  1. Aye it's no' everyday Inverness sign a Scotland international !

Good news indeed ! Kerr looked good at Livingston and Motherwell but seemed, for some reason to lose his way latterly at Hibs.

    Potentialy another very good signing.

  2. I don't think the board are being over cautious. Let's face it, as much as we might all believe we have got what it takes to save the season, we don't have to worry about the day to day finances of running a club and losing our SPL status could half our turnover over night.

Granted it's the Board who have put us in this position....and for that they deserve all the criticism they get. But we can't turn clocks back and finding ourselves where we are the best course of action is to proceed with caution and calculated risk....handing out long term deals on wages we can't sustain is not the answer.

    You're bang on CaleyD.

Above all else, our financial state is of paramount importance, and anyhow, as regards Mihadjuks, it's a two way thing, he's got to make sure he settles into life in Inverness, before he commits long term.

Having said that, in the case of Mihadjuks, now that weve seen him, it would be nice to get him on a longer deal soon, before the O.F. come sniffin around.

  3. Does anyone know if Sutton has officially retired? I know he had injury problems at Villa but I'm wondering if he's still able to play.

If he were to become a part of our management team be it boss or assistant, he could, like Brewster was, be a very good signing. The experienced forward we crave !

Incidently I apologise if this has already been talked about, I haven't had time to trawl through all the posts.

  4. Yep, I think it was Pat Nevin yesterday who was saying similar.

Why why why, let him (C.B.) bring in FOUR players in the window and then relieve him of his duties.

It's actually incredibly obvious but truly bizarre timing. Not at all fair on the new guy

  5. Aye, that's a good post Alex.

Although I never really joined in the "Brewster out" campaign, I must admit I'm glad that the whole thing is over now, it was painful.

Perhaps he had "lost the dressing room" I don't know. We certainly did have good days under his leadership, but in football nowadays it's very much The King Is Dead Long Live The King.

  6. There has been other questionable tactical decisions but I think the root of all Brew's (and our) problems have been since we lost 20 goals, in Dargo, and the 3rd best defensive record in the SPL, in Dods & Brown!

The first transfer window he had a day (? week at the most) to improve the squad and with the purchases he made, in this short period of time, he managed to get us into a more than respectable position in the league.

The last transfer window he was waiting to see what was going to happen with Niculae before he could make any signings. I agree though, this is where Brewster went wrong by not making a dominant centre half his priority

We have been the shadow of our former selves since Dods left, we have consistently leeked goals and as soon as the team start losing confidence in the defence it gives a negative effect on the rest of the players. I think because Brew was rushed into signing a centre half (McGuire) he has been paying for it ever since. McGuire was never a permanet solution to the problem and isn't half the player/leader Dods was for us but because he was bought half way through last season Brew obviously thought he deserved the start of this season to prove he could be the player Dods was.... and he definitely hasn't been!

As good a signing as Morais could be I am more encouraged now we have a big lad at the back and hope he can make himself a permanent fixture in the starting line up and we might start to get back the defensive record that got us the highest postion in the SPL to date.

Now we just need to find a replacement for Dargo... any ideas?

    Good sensible post Harry.

I still maintain that if Brew would just give Adam Rooney a decent run in the team then we'd reap the rewards

  7. Nah, I've not gone into hiding, just really little point in posting.

When that thread was started, ICT were about to beat Killie and go 4th. I and a good few others (if you read the whole thread you'll see there were many with me) felt Brewster was getting a hard time from a few and didn't deserve it.

I admit Brewster now seems to have lost the dressing room, it didn't appear to be that way to me at the time.

I guess I'll have to bow to the anti-Brewster camp's much superior technical football knowledge.

Now, I'm away to checkout a few members forum history ! :rotflmao:

  8. I think football can be made too complicated at times.

4-4-2 is the tried and tested successful formula. 4-4-2 has been the general success story now for over 40 years, I don't think football will find another level of progression.

