  1. One I watched tonight is Centre forward Mark McAllister of Linfield in the Irish League. Quick, strong and 6' 5" tall. And hes just about 21. On a part time contract at Linfield.

He is quick and a good prospect but not 6'5". He's a bit of a midget - around 5'7" or so and I don't think he's any better than Odhiambo, Imrie etc.

A better prospect in my view is Curtis Allen of Lisburn Distillery. Only 20 and is joint top scorer in the league -He's also brilliant from set pieces and would be a cheaper option.

  2. Will this red mean Lionel is out for the semi-final (should ICT go through) or does it get carried over into the SPL?

I think it said on the radio he'll miss the game against Killie next week.

  3. Zadi header over the bar was a life-saver. This man deserves praise. Up against tricky dicky Robson he stuck at it and when he got goingdown the left wing he was drawing the attention off other ICT players. Great performance today-maybe he needed some encouragement .

With Proctoir ...it's Proctor and Gamble ..He definitely needs to improve. Well nigh invisible tofay.

Why did ICT not man-mark individual Celtic players? They had so much room to move it is a wonder that they did not score---ICT defence was solid and superb. Helping each other out . And aggressive running Imrie --what can we say. What an example to the rest of the team.

Thought Rooney can develop into a classy player but still seems to lack a wee bit of determination and drive--still young is he?

By the trime I got into the match and got the video working I missed about first 12 minutes so could not judge Foran .

Tokely really stuck at it and basically showed more self control in the tackles today. But his physique is a presence and this is a team game after all.Esson was calm and dealt well with everything ut I have to say he really was not busy. Celtic were pedestrian at times. huffed and puffed and had some good pasing but haerdly a shot on goal...

Overall a fantastic game with great atmosphere. This is the stuff to get the crowds back.

Well done BT and good luck.

(P.S. Any player not mentioned on here --sorry , all did well. Smile)

Great performance. Its amazing what happens when you play to your strengths. Much more organised and every man knew their job. Thought Esson, Mihadjuks and Munro were immense and hopefully thats a sign of things to come. We need a right midfielder pronto because although Proctor worked hard he's very limited and doesn't retain possession enough. Barrowman was a changed man, worked hard and held the ball up really well - all he needs is goals now. Big Zadi was frighteningly erratic - some brilliant defending and charges forward mixed with some classic headless chicken/bombscaremoments.

Final word for Imrie who was fantastic and thoroughly deserved MOM. Add a final ball to his play and we'vegot a great talent.

  4. Full time - Falkirk 1 - 0 Aberdeen 0.

With Hamilton also winning it's been a horrible, horrible dya. Every result going against us. It also doen't help that Rangers have won as it puts them only 1 point behind Celtic who will be even more desperate to beat us tomorrow now.

  5. From what I was told we do not currently have any players on loan. Morais, Gatheussi and Pavels were released from their clubs to sign for us until the end of the season therefore we can get Smith on loan (and Paterson although he doesn't count because he's based in England). Foran has allegedly had his contract terminated so would join on a free.

  6. Very, very impressed with everything Butcher has been doing and saying so far. His interviews are a breath of fresh air and his positivity is really rubbing off on me and I can only hope that it is the same with the players. He speaks with intelligence and really considers how he wants a point to come across - i.e. no bulls**t. Roll on Sunday and our 2nd home win of the season.

  7. As far as I can see on the other thread nobody has picked up on what he said. When asked about bringing anyone in before the window he said something along the lines of 'We have one or two on our minds, one or two to speak to and one or two who may come back'

    Bayne, Wyness ????

I picked up on that and it did get me thinking. Wyness, Bayne, Dargo and Dods are probably the most obvious candidates to come back. I think we could be seeing the end of Black in an ICT shirt though. Butcher was scathing about him having signed a PCA while on setanta a few weeks ago.

Why was he so scathing about him signing a PCA?

He basically said he disagreed with them and that they showed a lack of loyalty to your club. He then went on to say that of he was in charge of ICT Ian Black would never play for the club again.

Oh well, perhaps he should be more scathing re his current employers for not sorting out Blacks contact a good while ago and then it wouldnt be an issue

Precisely. Lets hope he can convince Cowie and Vigurs to sign new deals.

  9. He's certainly saying the right things and can clearly see where we are struggling. The fact he's given up his setanta committments shows he really wants to be here and any thoughts that won't be giving 100% can be wiped out.

    Onwards and upwards......

  11. Yes with Malpas as assistant, would be delighted with that. :rotflmao:

I would imagine that being allowed to appoint Malpas as assistant would be one of his stipulations for agreeing to take the job. I would have thought it could have been a stumbling block after Malpas allegedly* made a t*t of himself when interviewed for the job last time. Have to say I would be pretty happy with Butcher. Setanta would only take up Sundays as he is pundit for the live game and being Scotland assistant could actually be beneficial to the clubs profile and potential for players to be capped.

*although confirmed by more than one source

  12. I posted the above before i saw the other thread where the McCall-bashing has begun.

I can't quite remeber why ICT fans hate him so much. Is it something to do with our rivalry with Falkirk in the last few seasons in the 1st Division? If people are casting their minds that far back, then they might want to remember just how good Falkirk were at that time.

It dates back to when he was manager of a title chasing Clydebank side back in season 97/98. We beat them 3-2 and he took a massive huff by kicking over paint cans and mouthing off in the press.

As far as I recall anyway.

  13. Anyone up for giving Henrik Larsson a chance?

    in my dreams!!

Aye that would be nice. At least he'd solve the experienced forward problem.

I really like the idea of Archie Knox with Barry Wilson as assistant but I just don't believe he's a realistic option considering he'd be able to pick up another decent coaching job in the prem without a problem. An experienced head coach is a must in my opinion with an assistant who knows the club inside out.
