WHY have we brought in another striker? How manys that now? Storey, White, Toddy, Keatings, Harkness, as well as Roddy Kennedy at Fort William. That's 6 strikers at our disposal, adding Shane makes it 7. Unless he's preparing for some mass injury crisis which results in the injury of all our strike force, I have no clue...

White will be away in the summer, Keatings is played behind the main forward usually, storey is usually deployed out wide. At least one of Harkness and Kennedy will most likely be loaned out again. So I think he's preparing well for the summer.

Also Shane is far more prolific than any of our strikers at the moment so I'll it's a clever signing

Not sure about the comments on Vincent I thought he had a good game worked hard and cleaned up in mid field .

Think it's more the problem that he's far too slow on the ball, and slowed down the flow of a few promising counter attacks due to his inability at times to release the ball quickly. Again though he'd probably work better with a midfield that includes a player like Welsh so he can take on more of a Chalmers role. Although Carson looks more than capable of that plus a little bit better on the ball than Vincent.

  3. Probably my main problem with Vincent is the fact that he's too pedestrian, and he's far too slow in realising the ball at times. This is probably made worse by the fact he's paired with Carson, who is too similar a player to Vincent, and it probably exaggerates his slowness on the ball even more. Probably if you paired him with Welsh he could work better

It was more from where he was doing it from than where they were going. From the second half, where it's clearer to see the attacking work, where he was putting in the low crosses from weren't going anywhere. Their defenders were terrific, and are considerably better, it seems, than ours. They can challenge the ball well both in the air and on the ground and can get it out of danger easily. That's exactly what we need from our back 4, we're all over the shop, but Arbroath had it handled to a tee.

Yeah I suppose but then on the flip side Arbroath made it difficult to get into quality crossing positions. Maybe if players had started making runs to the front post, we may have got more chances to score. In regards to the Arbroath defenders as players I don't think they were better than any in the Caley defence. I think it's the more the fact they are so well drilled defensively and know what their doing as a unit. If Caley can get the sort of cohesiveness defensively as last season then things will definetly start looking better.

Not going to lie, I think Walsh needs to work on his crosses. Most (but not all) were more like passes which, in turn, found nobody. There was a couple that actually caught some airtime, but ground driven crosses aren't very helpful at the range he was putting them in from...

Actually the ground driven crosses are probably more effective against physical and defensive teams like Arbroath. Low balls pinging around the box are more likely to cause errors than high balls in, because Arbroath were playing an extremely low block with defenders that are competent in the air.

What's the script with "fans" saying it's a Diddy cup it most defo ain't that I was gutted when we lost to Aberdeen in the final winning builds momentum no point dressing it up as a glorified friendly we had plenty time to play them we lost to a gash part time team in a national cup hopefully still time to turn it round and qualify from the group!

Partly agree with the sentiment however Peterhead are far from being 'gash'.

Although a warning of what may  be to come don't you think?

The- team---- should they  not be fresh out of the blocks , regardless of when and whom they are playing?

I suppose it's always disappointing to start a season off like this, but I'd rather see how they are getting on in October when the players should be at maximum match sharpness. If they're doing poorly at that point then maybe there is cause for concern.

  9. They more than likely were however with Caley being rusty aswell it evens out the playing field a little more. They've also just came off the high of promotion which adds an extra layer to the competitiveness of the game.

  10. Winning 3-0 would've been good however our first competitive game back the players are always going to be rusty. Even if we don't make it out of the group stages it may not be a bad thing as it means less games for a thin squad, and less chances of injuries.
