  1. We could always completely ditch the rich history of our game and have franchises. Team Glasgow, Team Edinburgh, Team South, Team Fife, Team Tayside, Team Grampian and Team Highlands and Islands.

The franchises need not necessarily be based in the geographical locations associated with their names but wherever the wealthy owners choose to locate them. Beer, hotdogs and pretzels served to spectators at their seats wherever they're standing and the future of soccer in Scatland is sorted.

It just needed one little tweak...otherwise I think you're onto something!

  2. Roberts taking out two Celtic players before crossing it to Billy McKay who slots it home cooly for the winner.

Yep this. One of those sliding Celts kindly played Billy onside. You might say it was win-win-win...

  3. That's a terrific lob by Draper. Calm, precise, the right option. Seem to think we've had quite a good few one-on-ones this season...pity they didn't all end like that (he says greedily).

Great result in a great season. 50 points pre-split...outstanding    :clapoverhead:

  4. Again yesterday there was only 1 live game with the rest on OAM's And the service was cut off a few minutes after full time.

What's going on the BBC's coverage? Mr Bannerman please?

I too have noted that it gets cut off right at 5PM on the dot, but if you retune to the Radio Scotland link or the general sportsound link, it continues after 5.

Yeah, the internet feed is all different this season. Scotty's right BornCaley, just go back to the Radio Scotland main page and you'll get the regular feed. Took me a week or two to figure it out!

  6. Watched the England game. :saythat:

It's been 20+ years since the national team were anything to get worked up about.

As for the phrase 'international break' appearing in the calendar...what's that about?! Internationals should be Wednesdays only.

Now, back to the best ever SPL.

  7. 78 weeks to debate the issues. My hope is that everyone listens to both cases.

I want Scotland to be a socially just country for all of us and I believe that Will only happen through independence.

What would you say were the major potential pitfalls with choosing Independence?

    Serious question, I'm undecided.

  8. I'm quite surprised this story hasn't featured for a while. If he's off or there are medicals/'substantial talks' going on then they are keeping it well under wraps.

Anyway, for an injury-prone, can't be bothered, play-for-myself-not-the-team, prima donna...can anyone think why Brum or Sheffield would be interested in him?

  9. I believe we will get a European spot and that we can hold onto third...Always look on the bright side of life

    Slightly worried.

I just saw the 2014 Europa League Final is in Turin (Juventus). I hope to god the marchers get a central belt match to depart from...County or Aberdeen's going to be a toughie!

  10. “For us to finish ninth or 10th in the SPL would be a good season.

“But ninth or 10th will not be good enough to reach the 14-game Premier League.

“If you lose players through injury or suspension you could end up being relegated even after being miles ahead of the team in 12th.

“It isn’t rewarding success. The team that finishes first in the First Division might not go up, even if they are 20 points clear after 22 games."

4 teams with SPL experience and players will mostly prevail over 4 teams with 1st Div experience and players over the course of 14 games (MOSTLY I'm saying!). In which case this is making it even harder to get out of Div1.

This and other questions I have about the way clubs will manipulate games in the run up to the split if they are looking semi-detached...I tend to agree with Terry.

But, change is needed and if the powers that be have the ears and cahones to fine-tune it when needed then fine. Let's try it.

  11. He was a real handful in the cup game, hence why so many of us predicted he'd bag the opener in the NPL. But we knew what to expect this time and he really didn't get much room to do his thing.

Tend to think this is partly the reason several of our players dipped in the last month. Teams have wised up to McKay, Doran et al and they're not getting the room they had in the first half of the season.

Or maybe Billy just didn't want to score for a wee while.
