  1. absolutely no chance of player-manager. Maybe a player coming to club soon but that is it. New manager is something this club needs or we are playing local derbies next season. My sign name says it all.

  2. Wonder if Barry could last a full game up front alongside Rooney

Desperately need crosses into the box...cant count many in last 2 games. Strikers need quality service n they aint been gettin it. Lets hope this happens tomorrow. Falkirk are a team that play football. We cant sit back in a 4-5-1 we have to attack them.

  3. Rooney definately got in Wood's way but what annoyed me were Brewster's substitutions again. It looked as if he was happy with a point from the game. Taking off our goalscorer and putting on a midfielder. And how long did he take to put Barrowman, it looked like he had no idea who to take off. :rotflmao:

I totally agree I AM SICK OF BREWSTERS LAST 10 MIN SUBS what is the point you cannot win a game that way i didnt want him to come back and cant wait for him to leave sadly that will be when he has got us relegated to the first division

We have Rangers and Hibs away in next 2 league games n not wanting to be pessamistic but we will be looking up at everybody in 2 weeks time.

  4. As most on this site know Brewsters biggest problem is his ego. That is why Parky "left"( he was actually asked to leave so i believe), he couldnt handle Donald being more knowledgable about the game than him. Thats why he got Malky back against the whole squads wishes.

Not true..........why Parky left had nothing to do with Brew............more to do with a much higher regime.

I know for a fact Parky was pushed, him and Brew never got on. Why? Cos he is a control freak!

  7. As everybody, except WGS, says it was a great game today. Very excitingstuff and some good footbal on display. For me the only difference was that if Barrowman was playing wemight have got a couple of these chances. Wood's first touch needs lots of work, but he is young and offers much more than Rory. However, we still need a striker, in the January sales - though all are talented, none are capable of carrying our seasons amibitions.

Imrie was MOM by a mile, top workrate, vision and skills. Purchase of the year, even this early.

Black's second tackle was mistimed rather than aggressive and kudos to the ref for noticing that. The ref generally had a good game, today, against all odds, and may even have been a homer. Nice to see Robson getting kicked from a'hole to breakfast. He was a fan's fave when he did his diving for us.

Much promise here. We will put a barrowload past M'well if we play like that, but then again, the cameras wont be there, at least not the big ones.

Talking of cameras, this shot from the BBC website of Loovens goal makes interesting viewing. Looking at the angles, I would suggest that Rosco was trying to defend from a kneeling position. He is becoming a luxury player. Get Proctor back!

Maybe the sun was in his eyes.

To be fair to Ross most people in the stand has there hands to the eyes with the sun blinding them! It looks 2 its had an effect on him with the suns shadow over half his face!!

  8. Can anyone cast their minds back and recall Barry Wilson being played as an out and out left winger in his C****y days? Or am i imagining things?

yip he did when Billy Ferries was on the right, they used 2 swap during games quite often

  9. Given that we have that option of playing McBain at left back and the option of Proctor, I wouldn't say that using our limited resourses to bring in another full back should be a priority.

Potentially bottom of league in 2 games,, n if Proctor still injured and we r still throwing in goals from wide areas!!!!!!!!! 4 goals conceeded from crosses in 2 games not good is it?

  10. 2 new fullbacks!! In our last 2 games we have lost 4 goals from crosses. Is this acceptable???? Think lately Ross and Richard aint been doing the business of late or have we enough cover ere 2 change/rest??? Personally i think we play better with McBain in at left back

  11. A few times this year when we go 2 a 4 4 2 we start playing decent stuff. Hate the one up front lark and when we start pumping long balls up to the "lone ranger" it comes back just as fast. (waznt as bad today tho!)

When Brew put 2 up 2day we gave them a good 15 mins of dodgy defending!!! Celtic were they're for the taking today and unfortunatley Brew was a wee bit 2 late changing it again. :rotflmao:

  12. FRASER :015: :D :P He didnt really do anything wrong and blameless fer the goals.

ROSSCOE :021: :D :D :D Typical Rosscoe display - solid at the back and always trying to get forward - I felt that he did sell himself fer the first goal though.

    GRANTY :D :D :D Again - seldom tested.

MAGUIRE :D :D :D As Munro - still think that he could have cut out the cross fer the first goal.

DUFF :D :D :D :D Did he not look the part when he came on ?

HASTINGS :D :D :rotflmao: Some may say it was jet lag but does he travel across the Atlantic every feckin week. Woeful fer the second goal and hasnt got much of a clue when he goes over the half way line.

IMRIE :D :D :D :D Sneaked my MOM. Excellent first half, faded mid way through the second fer 10-15 minutes but got a second win. Brilliant free kick - looked a lot more comfortable on the left. Went asleep fer the first goal.

BLACK :D :D :thumb04: He just looked frustrated from the off. Just couldnt get into the game and showed his frustration and should really have walked. But he comes back out and looks the part again, looks calmer and then he is hooked !!

DUNCAN :D :D :D :D Good to have ya back. Enuff said

MCBAIN :018: ;) Sorry but Brew has to simply drop him - enuff of the favouritism - if we had Vigurs on from the start it may have been a different tale.

COWIE :D :D :D :D Just like the old Don fer the first 45 but the goal changed it completely. He had to drop back and was in no mans land fer 15 minutes - then he had to withdraw into a deep midfield position - that was a very poor decision tactically.

