  1. Jordan, Because she's got huge norks.
  2. Where's Richard Hastings when we need him?
  3. Wouldn't do our attendance figures any harm either as we'd be guaranteed a big gate for County games. Wonder if we'll get unusually large attendances for games v. St. Johnstone due to proximity. The downside is that the neutral support would then be divided, i.e the people who don't mind whether they're watching County or Caley but would probably be inclined to watch SPL football rather than Div.1. We seem to get better attendances when we're in a different division to County (so far we've always been in a higher division when that's happened - so we'd really suffer if they went up and we went down) So, I suppose, no - I'd rather they stayed down there where they belong - Div 1 or 2 - no higher. Telt!
  4. Aye well, they ended the season with precisely NOTHING. Bummer, eh!? B)
  5. OK - it's that time of year again, so here's the question - two awful prospects are looming: Ross County winning the Scottish Cup and England winning the World Cup. Both pretty awful I grant you, and we'd never hear the end of it if either happened, but which in your opinion is the WORSE scenario. Personally I'd go for the England option - I could just about live with County winning the Cup but only because we've won the league!
  6. Not at all - I know what you are trying to imply but I find neither the Irish nor the British flag offensive. Nor indeed the English flag for that matter. And I favour neither of the old firm, being totally indifferent to the whole Rangers/Celtic thing. (Oops - did I give something away by naming them in that order? :blush02: ) Actually, I'm rather fond of ICT and go to watch them quite a lot!
  7. Assuming you are unfamiliar with the more rancid elements of Scottish football (otherwise I'd be stating the obvious), how about: 1) Irish flag 2) British flag 3) English flag 4) Any flag with a swastika on it. This list is by no means comprehensive. I hasten to add that I personally have no time for this tricolour/union flag cr&p, however, I do not pretend to be unaware of it's existence.
  8. Hmmm . . . I would suggest that anyone taking an Irish flag to a Scottish football match had mischief in mind. Yes, I agree this whole thing is ridiculous, but I ain't stupid either!
  9. I wonder if there's a catchy term for this "choosing to be racially offended on someone else's behalf" phenomenom - most popular among the middle-class socialist element.
  10. Don't think there's any doubt about that - they are the second best team in the Highlands regardless of where they finish in the league. At least until Clach overtake them!
  11. 500 of them arrived at Greenock yesterday after an epic voyage through the Pentland Firth - part of the "Voyage to Hampden" package run by County Cruises on their luxurious flagship.
  12. As from (I think) last Saturday, we are now mathematically safe from relegation! Or was it Tuesday??
  13. He's right you know. Two thousand years had passed on the last day of the year 2000. Therefore the new millenium actually began on the 1st of January 2001. I remember mentioning that at the time but they didn't listen. Aye, they'll be kicking themselves now though. And whoever suggested that the first year was year zero is talking out of the wrong orifice, I respectfully suggest!

  15. For once I'm feeling positive about our next home game. 4-2 I reckon!
  16. Well, I'm working this weekend, so I guess I'll join your boycott - unless I can get someone to cover for me. And don't call them gypos - Ross county supporters may find that offensive! :D
  17. You are indeed right - it was against Livingston in (I think) the First Division. They were the team to beat back then and we did just that, admittedly hanging on at the end with just ten men and Tokely in goal.
  18. There's a VW garage in Portree which is over the Skye bridge and 30 odd miles up the road. There used to be one in Broadford (7 miles away) but that's now a Co-op Although the majority of non-OF fans in the Kyle area support Ross County, there is little chance of me becoming similarly afflicted! Hello Don't be ridiculous! :D
  19. I read about a couple of Italian teams - canna mind their names - local rivals anyway and when they played each other the supporters of one of them always wore face-masks, implying that they needed protection from the smell of the opposition support. That sort of thing could wind up our local rivals. :D
  20. Thanks folks! Weather in Kyle is generally dull with the occasional bright spot - a bit like the County-supporting natives. (Except for the occasional bright spot) I ain't casting for a bite, but nothing wrong with a bit of banter. To be honest there's good crack with the Kyle tinks, especially the ones I work with - no hatred or anything - they just like to get one over on us when they can, and how they love to gloat about it. As you can imagine I had to take a lot of stick after the County game. We MUST win next time we meet!
  21. Hi guys - I'm new to this forum. Been watching for a while, nearly a year I suppose. I'm from Inverness and used to be a Caley supporter. Now I live in Kyle and am surrounded by Ross County supporters. I try to get to as many home ICT games as possible and I suppose I'll end up in Dingwall one of these days too, pitying these poor deluded County supporters whose team has already peaked this season and is now on the slippery downhill slope! Looking forward to a bit of banter and crack (don't spell it the poncy way!) Cheers!
  22. I like the idea of 2 divisions - division one with 20 teams and the other 22 in div 2. Play each other twice - plenty of variety and none of this over-familiarity and stagnation you get when playing the same few teams 4 times a season. Might indirectly benefit the Scotland team too - the last time we were any good we had that sort of league set-up, though not quite so many teams
  23. I like that idea too - unfortunately probably not enough Highland players of quality for an spl team. However as senior team in the area it's probably our duty to train and nurture any young talent in the area with a view to the future.
