  1. Do We Have To After the poor result at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday, many fans are asking this question: Do we have to play them again? Unfortunately the answer is yes, and it's only three days after the rubbish we were subject to at the weekend. Hamilton away on Tuesday night is the venue, 7:45pm is the kick-off time. Dodds said after the game that he could "see the life being drained out of his players". For many supporters the enthusiasm is draining from their very souls making it difficult to back the present regime. Only three home wins this season has left Inverness hovering just above the relegation tussle. If things get any worse we will be involved in that tussle. The optimist in me is saying a good run of results could see us scrape into the play-offs at the top end of the table, however that seems a long shot at the moment. Many fans that venture onto the forums are questioning their sanity. Sitting out in the open air on bitterly cold Saturday afternoons watching error strewn frustratingly poor quality football is not encouraging them to splash their hard earned cash on another season ticket. The big talking point is how can we beat Livingston, who are fourth in the Premiership 3-0, then one week later get turned over by the same score by bottom of the Championship Hamilton Accies at home. Something we are getting used to now as we have only two wins in our last eleven games against Accies. Of course we live in eternal hope but even the most ardent of fans will be looking to this game with trepidation rather than anticipation. The only good news from Saturday is that Austin Samuels made a twenty minute appearance, so that's another one ticked off the list. Sutherland, Walsh, Woods, Ram and MacGregor still to make a return. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match/Ticket/ Supporters Bus Info Killie Cup Tickets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nothing has changed since the last game three days ago therefore there's little information to impart. Accies have learned how to beat us and carry out their plan of action to a man and stick rigidly to their task. We may be slightly better suited to playing away from home. Unfortunately the results against Accies are still not forthcoming at either venue of late. Team Lines from Saturday: ICTFC: Ridgers, Carson, Duffy, Devine, Harper, Henderson, Welsh (Boyd 79), Allardice, Shaw (Cairns 76), D Mackay (Samuels 69), B Mckay Subs (not used): C Mackay; Deas, Thompson, Delaney, Hyde, Doran ACCIES: Fulton; Tumilty (Lawson 73), Owens, D McGowan, O'Reilly (McGinn 87), L Smith (Stephenson 58), Shiels, C Smith, Martin, De Bolle (Winter 73), Tiehi (Zanatta 87) Subs (not used): J Smith; Easton, Newbury, Latona CTO summary from last game : After last weeks cup result at Livingston, many were expecting better things. However the Caley Jags have the knack of ruining the weekend with another horror show against a poor Accies side who seem to be able to beat us whenever they want these days. In truth we were the architect of our own downfall with misplaced passes, defence at sixes and sevens and was that really a penalty. Difficult to pick a MotM from that performance but David Carson was one of the few who made himself available all the time and was willing to get forward. Just when it looked like we might be turning a corner we come up with a performance like that. It defies logic to be honest and even the diehards are wondering why they bother. 2. Kidz Kup By all accounts, a young Inverness XI will travel to Hamilton to play Accies in the SPFL Trust Trophy amid a controversial decision by the Caley Jags to try and rest players as an unprecedented injury crisis ravages the club. The game is scheduled for a 3:00pm start on Saturday. Here's the Official Statement from the club. Despite this, the Supporters Club are still running a bus to Hamilton at 10:00am to get behind whoever will be taking to the field in the name of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Match tickets are priced at an amazing Xmas special of £3:00. Ryan Esson will be in charge of the young team as far as I know. Good luck guys. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ICTFC ACADEMY TWITTER ACCOUNT ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well done to the ICT Supporters Travel Club who are backing the players whether they are 16 or 36 Book your seats HERE or call 07462 218717 to get a seat on the bus. At the risk of facing a backlash from the authorities Inverness have let their intentions be known that they will be massively understrength for this SPFL Trust Trophy game. They are looking at the bigger picture which is obviously the Championship, but I wonder what the sponsors feel about this. It's difficult to conjure up a meaningful preview for this one given that the Official Site has little to no information regarding the u18 squad. I imagine the squad will have the likes of out of favour keeper Mark Ridgers in goal, or maybe not as they must have an u18 keeper of their own. It's probably best for you to make up your own preview for this one as off the field ICTFC are fast becoming less media friendly than Welfare League clubs of the 70's. Come on guys, time to get your act together. I'll try and find out more, but it needs to be released by the club before we can find out who or what are our likely squad players for this weekend. I'll wait...just like I have to do every weekend as we are normally the last team to release squad details. Pull your socks up. Anyway, good luck to whoever plays in this one, can't really do much worse than the present crop of first team substitutes who have struggled recently. Here's Ryan to give us an insight into the predicament. This was one of the more recent releases by the club regarding the u18's. Not sure how Accies will react to our plight, but they also have a job to do. Here's Eck's insight》》》 No new signings have arrived at New Douglas Park. Manager (at the moment) John Rankin has some injury worries in the midfield area with Lewis Spence and Marley Redfern both out with knee injuries. Lucas De Bolle is out with concussion and not expected back in action until the end of the year.
