectation of challenging for it every season is surely still justified :030: .
-
Calderwood gone
Exactly the thought that entered my head about 1 second after I heard of Calderwood's resignation. The next thought was "I bet, if that all happens, there'll be people touting Barry Wilson for the Caley job" :thumb01n: I think I'd take Robbo back now.

Worst Footballing Weekend Of My Life!
Yeah, it all sucks, but at least Airdrie got relegated. Don't want their sort visiting our stadium. Also very amusing to see Alan Shearer make such a hash of things...I'd like to see him now return to Match of the Day as a supposed "expert" pundit and tell us all each week how such-and-such a team are getting their tactics all wrong. Sure thing, Alan, and your heroic "rescue" of Newcastle consisted of how many wins?

Division 1 Positives
I hope so, otherwise the season will be over by Christmas.
-
Division 1 Positives
County again. We play them twice away.

Division 1 Positives
Cheaper ticket prices (hopefully) Highland derbies 2 away games that are less than 100 miles away Standing on the side of the pitch opposite the main stand (hopefully) Starting the season hoping to challenge for the league title, rather than fearing relegation Ending the season in contention for the league title, rather than a relegation battle (hopefully) Playing SPL teams (in Cup matches) will feel special again Playing against Morton and Partick - I like their kits Hopefully getting the occasional big win - particularly if we can give Airdrie a good thrashing, although hopefully they will lose to Ayr today I've said "hopefully" quite a lot. Looking at the other teams in Div1, we could quite easily end up down the bottom end of that league, but hopefully not.

Rangers -v- Ict : Matchnight Thread
Superb result, up there with the best in the club's history! Even better is that we can all laugh at Rangers .
-
Let's all laugh at Livvy
Perhaps Angelo Massone hasn't realised there's a league of another 12 teams above Div 1.
