  1. Switched on BBC Scotland tonight trying to decide which team to dislike most:

Our championship rivals or the one who could give us a local rivalry.

In the end I couldn's stand more that the first half amateurish drivel - they even made Willie Miller seem calm, composed and to have been the beneficiary of a few good elocution lessons.

Every time anything looked like happening they got over-excited, grabbed the mike and made everything echo madly.

BBC Radio Scotland PAH ! More like RADIO CORNHILL

  2. I feel sorry for BBC Radio pundits watching us play - we pass the ball so well and so often that they can't keep track of where the ball is and what players are involved. They don't get time to pull out their drivelly cliches they prepared earlier.

I was on my sick bed last night and it drove me batty trying to work out where the ball was on the pitch last night in amongst the usuall gibberrish. Even open all mikes might have been on a par.

Dunno why you're all so angry about the ref, according to the The Sun he had a cracking game!

Seriously though, that'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

    Pure Viz classic :-)

My wife is from Liverpool and will have nothing to do with the Sun. This illustrates why.

  4. In managers section of P and J match report on Monday from weekends game there is a quote from Hughes (final paragraph from article) saying that "hopefully 1/2 will be signed by next week"

So that means 1/2 from Rajcomar/Vukanovic/Kink may be signed up.

Maybe John now realises that a Striker is a must and has spoken to board to try to get that to happen.

    Thoughts?

Maybe what Yogi means is that after a long look at the players, on and off the pitch, 1 or 2 may fit into our squad both in terms of talent and getting on with the rest of the squad.

  5. With the style Yogi uses I prefer to think of everyone of our squad as footballers - in the total football game when we have the ball everyone is an attacker and when we don't have the ball everyone is a defender.

I like to think that with the way our club is coached everyone in our squad is capable of contributing to degfence and attack and will be comfortable on the ball in any part of the pitch.

  6. I don't know where the idea of an unentertaining game comes from. I was at the game with a 12 year old who had never been to a live game before with his mum who has been to very few games.

They both went away really delighted with the standard of entertainment dished up and slightly disappointed that we did not win a game where we dominated possession.

I though it was a highly entertaining game with both teams contributing to that and the referee also making a contribution (not positively), and I was also disappointed that we did not win.

For those who only class as entertainment goals scored by ICT I suggest that they reconsider the meaning of entertainment.

We can't win every game, much as I would like us to, and we have to accept that on occassion the opposition may add to the value of the game as a spectacle.

Life would be boring if everything went the way we wanted it to go.

  7. I believe that we had a contingency plan which involved approaching clubs and/or players after Billy was sold.

However if we were not given permission to speak to players or were turned down by players there is not much to be done.

Where we are at the moment I would prefer that we do not just take someone because they are available - unless someone is good enough for ICT and will fit into the group (on and off the park) that are here then we should not make a panic purchase.

You just need to look at a club not 20 miles form here to work out what problems we could be letting ourselves in for if we get the wrong mix in the dressing room.

  8. Had a youngster there today for his first ever live game. He went away delighted with the fare on show - we were the better team in terms of possession and smooth football but from a neutral's point of view this would have been an excellent game to watch - lots of attacking play, meaty challenges, bizzare refereeing, etc.

The lad has signed up to Caley Jags Together and I am sure will be at more matches pretty soon.

  9. It's encouraging Hughes is still looking about for re-enforcements. Although the inference must be that he doesn't yet think that Ali Sutherland or Calum Ferguson are ready for the first team.

He's probably right, we're coming into the 'business end' of the season, and it's maybe unfair to throw them in at the moment. This guy, has much more experience and without wanting to generalise, Dutch footballers tend to adapt very well to the UK/Scottish game. His recent international experience should have given him confidence too.

I wasn't excited about Sekajja's appointment, but I think this player may be worth a punt!

Now I've said that, I'll probably now read in the Highland News today that he's been released with 'good wishes'!

Dutch footballers did not fit in seamlessly over the bridge!

  10. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to go by bus to this game. We must have bookings by 17th February so that we know if there is sufficient demand to run a bus.

As it costs just under £600 to hire the bus we need a good number to justify the cost.

The likely departure time would have to be 3.30 or 4 p.m. at the latest, and I wouldn't expect to be back in Inverness till around midnight.

So get booking now, and we will make a decision next week based on the response - you will not be able to leave it till the last minute to decide if you are going.

  11. For me the only thing that worries me about all this is the clarity of information given to the media and as such to the fans. If Yogi thinks we can get by with what we've got, that's his call and he will be judged on it, If Kenny and the board made decisions about finances that's their call and they will be judged on it. The big but is statements from Kenny that I took as meaning something was in place to cover for Billy going, then Yogi talking about loans etc. I expected this to mean someone being brought in. I'm not raging because we didn't sign players nor do I think we can compete for Europe without a proper striker but what I would have liked is clarity from board and manager.

The problem with clarity here is that all transfer plans depend on the other side - will the other club release a player, will wage demands be within our budget, will the player want to up sticks to come to the centre of our universe, etc.

Cut a little slack to the manager and the chairman - make your judgements after the next month when we know if there has been an adverse effect on results.

  12. I thought we were a bit below par all over the pitch but I would put that down to a combination of the terrible conditions - howling wind and atrocious surface preventing our usual passing game, and the need to adapt to a new system without Billy.

As for those dissing Carl Tremarco, they must have been watching a different game from me and the official Man of the Match Sponsor after all was he not named Man of the Match. Most of our good attacking moves came down his side of the pitch with some decent crosses in from the bold Carl.

My hope for next week is that there is a decent surface at Partick and that our current bogey team who have been able to cope with our system with Billy up front may struggle to cope with whatever Yogi comes up with for the next phase without Billy.

  13. As long as Graeme continues to perform he should keep his place on the park.

If we drop him as a knee jerk reaction we stoop to the level of a club who puts a legend on gardening leave for having the temerity to submit his resignation in accordance with his contract.

I hope our club and our fans are better than that.
