  1. If we do happen to win the league this season i can't see us having much of a successful survival battle next season. and with no long term plan in place we're not going anywhere but backwards..........

We will win the league. Believe.

  2. I am sure there are many that don't realise the cost of running that operation...myself included what are the costs Alex ?

Don't think you will get a reply stevico1 cause he doesn't have a clue!

First off I dont think there's any need for sarcasm. Second, If you don't know me then don't assume I dont have knowledge.

Lets look first at wages. Average U-19 wage ?150 a week (guess) = ?7800 a year x average squad of 18 = ?140k + costs of staging home games + costs of travel + insurance + kit + coaching staff. So we could be talking in excess of ?250k a year to run one team. Players could, of course, be part time in which case they'd need to be holding down other jobs so wouldn't be in a position to train alongside first team squads.

It costs around ?150,000 (clubs money) to run an SPL under 19's squad. Of course when we get promoted we will have to reinstate an U19 team as it is a requirement of the Pro - Youth set up.

  3. We are going to lose most of our first team in January - thats why we have no chance of winning.

2 best teams i have seen in Inverness this season - Dundee and Ross County. They are BOTH keeping their players AND strengthening. We are the opposite and there are rumours, which are true, we are totally skint..........

We are a first division team for now and i only pray we get better peeps to invest and run the club....

Who are we losing - Barrowman and Imrie - no great loss. Yes we are skint and the current board have run their course but who's to say there is not investors waiting in the wings to save our club!! Believe!

Barrowman and Imrie gone and we are still on the ascendancy. Dundee and County on the other hand are beginning to stutter

Lessons have been learnt from last years relegation battle. Believe me, Butcher, in the name of FOOTBALL will keep us moving in the right direction.

  4. I was blind, now I can see

(Butcher) You made a believer, out of me

I was blind, now I can see

    We're movin' on up now

    Gettin' out of the darkness

  5. "It is a perpetual myth that there are no trespass laws in Scotland. Even before the recent Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, trespass has long been a delict (civil wrong) which is remediable by the remedies of interdict and damages. However, The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 amends the Trespass (Scotland) Act 1865 and establishes a statutory right of access.

Certain types of trespass have been criminal since the Trespass (Scotland) Act 1865 was passed, an Act no-one has ever heard of. Section 3 makes it an offence for any person to lodge in any premises, or occupy or encamp on any land, being private property, without the consent of the owner or legal occupier. Admittedly this section envisages a degree of permanency which will not be present in every situation of trespass. "

  6. We were beaten today by the team that is the in form team of the SPL at the minute. What I hear is that we played very well and made a few chances so personally I have no problem with the defeat.

In the days when we were seen as giant killers we had a squad that had been together for a few seasons and who had gelled together, got on well with each other and played for each other. It will take time to build up that sort of camaraderie, workmanship. honesty and belief again but I have no doubt it will happen.

Jay_7 Rooney is joint second top scorer in the league so how can he be embarrassed with his strike rate.

    In all comps this season:

    Griffiths Played 27 scored 17

    Rooney played 27 scored 12

    Harkins played 28 scored 12

That's not a strike rate. Strike rate is number of goals scored from shots taken. I'd put money on Rooney having one of the worst goals from shots ratio in the country, never mind the league.

Even if he has the worst goal from shots ratio (evidence required) he is still the 2nd highest GOALscorer in the league. Also if he has the worst ratio as you say he does then he and the team must be doing something right to make so many chances. If we weren't a good team (in this league) then surely we wouldnt be making all these chances that you say Rooney is missing.

Last year Torres hit 14 goals from 86 shots, six shots per goal. Thats a lot of shots for arguably one of the best strikers on the planet. Then two seasons ago you had Ronaldo with 186 shots scoring 31 goals a similar ratio - again a lot of shots. Im now intrigued by Rooneys strike rate. If its less than six could I then argue he is one of the best strikers in the world ..............no that would be SILLY!!

  7. I'll give you Munro and Hayes.

Proctor doesn't know what he is - a perfect example of a "jack of all trades, but master of none".

Foran has regularly been head and shoulders above the rest of the team at the start of the season, but when did he last have a good game? We constantly punt the ball to him and it's all a little predictable. I'd also like to see this 20 goal promise that he made materialising.

Rooney would be satisfactory if he would take the chances he's given. How many one-on-one's has he had this season and how many of those has he scored? Given the chances that he's had this season, a decent striker would be well into the 20's so far.

I give you division one top scorers...........

    Griffiths Dundee 11

    Harkins Dundee 10

    Rooney Inverness CT 10

    Holmes Queen of South 9

    Weatherson Morton 9

    Buchanan Partick Thistle 8

Rooney as you see is the 2nd top goalscorer in the league just one of the top. So to me, when you compare him to whats around him he is one of the best strikers in the league!!!! And of course he plays for one of the best teams in the league!!!

  8. Jay 7 you are correct we are not a good team in comparison to the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona, Ajax, Hertha Berlin, Santos, PSV Eindoven, Celtic , Rangers or Nottingham Forset or even Cardiff City....... However correct me if I am wrong but Im sure we don't play in any of the Leagues the aforementioned teams play in. We play in the SFL Division 1 and compared to the other teams in our league we are a GOOD team. I would say we are one off the best teams in this league if not the best. I've seen one better team this season in OUR league and Im hoping the wheels are not only going to fall off their caravans but off their season. When we BEAT C@unty in the rearranged game we will go on and win the League. It may not be pretty but when you compare with whats around us - we are a GOOD team.