The 3-5-2 was introduced as the next big thing circa early 90's but the big boys eventually dumped it. I don't care what anyone says regarding the 4-5-1 being non-negative if used properly, IT IS NEGATIVE AND DULL AND BORING.

IMO you cant beat a proper 4-4-2, with 2 widish midfielders a holder and a more offensive middle man and a striking partnership.

As I say football is simple, I remember reading comments from Jim MacLean (Dundee U) saying words to the effect that forget about all the fancy stuff, the vast majority of goals come from a cross from the wing and a header from the big striker !

  9. On the subject of Bayne, I thought the world of the guy, although it's fair to say not all ICT fans felt the same.

I was speaking to a guy today who was at the QOS V Dunfermline game on Saturday and he said Bayne was superb, never missed a ball in the air.

Can anyone remember or confirm if Brewster binned Bayne or did Bayne want to go ?

When it comes to Brewster - what is the difference ? Bayne went cos he was told he wasnt wanted - FACT.

Thank you for clearing that up for me IHE.

I'd, wrongly, been under the impression that Bayne wanted to return to the central belt for family reasons.

Family reasons, that old chesnut :rotflmao:

As a married man Stevico, the vast majority of the things I do are for "family reasons" eg the wife wants to do them ! :thumb04:

  12. Just come off a difficult shift and part of me wants to cancel travelling tomorrow - I have to admit that I used the road conditions fer Killie as I just couldnt be bothered watching the same old keek again and Cellic just scared me - and I didnt feel overly disappointed that I had missed another away win or an acceptable loss - I was glad for the points but disappointed that Brew just lived fer another day.

I am going to Midden but - as I have never done before - I am considering going to let the world know about my feelings to Brewster and letting it rip - I really do feel that he is totally feckin up this club.

ICT has been a lifeline to me and Brew is standing on the pipe - as far as I am concerned I will post an honest Smileymometer on Sunday but I am NOT going to another game as long as Brewster is in charge and I really cant be bothered repeating myself on threads on here - as I have been shouting about his inadequacies fer feckin months.

I cant help but feel like a turncoat / traitor but I have never felt so let down before and my love fer ICT is waning - am I right or am I wrong ?

Don't think there is a right or a wrong here IHE, you gotta go with how ya feel.

Hope your still gonna contribute to the forum cause if no'' I'd miss the craic and the abuse ! ha

  13. I aint been posting cos it is the same old posts over and over again. I find it absolutely unbelievable that anyone can even contemplate defending Brewster when his tactics and selections are totally abysmal. The management of the club have also got a lot to answer for.

Brewster is destroying this club - fans will turn away in their hundreds becos we are simply terrible entertainment with a feckin clown pulling the strings.

So, what you sayin then Johndo....? dya think it's maybe best if Mr Brewster left the club ? :thumb04:

Ya see - I cant even bother replying cos even that is feckin boring.

    Huh..charming !

Well I think yor non post is boring as well ! :rotflmao:

Most feckin erselicking cnuts would do - as far as I am concerned you are a feckin **** - is that better ?

    Nah, boring predictable stuff.

As you say, you must be too bored to read the posts, because if you did you'd see that I'm not a "erselicker"

I'm not particularly pro-Brew, just not part of the clamour to have him removed.

  15. FTAO Scotty

I'll no' quote all that lot in order to save some space ! :thumb04:

To be honest I can't argue with any of your comments, they're all pretty valid, in particular the fact that Brew the boss is suffering from not having Brew the player.

I just feel that Brewster's sacking is perhaps a little premature, but then again I may be wrong :rotflmao:

I can't pretend that I'm not getting swayed by the majority, however one thing I hate about modern day football is the ridiculously short time managers are given to basically form their own teams at clubs, the Alex Ferguson situation at Man. Utd in '89 springs to mind.

The St .Mirren game may not look like a biggie on paper to the average punter but for Brew it's looking like WEMBLEY
