Wonder if Motherwell will refund my train fare...

Muvversmell must be clear runner up to Tinkerville when it comes to dodgy pitches.
Hey, auld yin, Longman may be 160miles(ish) north of FP but the suburb of Knowetop is approx 1000 feet above your sea level hame and enjoys very little shielding/protection from the elements. The average snow fall is probably higher than the banks of the MF. It's rained non-stop for the last 4 days while we on the Moray Firth/Coast have enjoyed a relatively mild time of it over the Festive Season. While your Merger grass is almost virginal, by comparison Fir Park is as old as you, having first seen action in the late 1800's and with the area of Knowetop formerly hosting several Pits it's a wonder the pitch aint sunk more than it has. Add in the building of that monstrosity at the bottom of the slope in the early 90's and the once effective drainage route for excess water has been eliminated.

Safe Standing areas have apparently been given Govt. approval. I would have thought that an option for you. Our East Stand was a covered shed until 1991 and there is fan pressure to return it to such ----- the cost being the major hurdle.
Does anyone know if there is going to be any plans for the stand opposite the main stand? I thought the singing section could go there?
You got a "singing section" ?

What strikes me is how 'refreshing' the draw looks without the Ugly Sisters in it
Spot on. Before the draw was made I was unable to make a Yes/No list. Morton aside, imho the other 7 are capable of beating each other. Motherwell v ICT Final at Pittodrie

Let's hope for another shock or two tomorrow night to make our task even easier!
You mean a Falkirk, Livi & QoS treble ? The sponsors will be hoping for 2 of Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs in the final, but personally I find it very refreshing that it is wide open now. Good to see the silverware being shared around, and given current form you boys must fancy your chances.

Fantastic examples of "traditional" sheds there ........... thanks for that folks. It's a pity so called progress has enforced the demise of these gathering places. Sadly very few left now.
There was something special about gathering with your mates and cheering your team from a covered terrace. In the late 70's-early 80's away days to Ayr, Kilmarnock, Accies, Airdrie, Partick, Dunfermline, Falkirk were always eagerly anticipated. The atmosphere was often intimidating but exciting at the same time. Several thousand vociferous youths supporting their team with real gusto, separated by a line of Cops or segregation fence ------- 90mins of noise.

Went for a random look last week and was gutted to see the old end terrace has been demolished/renovated. Anyone got any pics of the old shed to share ?

Apologies for inadvertently re-opening old wounds. It certainly wasn't my intention.
I've never experienced a merger, (just outsourcing then redundancy ), and hopefully never will - so I can only guess the emotions of 20yrs ago.
I have to ask tho: 1. Was the merger a condition of acceptance to the SFL ? 2. Would you rather have made application individually ? 3. If yes to 2, would either Caley or Thistle be playing Premiership football right now ? 4. What was the deciding factor in being a Caley or Thistle or Clach fan ?

Dunno where this has come from but we are not 20 yet!
Heard it on BBC Radio Scotland this morning, and there was an interview with Charlie Christie on same at lunchtime. Thistle voted 33-12 while Caley voted 55-50 apparently.
Born in Muvversmell and working in Morayshire - what would you expect !!
Born in Lanark if you please and working in Inverness But I appreciate the diplomacy my old friend

Was gobsmacked at this appointment. He's failed everywhere he's been and by the sounds of things gets elocution lessons from Charlie Nicolas.
Just as well Hearts are in the mire. This time next season I reckon it'll be