  3. No Rice We would have locked horns with one of our olde gaffers sidekicks this weekend as Inverness travel to the Fountain of Youth Stadium (NDP) in South Lanarkshire. Brian Rice was the man who took Accies down, and not before time if you ask me as they have been flirting with relegation for years, but he resigned in August. Former player and assistant manager Stuart Taylor is the man tasked with reshaping the Accies. Good luck with that. This one kicks off at 3:00pm on Saturday with Inverness looking to continue their tremendous start to the season and Accies looking to kick start theirs as they sit second bottom with only one win and two draws to their name so far. Surprisingly, Accies have a better record than us at the Caledonian Stadium overall, but we have been more productive in the away fixture with six wins and a draw out of the nine fixtures. It's four years since our last meeting when we won 2 - 1 at the Caledonian Stadium in what was a difficult season for Inverness culminating in relegation. Brad Mckay and Greg Tansey scored for Inverness whilst Danny Redmond notched a late consolation for the visitors. However, three weeks later we were relegated From the Archives: Rare win for Inverness gives hope: Inverness threw themselves a slender lifeline with a deserved 2-1 win over Hamilton Accies in the relegation scrap at the foot of the table. It was only our second win in twenty-four games and our fourth of the season. This win closes the gap to Accies and Well to four points with only three games left. We should have been out of site by half time and Accies could have had no complaints had we been four or five up at the break. As it was, an early goal from defender Brad Mckay and a penalty by Greg Tansey was all we had to show from numerous attempts. Accies left a bitter sweet taste in the mouth as they notched a goal through Redmond with the last kick of the game as we got ourselves in a fankle. Pity about that but it was a welcome three points that gives us a glimmer of hope and keeps our premiership status alive for another week at least. Inverness dug deep last weekend to overcome a stubborn but mainly toothless Queen of the South 2-1 with goals from Sean Welsh and Michael Gardyne. Lee Connelly scored a stunner for Queens out of nothing. That victory put Inverness back on top of the table after Killie and Arbroath played out a scoreless draw on the Friday night. Raith Rovers and Dunfermline played out a 1-1 draw in the rescheduled Fife derby on Wednesday night to bring the table up to matchday eight for everyone. Raith are up to fourth in the table with the Pars still bottom. Here's the three goals; all superb strikes... Accies only success this campaign was a 1-2 win over Queen of the South on matchday four. Their opening fixture against Raith Rovers offered much promise as they came from four nil down to snatch a dramatic 4-4 draw after scoring four goals in the final twenty-two minutes. Their last game was a 0-0 draw with Dunfermline at EEP, similar to us. Arbroath put four past them without reply three weeks ago. They have failed to score in their last three Championship matches. All this means that at the moment, like Dunfermline, they find themselves at the wrong end of the table. Latest Team News Billy Dodds will have more choice this Saturday as Aaron Doran and Shane Sutherland remained on the bench last week after recovering from injuries picked up at Dunfermline. Stuart Taylor has had a few knocks to contend with over the last couple of weeks. Lewis Spence is out with a knee injury that Taylor hopes is not requiring surgery. Shaun Want, Luke Matheson, Kieran MacDonald and Andy Ryan were all noticeably struggling and could be doubts for this weekend. Accies have secured Hearts defender Mihai Popescu on loan for the entire season. Striker David Moyo could return this weekend. Miko Virtanen is optimistic insisting "Accies are ready to inflict a first defeat on Inverness". He has based this on the number of opportunities Accies have created against Ayr United and Dunfermline and claims of being unlucky. Dodds looking forward to the Accies challenge
