  1. This is a poor decision IMO. Russel Duncan = hard work, commitment, reliability and experience. He's being thrown on the scrapheap at 30 after 10 years outstanding service. It's a disgrace. This isn't just an abomination on sentimental grounds, it makes no footballing sense. We're replacing a rock with an unknown quantitiy. It sends out the message that the club is not a meritocracy and has no respect for the aforementioned qualities. We would rather give a short-term loan contract to an unknown english championship rookie than retain a reliable, experienced stalwart who loves the club and the fans. It's a joke.

  2. I think the clubs should get together and create a charity shield (Highland Shield) event every year, alternating the venue between the two grounds. Pick two local charities and split the takings.

Good idea. How about a tournament with ICT, Ross County, Elgin and Clach? (or perhaps the last slot could be the reigning Highland League champions rather than Clach) Good crowds and revenue guaranteed.

  3. Don't expect common sense from the council. Some of them actually want to make all pubs and clubs CLOSE at midnight. Until more liberal minded folks decide to stand for the council these Bible bashing killjoys will continue to impose their will upon us. As long as they are in power Inverness will always have a curfew, only have a handfull of premises with a late liscence, never have a casino etc. The best thing you could do would be to research which councillers are FOR the curfew and which are AGAINST then name and shame on your facebook before the election.

  4. Couldn't believe it when I heard the game was off today. Have to agree with the Celtic fans 100% on this one, no point in defending the indefensible. If the roles were reversed we would be saying exactly the same things. This is an absolute JOKE. Thousands of fans inconvenienced, out of pocket and time wasted. TV money lost. Celtic fans threatening to boycott away games with ICT in the future. All because we are apparently incapable of dealing with a bit of overnight rain in April. Either we get the drainage system sorted or invest in a simple pitch cover which would prevent this happening again. The groundsman is against pitch covers? I don't care. I'd rather have an imperfect pitch which is PLAYABLE, than a perfect pitch which is always UNPLAYABLE whenever it snows or rains. End of rant.

  5. Roger you seen it as I seen it. I dont know whats going on with our team but somethings amiss. There was no communication among players. Indeed it was like watching ten guys who'd only met today for the first time. Something is very wrong at ICT. A couple of weeks ago there was talk about how the managers and players got round the table and had an open and honest discussion about the problems and the word was that all had been sorted and everyone was friends again. After then we went out and hammered Motherwell and were close to beating Celtic. Today we're back to pre then. Where is the team that works for each other? The team that fights for everything and anything? The team that punches above its weight? Where is the TEAM? The last time I seen an ICT team so disjointed was when Charlie Christie was struggling to get everyone to play around Niculae.

All the way through our downward spiral over the last 4 months we've had Golly and McBain fit and available for selection. Experienced, vocal, hard working players who could have an influence on the pitch. But they've been completely shut out. Butcher apparently even favours Duff and Munro at left back to Golly, the man who was the lynchpin organizing our defense last season. Baffling.

  6. It would be easy to blame the weak referee and all of the soft free kicks he awarded at the Celtic end for tonights result but this is starting to become a bad habit. The reality is we were the architects of our own downfall. Both of Ledleys goals were gifts from our makeshift defense. Highland league marking.

Tactically we sat deep and seemed content to hoof the ball into empty space rather than try to construct a move for the majority of the match. When you make no effort to pass the ball or get men forward you don't deserve to win. I would rather 'we have a go' in a home game vs Celtic in the Scottish Cup quarter final and make a spectacle of it rather than play an ultra-defensive lineup and negative, scrappy football. For sure the players worked hard but for ?21 I would have preferred a bit more positive attacking football from us. Just found the game to be a bit of an anti-climax, meh. :getmecoat:

  7. I guess the fact that ICT have, historically, been slow starters and strong finishers in the majority of our league campaigns counts for nothing then.

The way some people are going on then Butcher should probably just right this season off and start preparing for next season....if we're really lucky we might just avoid relegation!!!

Where were we sitting in the table this time last season?

  8. All I ever hear as soon as Lennon opens his mouth is: "waaahhhh . . . . waaaaahhhhh . . . . waaaaahhh . . . . it's not fair . . . . waaaahhhh . . . . " Big bairn.

Question is, does he do it by being cunning or is it just 'cos he is a natural pr1ck?

Maybe someone should call him a waah-mbulance.

According to the P and J, the waah-mbulance driver was on his tea break.

  9. Colin Nish WTF he is fuckin abysmal, wouldn't surprise me in the least though. I heard this story last week and it IS matter of fact.

Have to disagree with you there. He always seems to be a thorn in our side when he comes to TCS. He hasn't done so well at Hibs but he was a great player for Killie.

  10. I'm pretty ropey at percentages but I think I see what your saying, however, if 5000 weegies, Dubliners or Belfastonians decide that they're not going to bother, no one minds, but if 1000 Red Coat taunters decide that actually, they would rather not, then "there's something seriously wrong". That doesn't add up.

What happens in Butlins stays in Butlins.
