  1. Its just got even cheaper to go down.

    Clicky

Regardless of motives etc. (and this is not the topic to get into it) this is a great gesture by the board. Looks like they understand how important the game is and how much support we need for the team on the park. We all have our grievances against the board and Brew but the boys on the park still need our support for this one.

  2. I officially offer my services to manage the team for tomorrow after masterminding the following a few minutes ago. I used reasonably simple tactics: i.e. soak up the pressure, lots of pressing and hitting on the counter with pace.

    Starting line up:

    Fraser

    Tokely Duff Munro Hastings

    Cowie Black Vigurs Imrie

    Rooney Wood

  3. If Scott Booth is that confident then he should be installed immediately to the managers position.

Funnily enough I have first hand experience of his coaching abilities as he coached my uni team for a season while doing his badges. I imagine he can't be worse than what we have even though he talks a bit funny.

  4. Minutes silence on Saturday?

Perhaps a minutes applause may be more appropriate for him?

I think that it would show our appreciation in a more fitting way for a man without whose influence and dedication we wouldn't have an ICT to support.

  5. In reply to the original question - Yes I am very worried about the game on Saturday.

Maybe more of a 'must not lose' than a 'must win' but either way I think its a fairly vital game in our season. 3 points would keep that cushion between us and the teams below us where as 0 points would put us even deeper in the *****. We need to pick up 7 - 10 points from our next 5 games (St Mirren A, Aberdeen H, Motherwell A, Rangers H Hamilton A) and put Partick out of the cup. Anything else and its a disaster.

  6. Good old Diego.

Getting fairly fed up of Terry Butcher though. Every interview gets brought back to him and Mexico 86. It was only the QF and so how he can claim Maradona cost England the world cup is laughable. He needs to man up, concentrate on Scotland and shake the guys hand.

  7. Are Vigurs and Wood not out of contract too? I can't find the story on the official site but I thought they were only given 1 year deals.

Every year we get caught out by this although maybe this is changing (Barrowman and Rooney are on 3 year deals??)

  8. On one hand all our losses this season have been by 1 goal and with a few breaks we could have won/drawn all of them. The margins really aren't that big.

On the other hand we've only won 5 at home since last December and only won 8 league games in total. It's not the type of form thats going to keep us up. This season we've played 6 home games - more than any other team and only won one. If a team is to stay up they must win their home games particularly against the teams around them. Bearing in mind we've now lost to St. Mirren, Hamilton and Motherwell at home it's looking a bit grim.

I certainly wouldn't go pushing any panic buttons yet. We're only 6 points off 3rd and I believe this is going to be the tightest league campaign in years. From 3rd to 12th the teams could conceivably finish in any position. I would rather wait until the transfer window and see what activity takes place. In particular we need an experienced striker as I don't think the ones we have will have that nous and ability to stay calm if things get tense.

  9. FRASER  :015: :D Not much to do. Blameless with either goal.

ROSSCOE :P :021: :D Bit up and down from the big man. A couple of defensive lapses but supported well going forward.

GRANTY :D :D :D Again not much to do. Solid and commanding.

MAGUIRE :D :D :D :D Excellent. Covered well for Roscoe and had McDonald in his back pocket. His injury has come at just the wrong time as he was getting back to his best form. Really fear for him as it seems to be the same ankle that nearly finished his career.

    DUFF :D :D :D :D Slotted in seamlessly.

HASTINGS :D :D :D Didn't think he played too badly, certainly a better option than Djebi-Zadi. Couldn't be blamed for second goal as he followed McGeady inside and it was Black or Duncan that didn't close down Robson quickly enough.

IMRIE :D :D :D :D Worked tirelessly for the entire 90 mins. Still has a tendancy to try too much and dwell on the ball. Great free kick and generally good delivery.

BLACK :D :022: One his poorest games for us in a long time. Couldn't find any space and subsequently became frustrated. VERY lucky boy not to be sent off. Brewster had to sub him because it was coming.

DUNCAN :D :D :D :D What IHE said. We look so much better with him playing.

MCBAIN :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018: ;) Again I agree with IHE. Completely anonomous. Age seems to be catching him up and it's time for Vigurs to get the slot. He just wasn't composed enough when in possession and drifted too far inside allowing Loovens all the space in the world so it's just as well Loovens is mince as a right back.

COWIE :D :D :D :D Brilliant 1st 45mins. Gave Crosas a beasting and got behind Naylor at will in the first half. Supported Wood brilliantly and harassed the Celtic defence and midfield into mistakes. Why he was so deep for the first 20 mins of the second half is baffling and he lost his way. Finished strongly however.

WOOD :D :D :003: Impressed with Wood. Worked hard, won more than his fair share of headers and held up the ball well. Still looks a little raw and should have buried that first half chance otherwise he would have got 4 smileys. I think we've got a good one on our hands with a bit of work.

WILSON :003: :003: :003: Still got it. Maybe not the pace but the brain is as sharp as ever and someone we need at the club.

ROONEY :003: :003: :022: Did quite well when he came on. Lacks finesse however and made a couple of poor decisions but he certainly helped Wood and made a difference.

Overall, it was a very encouraging performance. Would like to see Vigurs start ahead of McBain and Barrowman as our main striker but we are shaping up ok. We still haven't lost an SPL game by more than a goal this season and with a couple of breaks this season we would be comfortably 3rd. We'll be there or thereabouts for the top 6.

  10. Triallists come and go. Have we ever given a contract to one?

The obvious one that comes to mind is Paul Ritchie. He was on trial at St. Mirren who didn't fancy him and then came on trial with us. One of our best ever signings.

  11. Out of curiosity, does anybody know if we have kept a clean sheet while Munro has played?

Who has been our 2 central defenders when we have kept a clean sheet?

Our only clean sheet was kept when Granty was playing. Opening day of the season at Aberdeen. Our two best performances this season have been v Aberdeen and Kilmarnock - The only games where Granty, McGuire have played together with Duncan protecting them.

  12. There's no dedicated radio coverage of the game is there? Or will it have to be a text update routine...

No dedicated coverage but I do believe that Sportsound will have the 'open mic' thingy on the go. Have to say I quite listening to it with random shouting in the background every so often.

  13. Just got a text from someone who was at the game. He says we should have comfortably won but their keeper made a couple of cracking saves and Rooney smacked the bar. Some defensive indecisiveness from McGuire killed us. Really disappointing as thats Hamilton and St.Mirren who haven beaten us at the TCS. If we want to progress we have to start killing off teams at home.

  14. I have received the following information from Mike Smith in relation to this subject.....

I have read with interest the thread on the website which was started with the issue of the percentage of the club shareholding in Caledonian Thistle Properties Ltd. This company owned Grant Street Park (excluding the structures thereon) which was sold to the Highland Council in 2001.

Can I say that having checked back there has been no change in this shareholding since it started and nor has there been any change in the percentage of 50%. If you follow back to the 2005 accounts you will find that it was 50% at that stage. Unfortunately a mistake was made in 2006 and it was returned as 100% and this was continued in 2007. We are now having recognised this and it has been rectified in the current accounts.

On the wider dialogue on this topic I would confirm that the stadium site is owned by the Highland Council Common Good Fund which leases it to Inverness Caledonian Thistle Properties Ltd. This company leases the stadium to the club although there is a separate lease from Inverness Caledonian Thistle Properties (2004) Ltd covering the North and South stands. These leases are co-terminus and run to 2094.

Thats fair enough. Good of Mr Smith to provide some clarity.