WOOD :D :003: That was fer the goal. He missed an absolute sitter which could have changed the whole game - he did the same at Falkirk but we survived - he simply isnt ready yet but he has potential.

WILSON :003: :003: Wish he had come on five years younger !!

ROONEY :003: :003: :003: Put himself about more than Wood.

Brew simply has to jettison Hastings - try McBain at full back fer fecks sake - bring back Vigurs and stop treating Wood like he used to use Rory - and fecked him up.

Gawd do we need a centre forward and a pacy front runner or what ?

Basically - Cellic were there fer the taking.

Yip agree with you bar hastings and imrie, hastings looked tired early and sclaffed clearance led to 2nd goal and Imrie had good first half but cant remember him making a pass in 2nd half.lost possession a lot.

  13. FRASER  :015: :D Not much to do. Blameless with either goal.

ROSSCOE :P :021: :D Bit up and down from the big man. A couple of defensive lapses but supported well going forward.

GRANTY :D :D :D Again not much to do. Solid and commanding.

MAGUIRE :D :D :D :D Excellent. Covered well for Roscoe and had McDonald in his back pocket. His injury has come at just the wrong time as he was getting back to his best form. Really fear for him as it seems to be the same ankle that nearly finished his career.

    DUFF :D :D :D :D Slotted in seamlessly.

HASTINGS :D :D :D Didn't think he played too badly, certainly a better option than Djebi-Zadi. Couldn't be blamed for second goal as he followed McGeady inside and it was Black or Duncan that didn't close down Robson quickly enough.

IMRIE :D :D :D :D Worked tirelessly for the entire 90 mins. Still has a tendancy to try too much and dwell on the ball. Great free kick and generally good delivery.

BLACK :D :022: One his poorest games for us in a long time. Couldn't find any space and subsequently became frustrated. VERY lucky boy not to be sent off. Brewster had to sub him because it was coming.

DUNCAN :D :D :D :D What IHE said. We look so much better with him playing.

MCBAIN :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018: ;) Again I agree with IHE. Completely anonomous. Age seems to be catching him up and it's time for Vigurs to get the slot. He just wasn't composed enough when in possession and drifted too far inside allowing Loovens all the space in the world so it's just as well Loovens is mince as a right back.

COWIE :D :D :D :D Brilliant 1st 45mins. Gave Crosas a beasting and got behind Naylor at will in the first half. Supported Wood brilliantly and harassed the Celtic defence and midfield into mistakes. Why he was so deep for the first 20 mins of the second half is baffling and he lost his way. Finished strongly however.

WOOD :D :D :003: Impressed with Wood. Worked hard, won more than his fair share of headers and held up the ball well. Still looks a little raw and should have buried that first half chance otherwise he would have got 4 smileys. I think we've got a good one on our hands with a bit of work.

WILSON :003: :003: :003: Still got it. Maybe not the pace but the brain is as sharp as ever and someone we need at the club.

ROONEY :003: :003: :022: Did quite well when he came on. Lacks finesse however and made a couple of poor decisions but he certainly helped Wood and made a difference.

Overall, it was a very encouraging performance. Would like to see Vigurs start ahead of McBain and Barrowman as our main striker but we are shaping up ok. We still haven't lost an SPL game by more than a goal this season and with a couple of breaks this season we would be comfortably 3rd. We'll be there or thereabouts for the top 6.

  14. just heard team...

cowie, mcbain, duncan and imrie in midfield with rory n woods up front!!!!!!!!!!

I just hope Rory proves he's worth a start. Strong midfield, but i'd of thought that Wilson or Vigurs would get a game; especially with Vigurs performance in the previous cup tie.

How long till the Ian Black conspiracy theorists arrive...

sori got wrong...blackie in n mcbain not in squad

    That won't deter them :rotflmao:

Any word on defence and gk? Heading out in 10 mins so hoping to find out before then...

never heard goalie but toks, duff, munro n hastings

  16. Based on recent performances then I'd be tempted to go something like....

    - - - - - - - - - Esson - - - - - - - - -

    Proctor - - - - Duff - - - - Djebi-Zadi

    - - - - - - - - - Duncan - - - - - - - - -

    -Wilson - - - - Black - - - - McBain-

    - - - - - - - - - Vigurs - - - - - - - - -

    - - - - - McAllister - Rooney - - - - -

This is the type of game where we should be dominating in midfield, and with Proc, Duff and Djebi-Zadi at the back they have enough between them to be mopping up high balls over the top when Morton are forced into that as an only option.

Duncan and Vigurs are effectively playing as midfielders, but I have positioned them forward and back in the lineup to demonstrate that Duncan should be mindful of dropping back to assist when need be and Vigurs should be encouraged to make some of those intelligent runs he was making on his last outing to pick up knock ons and lay offs from the front pairing...or indeed to be setting them up, which he showed equally capable of doing against St Mirren.

Further more, every man I've selected has shown a willingness to get out there and give 100% this season, that's why there's no space for the likes of Cowie who could do with a spell on the bench IMO. Imrie....I wouldn't be overly upset to see him in place of McBain.

Subs....the usual suspects, although it would be nice to see the likes of Zander Sutherland and Dale Gillespie get a little time on the park if circumstances permit.
