  1. Now red hot bookies favourite.

The news caster was struggling to hold it together where readin it out there at the news. Definately laughing at the appointment.

Can say goodbye to the SPL if Ardiles comes in, of that i am in no doubt.

  2. He seems to be wanting every management job under the sun. He wanted the Leyton Orient job the other day.

I heard that, he called talksport his self 20mins after Barry Hearns had been on, announcing they were looking for a new manager, putting his name name forward.

Far too nice a man, good coach, never a manager.

  3. even aviemore seems to be getting dragged into it,a few weeks before christmas,i left for work at 7am and whole street across from me was cordoned off seemingly some 16 year old got stabbed in the leg and guy who ALLEGEDLY did it stays in my street,he wasnt long out of prison, and comes from a bad family

heard today on friday night 2 streets away from me a guy got slashed from ear to ear, including cutting his windpipe hes critical in raigmore,it was ALLEGEDLY his girlfriends son who did it ,so aviemore is getting bad also, these are just reported one,but i have heard of a few more,a guy in new robertsons house a few months back ALLEGEDLY attacked a guy with a machete

Not a new thing in Aviemore. In Late 80's i seen a guy murdered outside Smiffy's chippy. Guy only got 7 years .

Blackie hope you don't mind stuck a couple of ALLEGEDLY'S in your piece, just in case they haven't got to court yet

Over a dog if i remember correctly.

  4. I dont need Wiki. See the fact is I'm of an age and an era where I take interest in a lot of things. I read a lot. Try Diamond in the Dust the biography of Ian Stuart. But thats beside the point. Fact is neither you or anyone else really knows me. What I do. What I have done. Where I've been etc. Dont make assumptions unless you know facts.

  5. Most of the lads were Caley fans and wouldn't be seen dead at TCS and would never support the club in any way . Not sure if you realise it but a lot of people view the ICT support as a joke , OAPs , kids and wifeys.

    Nail on the head.

  6. As most of my family speak the gaelic, 1 generation and upwards of me, i have heard it all my life, but just really know the swear words myself. I plumped for French in school to annoy my Mother.

Thats what you get with parents from the Western Isles though.

  7. There are not many many local names on the list at all. 10 in Inverness area 4 of which are women which surprises me.

And how many of the 10 might have been on that march to the Portland Club with the Apprentise Boy's?

    Ridiculous post.

  8. There are crazy accusations/rumours flying about re-the list.

I heard it was 2 Scottish EPL players, and there is also a **NAME REMOVED** on the list, from Manchester though, must just have the same name.

Which could be said of any SPL players also, unless they have address & occupation too.

  9. There was one in a field at the back of resaurie back in the mid to late 80's. They had the proper track set out. Was obviously a club.

Some farmer used to rent out a field to them to race on. Noisy bassas i can tell ya on a sunday morning.

  10. I have a copy of the book below to remind me of old inverness, some good old pictures of the Eastgate in it, from near the town house though, som you really cant se eastgate much, but some good ones of the rest of the town.

There is a cracker taken in the offices of Duncan Duffy in 1910, insurance & shipping agent 12 lombard street, with the two gentlemn behind the counters, with dodgy moustaches in tow..

but i have never bothered with a scanner so unfortunately cannot print it for you.

  11. In all honesty, Caley could have taklen a striker just as good from Inverness' amateur/welfare set up at the time.

Nero was bummed up to be the new Billy Urq, but that never even came close to materialising.

Funny to read he's in Germany now, as he always reminded me of Boris Becker.

  12. Rangers (Manager: Jock Wallace)

    McCloy

    Nicholl

    Dawson (McPherson, 70)

    McClelland

    Paterson

    Redford

    Russell (Clark, 75)

    Prytz

    Williamson

    McCoist

    Cooper

And only one foriegn player in that squad

And usually about 5 foreign players start for Rangers these days.

Incidentally how many start for jags these days ?

By non foreign, i take it you mean non UK, as big John Mclelland & Jimmy Nicholl wouldnt exactly have qualified for a cap for Scotland.

Very smart thinking, as now you lot an claim rooney to be a local laddie.

  13. I remember all the hullabullo when Nero, or should i say Zero came over the water, it turned out to be fake hope, he was average, at best.

I worked in the post office when he was here too, i mind a small altercation with him on the way back from the annual posties sports day at Stirling University, Zero couldnt take being told he was just that.

  14. Rangers (Manager: Jock Wallace)

  15. Raymond Mackintosh was the one i remember from my childhood, thought he was the best keeper i saw in the Caley goals.

His namesake was a lethal striker with Billy THE LEGEND Urquhart in my day. Good auld days :thumb04:

What I would give to have a front two like that at ICT now!

What i was meant to say was Billy MacDonald :rotflmao: :018: , of course RM was a striker, just coming to the end of his career when i was a brat..

  16. He used to pay well, believe it or not, not sure if it still is but it was the largest independent bookshop in the UK at one time, or he claimed it was. after xmas was epsecially fruitfull for the new years carry oot with unwanted books for christmas. :rotflmao:

I know what you mean about the jumble sale though, when he had the shop along ness bank it could have done with a blast of mr sheen & a wee dust.

  17. Aye, PC Coutts, stocked the Caley strip. Shetland Originals on the corner of Bridge Street. Clive Rowland the outdoor shop long before Tisos or Nevisport arrived. Leakey the bookshop in the market before he moved to the Greig St bridge. Melvens bookshop. L. Gavin's. All those highland outfitters and gun and saddle shops. Going out past the Caley Park by Muir of Ord before the bridge was built. Ach I know that was before 1994, I'm getting carried away :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018:

Haha, i used to sell my poor mother's hardback books to Charles Leakey for a Saturday night carry oot when i was in school.. ;)

When I was back in April, I thought it looked a little run-down (the town centre that is). When I was back a few weeks ago, I thought it was like a ghost town. Admittedly, the roadworks everywhere dont help, but it just didnt feel vibrant any more.

I hope the credit crunch and other factors that may be affecting the town centre ease somewhat and it bounces back, but its obvious times are tough when you walk through it.

I feel the same when i go back Scotty, i think its gone right downhill, maybe its things that were always their, but as i stayed their i didnt notice so much, but i wouldnt have thought so.
