So now its my fault you're a ****? :015: :015: :015: Don't think so, take responsibility for your own words and actions, feckwit :017:
  4. :012: :012: :012: Never trust someone who lurks on football sites with nothing to say about football. Still looking forward to your first positive contribution Hamish, guess I'll be waiting a bit longer...
  5. I think Hamish might be an exiled Scot but I like your style Lauraness :015: :015: :015: Keep singing doll :001:
  6. LOL Did Hamish tell you that? :015:
  7. :012: :012: :012:
  8. Change the record Hamish, its boring as well as cr@p. Why don't you try to contribute something positive to the site, maybe even venture onto the football threads once in a while, instead of taking out your pent up frustration on folk who like dance music. I realise it must be difficult for you to make friends in the states due to your overwhelming arrogance issues but if you made a wee effort you might realise that you're not better than everyone else, you're just the same.
  9. And I'm pretty sure if you played SOAD to undiscovered tribes anywhere they'd be appalled at how cr@p they are. Did you say you liked Tool or that you were one?
  10. :001: :001: :001: Maybe he won't have any choice! :015:
  11. My knight in shining armour's come to my rescue, I'll be there (on Friday) Couldn't miss seeing Hissy again! :love07: :love07: :love07:
  12. 12" while limp is quite an achievement, you could have a alternative career as a porn star! :015:
  13. I didn't send spies especially for you FW but you do seem to have made quite an impression on some of my boys! Maybe its your lack of a good 12"er or the fact you represent virgins, not too sure :015: Heilandee, wondered why you walked a bit funny, another mystery cleared up :015:
  14. I wonder if Mrs TM4TJ knows you've been playing with his lips? :001: Ive got a great picture now of 500+ metal fans turning up to see Maiden Scotland and going home with some tablet and a tartan rug or two. And my spies tell me you're more or less the same age as mee, FW, so what do you mean you've no vinyl in your collection? Thought you of all people would appreciate a good 12" :015:
  15. Hamish, no need to apologise, I get the feeling you're just an apology for a human being anyway :015:
  16. ! - Big wows 2 - You slagged off folk for liking dance music without any provocation, your first post on that thread read "One thing that I won't be looking forward to when I return home to the north is the generally sh!te availability of live music. The fact that 'Rockness' has attracted so much interest is testament to this. Last week-end I saw System Of A Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Black Label Society and Hatebreed live. All very accomplished musicians, SOAD especially. How could the rubbish that played at Rockness compete with this??" No wonder you got a slagging after coming out with that $hite. And yes, I have had musical training, piano, chanter, sung in a few different choirs, and even got a few banjo lessons by the finest banjo player in Scotland. Fortunately my musical training didn't turn me into a musical snob or an ersehole. 3 - Your whole attitude sucks. I would never use a phrase like the "lowest common demoninator of music listener" because I don't consider myself to be better or worse than anyone else or have better or worse taste than anyone else. Better an old biddy that enjoys her music than a condescending tw@t like you.
  17. Johnboy, 15th century baroque music is covered in the rather broad category of classical. Thank you for the email thanking me for all those CDs I did for you that you love so much. Hamish, I didn't feel the need to crash onto a thread about dance music in order to rubbish the whole genre, I'm not that insecure. You think your stint in some p1shy club in Aberdeen together with your "formal training in classical guitar" make you some sort of expert in music qualified to give us all a lecture. And you said "But I like the fact that not everyone like's SOAD (or, indeed, most of the music I listen to). Truth is, that is the definition of it being alternative and a bit 'on the edge'. Bands that are super-polular are, by definition, bland. They haven't the luxury of offending anyone and need to produce bland music (which, ironically, I find offensive) that appeals to the lowest common denominator of music listener." Which makes me think you think you're better than everyone else. The lowest common demoninator of music listener? Feck off!
  18. No blinkers on me! Hence I can like dance music as well as rock, classical, folk, rap, r&b (both types), bluegrass, indie, punk and pop etc etc. And after seeing hundreds and hundreds of bands, having been to every major festival in the UK, having a good couple of thousand vinyl lps in my collection as well as hundreds of CDs and a couple of hundred gigabytes on my PC I can safely say I don't see any need to define a band on how popular they are, just whether or not I like their music. Can you say the same?

You're the expert on spouting nonsense, I suppose it must be all the nonsense you listen to.
  20. No, I was meaning there aren't enough people in the Highlands who would spend all their wages going to see metal tribute bands on a nightly basis to keep the venue open. Maybe if you weren't so worried about how popular / unpopular a band is before you decide whether or not to like them you'd have a bit more credibility? I suppose you don't bother with Led Zep and Hendrix because a lot of people like them and by your own definition that makes them bland?

Coldplay are $hite as well, yet another lot of poor Radiohead copyists. Theres feck all "on the edge" about SOAD though, its bland rawk with no redeeming features, interesting to note you like them because not a lot of other people do, do you think it adds to your street cred? Maybe it does in America but it doesn't wash with me. Its quite funny you dismiss "polular" music just because its popular too. What's that got to do with the actual music? Do you wait to see if anyone else likes it before you decide whether to like it or not? People with elitist attitudes like yours miss out on so much music because you don't listen to it properly, you go with the herd or against the herd rather than judge music on its own merits. I feel sorry for you now :015:
  22. Predjudiced in the sense that I don't put up with anyone's $hite Hamish? :001: From our previous discussions, you know I like GOOD rock music, that doesn't seem to include anything you like though. I'm not disputing that a big rock band would sell out a big venue, just like a big dance act would, but the Ironworks is not a big venue, and its unlikely to attract bands used to playing stadiums is it? Alex - Its a concert venue, has an big-ish built in stage, and capacity for around 1200 standing in the biggest function area. My spy also said its painted in the most disgusting shade of burgundy imaginable. Apparently they've got acts booked till November so lets hope they've made a bit more of an effort than the line up on their website.
  23. Marty, you don't need anyone to argue with, you do that quite well with yourself! You still haven't answered my question, have you made your mind up whether it would fold or not? :015: And you don't need to be an expert on the metal scene to see the basic economics of running a venue. Theres no way theres enough metal fans willing to part with their money week in week out to keep a venue going on heavy metal alone.
  24. I do know a few metal fans who travel far and wide to see their favourite bands, and not one of them would pay to see a tribute band. Have you made your mind up yet as to whether it would fold or not? :015: :015: :015:
  25. Make your mind up! And there's a much better chance of a dance or folk only venue staying open than one that caters for heavy metal!