    Where's the BELIEF??

The belief's here all right. I believe you need to be locked up before you hurt yourself if you think we are one of the best teams in the First Division.

Dundee, Ross County and Queen of the South are all better than us. Although we beat Partick Thistle recently, had their first choice starting eleven been available for selection, they would have absolutely horsed us.

I will reiterate my earlier point, we are not even close to being a good team. For that to change, we need the money required to bring in a centre back, a left back, two central midfielders, another winger and a striker that can take the chances that he's given.

Does a team that needs all that sound like a good one to you?

So what you are saying is you think we are the 5th best team in the league. So with there been 10 teams in the league we must be better than the 5 other teams. Therefore we are a GOOD team compared to those teams.

I would disagree with you about Dundee and QofS i dont think they are better than us and we will definitely finish above them.

    Why all the negativity?

  9. We ARE a good team, Killie are an SPL team or did you forget that Jay_7. This place is full of negative **** all the time

We're not even close to being a good team. We defend woefully, we're impotent up front and our midfield can't control a game.

Esson aside, which part of our team would you even describe as satisfactory?

Jay 7 you are correct we are not a good team in comparison to the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona, Ajax, Hertha Berlin, Santos, PSV Eindoven, Celtic , Rangers or Nottingham Forset or even Cardiff City....... However correct me if I am wrong but Im sure we don't play in any of the Leagues the aforementioned teams play in. Where's the BELIEF??

  10. Just wondering if you guys knew about the reduced prices for tomorrows game down here?

Also how many do you think you will bring down?

Yeah Cheers. Dont know how many are going from Inverness but there will be a few exiles going. Hopefully it will be a good game with ICTFC edging it 3-1!!!

  11. We all know what the land in and around the TCS is earmarked for. I personally do not care who owns it, my primary concern is will the OWNERS of the LAND build us a new stadia that satisfies SPL criteria when the time comes to build the Marina!!!!

I would be very grateful if the OWNERS of the land/TCS please answer this one question.

  12. Oh dear, this is not good news at all and I am very sorry to hear of this.

The club shooting itself in the foot again.

    :(

    Poor poor show.

By the way, got a tip off about this, very good

  13. I was (officially) sacked from my (voluntary) Stadium Announcers position on Friday afternoon, although I had already been tipped off as others knew in the morning that it was going to happen....even though the decision wasn't apparently made until a meeting of the Board at Friday lunchtime!!!

On Monday 11th January I was asked to stay back after another meeting by Darren where I was told that the Board were effectively issuing me with a warning that I refrain from posting any negative comments about the club and it's finances on the forum or I would be removed as Stadium Announcer. I refused to accept any gagging order and, as Darren could not provide any specifics about what it was I had said which had upset them, I suggested that it might be an idea that I meet them to see what the problem was.....this meeting never happened and nothing else was said....until yesterday.

I had been out and about all day and noticed about 5 o'clock that I had a voice message on my phone. It was from Darren saying I needed to call him as a matter of urgency. I returned his call and was told that following the Board meeting that afternoon he had been instructed to remove me as Stadium Announcer.

I had been due to do the PA for the U21 Rugby match on the 5th February, something which the SRU had contacted me directly about and I would have been working for and being paid by them. Darren informed me that he had contacted the SRU to say that I was no longer available...in effect, interfering with a private contract and denying me the income deriving from that.

When I asked what if I would still be welcome to go in to the Stadium to do other things I was involved with like the video for the match highlights and the live twitter updates he did not know....apologies to those who rely on the Twitter feed, but now you know why they were few and far between today (Scotty had been doing them based on news coming in from other sources). I also asked if I had been banned from the Stadium altogether and he did not know. I'm still awaiting the call confirming those two situations and thought it best I remain away from TCS to prevent any problems....although I very much doubt I would have had any motivation to attend anyway.

I avoided posting anything on the matter last night. In light of the snow falling outside I had an inkling the club would need volunteers to clear the pitch today and I did not wish the treatment of this one volunteer to put others off from doing their part and I certainly didn't want the finger being pointed at me for poisoning people against helping out and ensuring the game went ahead......I hope all volunteers today were vetted on the way in to ensure none of them had ever said anything negative about the club?

I appreciate that the club are within their rights to dispose of my services, what stinks is the manner in which it has been done and the fact that many issues have been overlooked and not taken into consideration....very likely for reasons of self preservation. However, because I choose not to hide behind an anonymous username when speaking my mind it would appear that I have been singled out from among those connected to the club who post on here.....such is life.

    Thats ridiculous.

    Come the revolution.................................

  14. How does he still get a full 90 minutes. The guy is a joke. How many chances does he need to score even from two fecking yards. He cant pass a ball to save his life and his only decent attribute is a decent touch and thats pretty bad two. What a waste of wages

Why don't you take your negativity elsewhere. The team is on the ascendency, theres a ray of hope that we have turned the corner, theres a buzz around the stadium and you choose a player to slaughter. So what he missed a sitter not every player can turn it on week in week out. Remember we are watching SFL division 1 not La Liga or the English Premiership.

If I was Sanchez I would take what you say with a pinch of salt as I remember the same comments being made about Dargo and Marius at one time. Sometimes I think the stadium is full of Rugby fans because a lot don't seem to know very much about football.

Lets get BEHIND the team and BELIEVE!! Time to rid the TCS of any negativity and get behind every one involved on the playing side 100%
